Love the crop top! Couple tips for curvy girls who want to do this:
    - mark your sides as well as center front. If you have someone to help, mark your back as well. You're probably going to cut the back shorter than the front.
    - cut the front on a downward curve, and the back on an upward curve. The apexes are at the center front and center back, and they meet at the sides.
    - give yourself an extra couple inches when cutting. Don't know why, but my underbust always ends up eating fabric on shorter shirts.

I am so inspired to try buying second-hand clothes (maybe from my closet?) to up-cycle! It's just as creative, if not more so, as sewing from scratch. I absolutely love how you redesigned the polka-dot dress!

I love this so much! I see a lot of thrift flips that just take really large items and simply use the fabric to make an entirely different piece. While I still really like those flips, I really love to see you trying to use all the fabric in the original piece and keeping its general shape! I think 1) its good for reducing waste and 2) keeps the original details!

The polka dot dress is brilliant! The crop top is cute, but the uneven button arrangement is a little aggravating to my OCD eyes! Cute colors, very becoming.

I love these ideas. So often I see people up-cycling their thrift finds, but instead of making them cute and modest, they end up cutting off too much fabric and the end result is, more often than not, making their up-cycle look cheap. They show too much skin. I appreciate your style and modesty.

For the first piece to utilize the button holes that were already there you could have just taken the front two pieces off, moved it up and cut a new two pieces with the neck line higher up. Sewn the pieces back together and then cropped the bottom. Then the button placing would have been even & there wouldn't be any tugging in the bust line to try and force a V shaped neckline inwards.

Great video as always, Janelle! Today I found a few pieces of fabric at the flea market, and one of them is so you! It’a nice mix of berry/rust color and I think it will be perfect for Fall (I’m in Canada)! 🤗 I’m curious to know what you will make of the leftover fabric of the rust dress... Scrunchies? Or a new video for scrap projects? Love these!

It's so inspiring watching your videos. Thank you, Janelle!! I love the crop top!! 😍 Did you create a skirt with the rest of the fabric? For the dress, I would have probably added a cloth belt with a ribbon on the hips. 😊

Can't you make a tutorial about how to make your Rosa dress V-necked? Would love to be able to both change the sleeves and neckline up!
Love ur channel and all your clothes

Amazing results! Do you have anything planned for the skirt scrap left over from the crop top?

Thank you 🧡 Yes I plan to make a batch of scrunchies from the left over fabric! I like to send them out with pattern orders (once I find some elastic to actually be able to make them) 😊
