Just got off the phone with whirlpool for my ice maker and they were gonna send someone out for a minimum of $150. Dude chuckled when I said I would consult with TH-cam first, but literally the first video I searched and viola. Thank you!
I would have never thought to look at the wires! Yours is the only video I could find suggesting to do so and sure enough, all but one wire were severed. Repaired the wires and have ice and the dispenser is working again. So glad I came across your video before spending hundreds on unnecessary parts. Thank you!
OMFG. I am 55 years old and am so clueless about household repair that I have never tried a DIY in my life. I waste so much money on “experts” who always tell me I need a new unit. With this fridge, I was SO pissed that my ice machine stopped working only 5 weeks after my warranty so I had to try this. This video was so helpful (along with another video about how to splice a wire 😬) and with all the positive comments, I thought, I can do this. Well, you should have heard me scream when the first ice cube dropped. THANK YOU!
5 yr old Whirlpool here. Suddenly stopped making ice. Found this vid, checked below - two wires out. You saved me time, money and a major headache -- THANK YOU.
Wow, All I can say is thank you! I have the same model, same problem. When I got to the part of your video that showed the cut wires I paused it, took a look at mine and said "are you "bleeping" kidding me??? 🤣😂🤣
Thanks for the video. My ice maker stopped yesterday and I've been trouble shooting all day. Looked at my wiring and, sure enough, about 5 wires broken. Now I have a project for Sunday.
You're a legend. Thank you for this. I wonder how many thousands or hundreds of thousands of fridges share this same absurd defect. Glad I spent zero dollars to repair this thing before finding your video!
THANK YOU!!! I never comment on social media things but this video saved me so much money and further frustration. Also, I wanted to comment for those who come across this issue in the future: don’t panic if you fix the wires and still don’t get ice right away. Give it about 24 hours or so before you continue to panic or troubleshoot further. It took my fridge about 15 hours from the time I was finished repairing the wires to begin making ice again. At first I worried I had done the repair incorrectly and there was something else to fix, and frustratedly told myself I’d try again the next day, but in the middle of the night I heard ice dump into the bin. It would not be a lie to say I jumped up and did a little dance once I realized what I heard! THANK YOU AGAIN!! Shame on Whirlpool but thank God for community and those like yourself who are willing to share knowledge with their neighbor, even if we’re spread across the world
@@creddtx I stripped wires on both sites and twisted them together really tight then wrapped in electrical tape. There are some connectors out there for this but what I did seems to be working. Just be careful on the wires that go into the door. Don't make a mistake because you only have small amount of wire to work with. I've cut some by mistake but was still able to make connection.
Thanks, this was helpful as there was no ice maker activity after I connected the wires. Without your comment I would probably mess with it more, but I gave it several hours and started to see ice in the container. It made me quite happy. Thanks!
Dude!!!! I have two of these refrigerators and the ice maker quit on both of them. The whirlpool service guys said new circuit boards that cost almost as much as a new refrigerator. After watching your video , both of them have broken wires exactly where you showed. You ROCK!!!!!!!!!!
I noticed how many recent comments, everyone having the same issue, and sure enough, I'm one of them as well. I had 2 broken wires, and 2 more with some nicks in the insulation. I fixed the broken ones with heat shrink butt connectors, for which I just had to crimp them and heat them. Kinda crazy how we're all having the same issue at about the same time. My model is WRS526SIAE00. Thanks for the tip!
OMG!!! We have been living without ice for about 3-4 years and had to buy it or go old school ice trays. I tried other fixes from different videos throughout the years and nothing worked. I was about to get replacement and decided to look for another answer before going in that direction. Clearly, I had looked before you posted this video. ...I open the door look down and much to my surprise, we have the same problem. At least 3 of the wires are cut in half. I'm hoping this fine will end in a fixed ice machine. Thank you motofun! Really! I can't thank you enough! Now off to my next new project! Blessings!
I know your excitement, because I was the same way. You don’t realize how much you miss ice, until it gone!!! Good luck on the repair. Here’s to a big glass of ice…🧊 Please help me by subscribing. Thank you.
Lol. No. I just wasn't sleeping very well and I happened to hear it....and again about 1.5 later. Now to figure out if the auger motor is bad or if it fried some of the control board. Flap opens but it won't spin. I'm hoping it is just frozen, but...one step at a time. At least we have ice!
Same for me! I looked yesterday and every single wire was cut except one. THANK YOU motofun!! My husband reconnected and extended the wires yesterday. No water yet, still hoping he fixed it! There's no water to the ice maker, but the arm thing is in the down position to dump the ice. How do we remedy that or does this mean one of the wires isn't connected properly?
I do a lot of appliance repairs and am usually satisfied well with Whirlpool engineers, but this one a horror story. I am SO very appreciative of your help!
My refrigerator is a little over 3 years old. Icemaker not working. I checked the wiring and there are two broken wires.Thankfully I purchased the 5 year extended warranty. Thanks for your video. I would have never thought to look at the wiring.
Thank you for the Video and Data, the Tech charged me 85.00 just for the call service but then he was going to charge me around 300.00 to fix the broken wires. I did it myself, stripped the wires and then solder them. ice maker working again, saved over 300.00. thank you again.
So happy I found your video. My mom's ice maker stopped working and had 2 technicians out and neither one knew this issue. One said the freon was leaking, 2nd guy said the freezer wasn't cold enough. Weird for a certified technician to not be aware of this issue. Thank you so much !! There was 4 broken wires, once repaired it started making ice. Fabulous tip.....Thanks again !!! You made my 86 year old mother very happy
LIke everyone else I just found this video after researching ice maker issues...you just saved me a couple grand on a new fridge. Tomorrow is splice day. Thank you!
this video just saved me from a job turning into nightmare with customer. this video should be the first on searches for these models. I almost charged my customer for a control board after changing auger motor, and ordering new interface control panel. what a waste for a manufacturing defect.
YOU ARE THE MAN! I watched your video then checked my fridge and was literally laughing out loud, the wires are cut. You saved me about $300 because I was gonna buy a new ice maker. Thanks for a great video!!!
Thanks for the video! Ice maker stopped working recently and the control arm was stuck hanging down and figured the ice making unit was bad but your video came up first when I did a search. Figured I’d better just check to make sure, and voila; two severed wires. Followed your directions and had it up and running in less than 30 minutes. You’re right though very tight space to work with trying to strip and splice those wires. If you have kids, have them help. Their small hands are perfect for this job lol.
I can only imagine how much money you just saved us. Just HAPPENED across your video after watching SO MANY videos trying to troubleshoot our ice maker. THIS WAS IT! THANK YOUUUUU
Thanks saved me at least $200 in a service visit and repair cost, after weeks of my wife in my ear about it, found your video and repaired it in 30min had ice the next morning
Fixed my wires this weekend. I had to resolder all my broken wires. After powering up the refrigerator I was able to get my ice maker operational. These videos help isolate the cause of this issue.
Bro! You’re an absolute legend. My ice maker stopped working within the last year. My wife has been on me to get a new refrigerator. Sure enough that wiring harness was too tight and 3 of 5 wires were cut. Thanks to you, we now have ice again! My wife should be sending you $5.
This has to be most certainly a “manufacturer defect” and “engineering design flaw” Has anyone attempted to get whirlpool to fix this undeniable widespread issue under a manufacturer deficiency?
@@DavidPalmer-vv6zb Not sure anyone has taken the time to fight the corporate beasts. I’m willing to bet more people would rather spend 30 minutes to an hour for the repair than discussing the issue with customer service. Probably chalked up to “normal wear” and likely happens to most of us after manufacturer warranty period. I’m just grateful to have ice again. I’m fortunate that I had all the necessary wiring knick knacks to fix it without a trip to the hardware store.
@@JonCastleIV good job but you are probably in a minority as many older folks don’t have the tools or knowledge to repair and end up paying more money for a refrigerator only one or two years old. Unconscionable!
@@DavidPalmer-vv6zb maybe so. I do also wonder if it was factory assembly Vs. Assembled by the store where we bought it. There were a few screw holes on the base of the fridge. The one selected didn’t give as much play in the wiring as two other spots that were available to screw the harness holder into. Watch out for Whirlpool I suppose. Buyer beware. Maybe @motofun should do a video showing the repair technique he used…
Great find. On my Whirlpool wrs571cidm0 I found only the yellow wire was broken in the harness. I stripped the ends and resoldered it (sliding on some small gauge heat shrink over the yellow wire before soldering). Slid the heat shrink back over it and taped the harness. I wouldn't have thought to look under the door. Thanks, you saved me a lot of trouble and expense.
This video was the first video to come up in my search and was exactly my issue. Huge thank you to the creator who avoided me unnecessary stress and anxiety. THANK YOU!
Thank you so much! You saved me a lot of money-I was about to order the entire assembly. I gave a thumbs up and subscribed; it's the least I can do. Thanks again!
Every single one of the wires were sliced clean when I checked and the protector had maybe a half of an inch left before the whole thing was detached. Insane. I hate this fridge so much. Fridge portion has never worked right, always freezing stuff from day one. No room in freezer for anything really. Can't even fit a pizza without turning it sideways. This video helped me so much. I was driving myself crazy trying to figure out why the ice would not work. Will have to learn how to fix wires though lol XD
I used this video to splice the wires together. Just strip Enough of the wire covers off, twist them Together and secure with electrical tape. Then wrap the entire wire bundle itself in electrical tape. th-cam.com/video/ihpNCVk1lF0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=v5J9Ar_jcZLoehf_
5 year Kitchenaid. Ice maker stopped working 6 months ago. Technician I spoke to on the phone told me it was the control panel and that it would cost over $500 to fix. I just saw your video and did what you suggested. Yup… two wires were cut! Thank you very much!!!
OMG...I just viewed your video and THAT was the problem. I haven't not ice for 3 years and have been using a electric ice maker. I had 2 service people and could find it. Thank you SO much Sir!
Ours stopped working after a couple months, that was 9 years ago. Checked yesterday and I had 7 out of 9 wires broken! Amazingly, all the functions in the door worked except ice. Soldered the 7 wires and it made ice after a few hours!
Dude!! My ice machine also stopped working. I've been on the phone multiple times with Whirlpool with no resolve. Just seen this video walked over to my fridge, and my wires are also torn. Looks like only 1 black wire. Thanks for the video I would have never looked at those wires.
This video has saved me alot of stress. My ice maker stopped working for almost 2 months. Replaced the filter and nothing worked until I came across this video. My ice maker started producing ice after couple of hours. Thanks for the great information
Do you mean you need to wait couple of hours for it starts making ice? What happened in between? I fix the wires an hour ago, But nothing is happening right now.
wow ! what a revelation in this vdo, I just watched it, opened the freezer door and checked the bottom corner where wires pass, two of the wires are cut completely and my ice maker is not working for over a month, water is working so far and I guess that will stop after a while as well. Thank you, I am gonna fix those wires and see if the ice maker starts working back !!
Thank you so much for this video. I too, had the same problem with my two year old Whirlpool double door refrigerator. I was told by a Whirlpool repair tech that four wires were cut and that I had to replace the entire door for $1100.00. We did the repair ourselves, and now we have ice. Shame on you Whirlpool and again, that you!.
My whirlpool side by side has the same backstory as yours. Over a year with no ice. I had literally nothing to do today so I looked up this issue and your video popped up first. I opened my freezer door and long behold..5 wires are ripped. Thanks you. My wife was looking at a replacement refrigerator that cost over 3 grand. Took me about 8 hours because after I extended the wires it still wouldn't produce ice so I went back and redid all the wires and tested for continuity. After all wires we confirmed to be good we finally have ice. Thank you good sir. I will subscribe and like. You're the man. I'm pretty handy around the house but very few projects have cost me 0 dollars. I had everything needed for the repairs. Very grateful! Thanks for the fix. I'm sure this has helped countless people. Good luck on your channel.
@@motofun72 Did your wires end up cut again after the fix? I'm just dealing with this issue and trying to figure out how I can possibly do it once properly and be done with it. Your video gave me hope that it can be fixed, but your reply here leads me to believe I'm fooling myself now.
Dude, you are a lifesaver. Our freezer just stopped making ice a couple of days ago. One of the wires was indeed broken. Thanks for the great walkthrough.
Just like many of the other posts that I just read, my icemaker on the same model was not working. I called the company first and they told me that they could send out a technician to diagnose the problem. The initial diagnosis was going to cost well over $100. The rep from the company also suggested that I just get a new icemaker. I tried instead using a hairdryer to loosen up any clogs, and that still didn’t work. I almost ordered an icemaker and then saw your video. Many thanks to you, because sure enough, just like all the other posts, there was one wire that was split. It took me 10 minutes to fix it - a couple hours later I heard ice dropping down into the tray. What a beautiful sound that was and thank you again!
This was my exact issue! I spent months trying to figure it out until I stumbled upon this video. I used splices to reattach the wires to each other last night and this morning we have ice! . All in all took about 45 mins as I had 6 wires cut.
Awesome video. Ice stopped dispensing about a year ago. And now the ice maker is stuck upside down. After watching this I found 3 wires broke at the same spot. Thank you for this video
Found your vid after trying to figure mine out for 7 months. The home warranty people said they had no one in my area and I could not find anyone in my area to troubleshoot it. Exactly the same problem. Thanks for posting.
I have the same poorly designed issue with my 6 year old KitchenAid side-by-side. All my wires are broke,n and no ice for about 2 years. I’ll fix it (and thanks for sharing your troubleshooting and repair). My concern as others noted, I anticipate this repair will only be temporary. Over time, I’m sure the wires will brake again. Very frustrating though to say the least.
I have a Kenmore cold spot with the same problem. It's only 4 years old. Had a repair man out today and he said they would have to replace the entire freezer door, $1,845.00. I only paid $1,099.00 for the entire fridge; new. I'll attempt this fix this weekend. Thanks for posting.
Thank you for the video, my was doing the same thing after a year. I went and checked the wires as you showed, and guess what? Yeap, I found the yellow and the black wires cut. I reconnected them, now I just hope it makes ice again. Once again, Thank you for the video. Very instructional
I couldn't thank you enough for this!!! You're a rock star!!!! I am a divorced lady who is very proud of herself for doing this myself and I never brag!! LOL
We have the identical fridge in the video. Stopped making ice. I found this video, and we also had several broken wires. Repaired the wires, we’re making ice again! Thank you!!
Had same issue with mine, was the wires also. Soldered them back together this morning around 10am but it hasn't made or dropped a tray of ice since it's been repaired. Going on 7 hours no ice made..any idea how long it takes your guys units to make and drop a tray of ice
My whirlpool is 18 months old and stopped making ice today. Saw your video and thought no way the wires can fail in 18 months. Wrong. Wiring failure. I bet whirlpool knows this and is not warning owners of the problem that they caused. Thanks for the video.
Same with me. I called them and they played dumb. They said they would pay for parts, but I had to use one of their service guys snd I had to pay labor. Good luck! Please help me by subscribing. Easy to do the wires myself.
Five stars dude! Mine was only slightly more irritating with a clamped down cable under the fridge. Pulled it out and called it a day and thru screw away to extend wires. I also had 7 severed wires. Such a design flaw. Thx so much, it’s working!!
I had the same problem with the wires ripped apart by opening the door. Poor design by whirlpool. I have the refrigerator for 2+ years and have never even get to use the ice maker once yet. This video was helpful.
Ice maker quit working last summer. Finally did some research and found your video. Found yellow wire torn, maybe more. Gonna fix this ASAP. Thanks friend.
MY MAN!! I ordered a replacement ice tray mechanism up top (still didn’t work). Just found your video, got down and my black wire is broken. Thank you for posting this!
I have the SAME EXACT problem!!! Same exact fridge. I bought it 6 years ago, so it's "Out of Warranty". Absolutely REDICULIOUS!!!!! Thank you for showing this and validating my frustration!!! Soooooo stupid!
Same exact issue after 6 years. Almost ordered the auger motor, and saw this video and yup, wires are cut. Great job to the OP. Thx. Will have to contact an electrician now.
Same exact issue after 6 years. Almost ordered the auger motor, and saw this video and yup, wires are cut. Great job to the OP. Thx. Will have to contact an electrician now.
Thank you for posting this. I wish I had seen it sooner. I wasted $350 on 1st - solenoid valves, 2nd - icemaker unit, and finally - electronic control board (non-returnable). I was like, there's nothing else it could be except wiring, but how could the wiring go bad? I was searching for how to access the built-in diagnostics when I came across your video. I just checked, and yep, 2 broken wires. Really disappointed in Whirlpool!
Thanks for the video. I replaced our icemaker a year ago after it stopped working. New unit still did not work. Resorted to dumping bagged ice into the hopper and continued to use the ice dispenser until it recently stopped working. While researching the problem again I came across your video. Sure enough, all but one of the wires were broken. Spliced all of the wires back together and now we are making ice again!
Did the same thing by buying bagged ice for a year, until I decided to dig deeper into the issue. Enjoy the full glass of ice! Please help me by subscribing. Thanks.
Thank you! Ice maker just stopped after 4 years, looked here and yellow is split and black is almost done. Easy fix thanks to you catching it for the rest of us!
I want to thank you for this. Mine stopped making ice about 6 months ago. I bought a new replacement icemaker part and was looking for installation videos when I saw your video. My wires on model WRS588FIHV00 look just like yours. Broken. Has anyone told Whirlpool or complained to them? Again, thank you for the video. At least I didn't install the new icemaker only to have it not work. You saved me time and cursing.
I called them and they said they would cover parts, but I had to pay labor and use their service guys. Good job finding the issue. Please help me by subscribing.
Just found this video 🤯 wires look identical to mine . Got this exact fridge 5 yrs ago . Thank you for the post!!! 🙌🏼 I’m glad I was about to tear this thing apart.
Our dispenser went out about 6 months or so ago and most recently the ice maker stopped working. I found 4 severed wires and now we're back up and running with both. Thanks for taking the time to post your video!
Mine is just over ` year old and SAME DAMN THING! I can't believe Whirlpool hasn't addressed this and won't do anything about it....thanks so much for your video
I almost never get this lucky! This was the very first video I looked at to start solving the icemaker issue! Low and behold, the exact same issue! Thanks boss!!
What a failure in design on Whirlpool’s part! I want to thank you for this video! I’ve been trying to figure out why my ice maker wouldn’t work…after only having the fridge for two years…which is RIDICULOUS…..and no one could fix it! Not one repair person could make it work! Then I happened upon your video and ran into my kitchen and sure enough all the wires were cut! Thank you for figuring this out for everyone! Bring on the class action suit for sure! Whirlpool should have to refund us all the money we spent trouble shooting this hot mess!
Great video. I spliced in new wires (soldered and shrink tubed both ends) for all eight wires that were going to my ice maker and ice dispenser. Everything works like a champ now. With some careful routing, and stress relief (I used a few well-placed zip ties), I have a wire harness which should dramatically outlast the original design. You saved me a lot of money, hard telling what an appliance tech would have replaced (and charged me for), before finally figuring out what the real problem was.
This has to be most certainly a “manufacturer defect” and “engineering design flaw” Has anyone attempted to get whirlpool to fix this undeniable widespread issue under a manufacturer deficiency?
Thank you much for this information. Using this instructions I was able to fix the ice making issue. The company should be ashamed for having this type of default and not fixing it.
You ARE the Man! Thank you so much for this video! My Kenmore Elite quit making ice. Water dispenser is just fine. I replaced the ice maker, still no ice. I started watching vids and stumbled onto yours. I came in and looked at my wire harness. Mine is IDENTICAL to yours! Torn in the exact same spot. I can’t wait to get busy splicing! God bless you, Brother!
I have a 6 year old fridge with the same problem. It was about two years ago I google this issue. I couldn’t find anything on TH-cam at the time. It was pictures in a forum. Sure enough, I looked at the bottom of the door and there were a lot of broken wires. What a horrible design. No ice for over two years. Can wait to splice the diced wires and get some ice again
Thank you @motofun for this great video. I had 4 broken wires. I repaired them by adding a little extra 18 gauge twist wire in between the break and now have ice again. Note that 3 wires carry no voltage but still works. (green, blue and gray/orange).
Thank you thank you THANK YOU. I got a technician out here to diagnose the issue. You just saved me $485 and it took me less than 45 mins to complete. The ice dispenser is already working!!!! ✊🏽
Thank you for this video. I replace my ice maker before seeing your video. After it didn't work, I found your video and sure enough the wires were broken on the bottom.
I have a similar Whirlpool refrigerator (WRS571CIHV01) and am having the same problem with the ice maker and was able to find this video. Sure, enough I opened the freezer door and looked down below and found the same issue with most being wires pulled apart. Thanks for posting this!
So glad I came across your video! Sure enough I found 4 wires broken! Now we’ll see if my splices will hold. Thanks so much. It’s really appalling that the manufacturer gets away with this. They won’t fool me twice!
Rent a car across your video went to my Whirlpool refrigerator and look down there sure is to do the wires are cut couple of my frame pretty good good catch thanks for the tip hopefully this will fix it
Wish I'd found this before replacing a perfectly good icemaker assembly. Only the black wire is visibly broken but I'm sure others are not far behind. Willing to bet that the black wire is power... will report back if the severed wire isn't the culprit. Big thanks for posting the video!
I am a retired electrical systems trouble shooter=wire stretcher/tube bender. My wife found this video and showed it to me. Long story short, I found two broken wires in exactly the same wire bundle your video showed. The black wire is power to all the guts of the ice maker, the tan is a check to the module for ????? Took me a couple hours to isolate and fix. Used soldering and shrink tubing to reconnect the wires with a additional wire loom back up got us back up and running. Thanks for the insight and thanks to my wife for finding your video. This is not rocket science or require an engineering degree. Whirlpool could have done much much better for an 'American Made Product"! My Wisconsin Old Fashion on the rocks tastes damn good!!!!
Thanks for this video, this was exactly what was wrong with my ice maker. This video saved me money and time. Hopefully my splices last… I loaded up the electrical tape and added the extra slack. Much appreciated!
Mine stopped making Ice yesterday, its 2yrs old. 4 broken wires, I stripped and reconnected real quick 30 min later I was making some ice. I will do a a Permanente repair later in the week. Had a older model in prior home for 5 years never any issue. Great video! I subscribed for you.
Two years old and cut wires. That may be a record. Less than one day without ice? That’s what I’m talking about! Good job getting it done asap! Thanks for subscribing.
Thanks man! the ice maker stopped working earlier this year but i only noticed that several days ago. i checked mine after watching this video. luckily only the yellow wire was cut. i reconnected it and the ice maker now works like a brand new one!
We have the same model. The ice tray twisted and cracked in parts. Replaced that and still no ice. Found five wires cut after watching this video. Fingers crossed that this will fix it. Thanks for posting!!!
Thank You Thank You Thank You You don't realize until you go without. Was without ice for several days. My Black wire was severed. 5 min fix Happy Happy Joy Joy Thank You !!!
Add me to the list. My side by side is a year newer and still. What a bad design in the first place. Thanks for taking your time to post this, once again, youtube saves the day.
You’ve been added to the list of failures. Good news is, soon you will be added to the “ice ice, baby” list very soon! Please help me by subscribing. Thank you!
My fridge is now back and working. A couple tips for those who take on this task: 1. Take the freezer door off the freezer. The cables un plug behind the cover at the bottom of the unit and it's a lot easier to re-solder any wires with the door sitting on a workbench. 2. I took the clip off and ended up feeding the wires through a 2 inch section of pex in an effort to keep this from happening again.
Just got off the phone with whirlpool for my ice maker and they were gonna send someone out for a minimum of $150. Dude chuckled when I said I would consult with TH-cam first, but literally the first video I searched and viola. Thank you!

Here’s to a big glass of ice…🧊

Thanks a bunch. 2:22AM ice started dropping!
@@goldwatereli don’t tell me you were watching/waiting for it? That’s like watching grass grow….lol
Lol.
Well, you may be repairing some with this issue. Good luck!
You’re welcome, glad it helped!
I agree.
YOU ARE THE MAN! I watched your video then checked my fridge and was literally laughing out loud, the wires are cut. You saved me about $300 because I was gonna buy a new ice maker. Thanks for a great video!!!

@@YourFoolishPride What a ASSHOLE statement.
Awesome! Go out and enjoy a nice dinner!
All of my 8 wires were broken. Now my ice maker works again after 2 years!!! Thanks a million for the video

Fixed my wires this weekend. I had to resolder all my broken wires. After powering up the refrigerator I was able to get my ice maker operational. These videos help isolate the cause of this issue.
Hi, how long after powering it back up until it started making ice again?
Bro! You’re an absolute legend. My ice maker stopped working within the last year. My wife has been on me to get a new refrigerator. Sure enough that wiring harness was too tight and 3 of 5 wires were cut. Thanks to you, we now have ice again! My wife should be sending you $5.
Lol. The new refrigerator will have to wait! Please help me by subscribing.
This has to be most certainly a “manufacturer defect” and “engineering design flaw”
Has anyone attempted to get whirlpool to fix this undeniable widespread issue under a manufacturer deficiency?
Maybe @motofun should do a video showing the repair technique he used…
This is exactly what is wrong with my ice maker. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the sub!
Just strip Enough of the wire covers off, twist them
Together and secure with electrical tape. Then wrap the entire wire bundle itself in electrical tape.

Don’t stress, just chill with ice now!!! Glad you got it working again!
Do you mean you need to wait couple of hours for it starts making ice? What happened in between? I fix the wires an hour ago, But nothing is happening right now.
@@yimengdong3519 for me, ice didn’t show up until the next morning. 🤷🏼♂️
wow ! what a revelation in this vdo, I just watched it, opened the freezer door and checked the bottom corner where wires pass, two of the wires are cut completely and my ice maker is not working for over a month, water is working so far and I guess that will stop after a while as well.

This is ingenious. Having to reach inside for ice was such a 3rd world problem! One little blue wire and we are back in business!
They told me the same thing. Good job fixing it. Please help me by subscribing. Thanks.

My fridge is now back and working. A couple tips for those who take on this task:
