I normally use the Rutus Alter 71, often with the Goliath or the 23cm DD coil. Occasionally I use my Minelab Equinox 600 too.

Field hunt up in a day or so, shows ID Gain and -90 - +90 TID in operation.

@@scottscottydog I'm still experimenting with V2 at the moment, but have been running in an adapated Coins program... so Coins, with frequency knocked back to 14000, Iron Volume on at about 5, VCO on and ID Gain on High. Sensitivity I normally run as high as possible and discriminate to 20 - I do keep tinkering with though,
@@tcDetects hi Tony, been out today on ploughed field with new software. I really struggled getting an o.k on ground balance, only once to be honest, best i got was single ! marks and worst ? marks. I was moving around in different places but it just wouldn't have it. How have you found it mate?.
@@scottscottydog Hey there, I've noticed that sometimes get ground balance issue on wet pasture, but I've found it's perfectly stable with a single ? - so that's the second best ground balance you can get.
A single ! actually indicates a worse ground balance than a single ? - have you got them mixed up?
Heey mate, when you are going to film, can you film the tones you get as well mate? I have big trouble with the signals on pasture :S

Sorry, my French is poor but I think you are asking about a carbon fibre shaft for the Rutus? If so, then no one sells one BUT it can be done if your DIY skills are very good

Thanks Tony...looking for advice really...being an old T2 user but looking for a new machine, a change...Ive been thinking about a Rutus Alter 71, would everyone agree it is an upgrade from a T2? Thanks
Hey Chasey, I've not used the T2 so can't compare directly BUT if you look at the features of the Rutus, e.g. 71 frequencies, Dual Mode etc then I think it's one of the best mid-range detectors available and I use it as a preference to my Equinox. And if you are in the UK then Detecnicks still have a great two coil deal on.
