    Haha so funny and relatable with the slip of aperture. On set I was sure my gaffer was playing games with me by dimming all the lighting gradually.. then I found out it was the lens playing games 😂

    Have you used these with a speed booster ? If so, what was the greatest disadvantage using one? Great content, thanks!

    Moddings I'm going to do when I get mi set. 1) Simrings and front caps. 2) Follow focus gears. 3) Ef simmount and rear cap. I know I should declick the aperture, but I don't mind it.

      @KevinReyesDP  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@HiddenOaksMedia i plan on building out a smaller summilux and including the v2. But that’s a good question, I think I’ll do a comparison between the two soon.

      @@KevinReyesDP I'd love to watch the comparison video asap..! Right now I have a opportunity to purchase either Leica R 19mm v1 or v2 and I'm torn between them.
      I thought you're building a set with serial no of 290xxx - 320xxx, does that mean 19mm v2 is a bit new for a set like that? I wonder if the color of 19mm v2 match other Leica R lenses with serial no of 290xxx - 320xxx.

    Big fan of Simmod's Products and have purchased SO much from them...BUT Don't expect to get them in a reasonable amount of time...gotta get use to playing the long game. Hopefully they figure out a better workflow

      I’m afraid that’s the case with almost every manufacturer dealing with the impact of a global pandemic. I’m sure they’ll catch up once shortages shore up.

  • @user-nu8bf3bf9m
    @user-nu8bf3bf9m 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Why did you get both 19mm v1 or v2? Also which one do you prefer? Are you gonna keep both?

  • @HiddenOaksMedia
    @HiddenOaksMedia 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    If you’ve used a summilux set, would you say personally that it’s worth having both lux and crons? I’m torn about it. The 35 and 80 in particular. Would love to see some comparisons on your channel

    • @KevinReyesDP
      @KevinReyesDP  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I’ve read a lot about summilux, having 1.4 would be awesome for sure, but from what I’ve read the summicron optics are superior. Not sure if it’s true, nonetheless I’d still love to own the lux’s. But prices are way too high for it to make sense as a good investment for me. I’d rather get some proper PL cine glass.

    Zero Optiks does full rehousing. If you have Leica R, then don't rehouse. Save the money and get a proper cine glass like Irix etc.

    • @xiiiconcepts
      @xiiiconcepts 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe it’s for the character in creating a pseudo filmic cinematic look that can’t be replicated with some of the more modern lenses with modern coatings. It’s a creative choice and decision as all filmmakers should make that’s best for the production.
