  • Today we hear our leaders brag about how little they sleep and it signifies their dedication and work ethic. But what if this is the wrong way around, what if this lack of sleep is causing us (and them) to make poor decisions? Chris explores how our chronic lack of sleep makes us less efficient and hurts our productivity and health.
Christopher M. Barnes is an Associate Professor of Management in the Foster School of Business of the University of Washington. His research examines human sustainability issues, especially the relationship between sleep and work. His research has been published in top tier management and psychology journals, such as Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, and Psychological Science. This work has been covered by a variety of mass media outlets, such as The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, BBC World News, Forbes, BusinessWeek, Financial Times, and NPR. He is also a blogger for both Harvard Business Review and Huffington Post.

Really interesting points about sleep, I'm inspired to try to break myself of some bad sleep depriving habits. Great talk.
