    Thanks for the lesson. I have been using MCT oil for over 4 months now I just added it to my normal grocery bill. I have Hypothyroidism, Obesity, Pre-Diabetes and the oil helps with brain fog, satiety , weight loss and help reshape my body. About few months ago, I gave up starches and sugar and I used to have bad cravings but soon as I begun taking 2Tbs of MCT oil everyday in my ACV or green tea all symptoms disappear. My HgbA1c and glucose reading improve to the point that my Endocrinologist and Family doctor asked me what I was doing. I did not tell them because I have realized conventional doctors are not giving me what I need to fix my myriad of health issues.
    I have forgotten to also mention because of giving up starches, sugar and taking MCT Oil I don’t have to take the medication Lyrica ( 4 tabs a day) anymore for Nerve pain in hands and feet.
    Keep up the good work you and others in providing comprehensive information for us to have choices to try diverse alternatives.

      PEMDAS is the worst thing to teach kids because they incorrectly do them in order (multiply, then divide, then add, then subtract).
      It should be PE(MD)(AS). You do multiply and divide together left to right, then add and subtract together left to right.
      Every social media math problem uses this teaching failure to stump all the poorly educated folks who had public American education.

    Just wanted to give you heartfelt thanks for this. I started Keto a month ago not so much for weight loss but for general health and well-being. I was skeptical at first about adding MCT oil to my butter coffee, but I couldn’t figure out WHY I felt more energized and focused after only ONE cup of coffee (used to drink 4). Please keep putting out science-based vids explaining the benefits (and potential detriments) of Keto diet attributes. Thanks again.

When you take the brain octane oil I am sure I can instantaneously feel the MCTs taking effect and I have the most amazing clarity of thought and stamina for the rest of the day.

    • @Missy-Leigh
      @Missy-Leigh ปีที่แล้ว

      I prefer Dr. Ken Berry. Dr. Berg seemed off to me but who am I, right? Nobody. And he seemed to be helping so many people. So I didn’t think much of it until it came to light that he’s deep into the church of Scientology and a large portion of the proceeds from his overpriced supplements go to that Church. Then when I saw the way he treated his own son, I thought: so that’s why Berg set off my spidey senses. But to each his own. He’s not forcing his beliefs on his audience and he is free to worship wherever he wants. I guess it all boils down to whether people are willing to make purchases that benefit a “church” that has traumatized so many.

    We can live quite well with no "man"-made MCTs. We get some from coconut oil, which should be sufficient.

      Yes, but with MCT oil, you can make mayonnaise.

    Thomas refreshing perfect presentation! Old-timers like me really appreciate good grammar, clear enunciation and perfect pronunciation of technical terms (I'm a scientist). Also free of accent or...what's it called? 'Gangsta' talk? Whatever! Thanks again!

    I love how you broke down the chemistry aspect along with the physiology of these oils in the body. Only question is, “Does MCT also bypass the Krebs cycle?”

    If MCTs are easier to digest than LCTs, it seems logical that the short-chain triglycerides would be even better. I’m guessing that’s not the case. Can you explain?

    • @Edward-pd9qi
      @Edward-pd9qi 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just looked it up. Short chain fatty acids are produced when fibre is fermented. If taken directly from our diet I think they are absorbed too quickly so we don't get as much benefit.

    • @MrBluebirdOnMyShoulder
      @MrBluebirdOnMyShoulder 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Edward-pd9qi The microbiome in the large intestine takes care of this for us. The fibre feeds the good bacteria, and they produce chemical messengers and hormones for the rest of the body. So, basically, you are right.

    Question: I have 2 bigs issues since I am on the ketogenic diet: first is a very bad constipation. Nothing seem’s to work. I almost hope that I will react to MCT 😉 my other concern is that I have alot of hot flashes since I started the diet. Any suggestions?
