Wouldn't it be good to get those text book high numbers all the time lol. The roman was a very good depth considering its tone and ID no. Filming as usual was spot on. 👌
I won the Deus 2 at Digstock and about to binge your D2 videos. The ones you did in the Deus 1 helped me tremendously and I still watch them even 2 yrs later from when got the Deus 1. I always refer people to your channel bc you teach in a way that I can understand. I appreciate you!

Great video Garry, I switched over to the deus 1 years back when Calabash was bragging on them. Now it sets in my closet and I hunt with the deus 2 and love it. I've never tried full tones it's always been 5 tones but never the less I picked up a tip from this video. You always put up some great videos. Have a great day!

Another good example of the possibilities of deus ii. I use five tones and sometimes full tones. With good sound separation in five tones divide in : 6/36/52/78/100. I think I have better separation, and sound clearer with more depth than three tones.!!! Reactivity : 1.5 (3 on wet ground) with impressive results. Sensitivity stuck at 95 with no problem. Mi6 gets confused in the wet soil, but never misses its goal. Greetings from Greece, (keep the) great job Gary!!!

Good one Gary, I love watching the way you work! I have quickly become a fan of full tone ("hot") with my Deus1, so it is good to see that it sounds similar on the D2. I will say that permission has great soil! Recently everywhere I have been has been super flinty, mud soup, or a combination of both! LOL! Thanks for the videos & passing on your knowledge.
These foil signals foiled me often enough with the Deus 1, so I tended to ignore them. Deus 2 was an eye opener here - I dug a lot of foil in the 50s range, but also buttons, pieces of buckles, thin medieval silver coins... (But I still mostly ignore values below 37, since there is a large increase in the foil components.) I did like the full tones in Deus 1 and in the first firmware releases of Deus 2, but now not so much anymore. They seem to be much less clear nowadays.

Thanks Gary, great video as always. I too struggle with pin pointing on the deus2. Maybe a quick eyes on tutorial showing the sweep and pin point location from above and side so it’s a little easier for us not so successful pin pointers to see. I myself struggle knowing exactly where on the coil the tone is at it’s strongest. Is it the tip, half way down the 12 o’clock arm or dead centre? Hope that makes sense? Thanks again.

You did not dig iron but you might have lost some high conductors by this. The reason is that the D2 often gives an iron tone when you have HC. Is it possible to fix that problem with an update? We found a large silver fibula with TID of 50 and slight iron tones?
Sid from English history ran a raised nail test and it couldn't hit on a silver coin in full tones, every other tones but that one. And I heard from other pros it's not sounding off on some oddly shaped targets.. Do you know anything about this and if so is it in the works to get fixed with the new update? Because after watching that test and hearing about other problems in full tones I've moved to five tones. Any imput would be greatly appreciated, thanks. Love all of your vids!
Hi Gary, I've picked up a Deus 1 about a month ago and need some help. I've been watching a lot of your vids and learnt a lot. I'm in Cornwall and I've got a question about ground balance. My sites tend to have a soil reading of about 75. Should I be setting the GB manually or tracking? If I use tracking or pump I do get a lot of noise as your video suggested and have picked out hot rocks as you also said was likely. Should I just set manually to about 80 which is what I will try next. Sorry for hijacking this Deus 2 video but the comments are turned off on the old videos and I wasn't sure how to ask any other way. Cheers
Hi Gary, I did a hunt today on a site and the mineralization bar was between a third and two thirds full. I manually set the gb to 83 and the ground reading was between 72 and 78. The machine seemed stable enough in sonar. I have the hf coil and set the frequency to the highest level as I am searching mainly for silver coins(not that I find many lol). After an hour searching on seaded and rolled and long pasture all I found was lead of varying sizes. This was just a coincidence I assume but strange. Will setting the gb manually to 83 instead of 88 affect anything except the depth? Thanks
Hi Andy Interesting, thanks for your thoughts. Ground balance is a tricky subject. Below 86 and your coil can be sensitive to knocks. However on mineralised ground, a true ground balance can settle the machine. I run 88 most of the time as it eliminates hot rocks and keeps the coil stable.

I dont use it as much as i should i find the high tones are a little to high for my hearing sometimes i think am i detecting and i am not hearing the littel squeaks what can be the deep on or small .i prefer 3 tones or pitch on d2 that way i can adjust to suit me
It’s all hype can’t tell any difference with multiple frequencies with these new ones orx does just as good with a lot lower price point some people are on a budget this same technology came out in the 90s with whites detectors their not around any more

May I suggest you talk with local XP users for their settings.

Soil readings mean nothing unless you have a high mineralisation bar.
I always use manual 88, never tracking.

I think the bigger coils will give minimal extra depth on a coin sized target.
They give you better ground coverage.
