Mister Zimi here in Aus. Some people love it, but for me I bought loads ($$$!) and then felt frumpy, overly floral and too obviously ‘brand’ wearing! X
Took me decades to learn that the only patterns I don't get bored by are stripes and polka dots. I love both, but everything else - florals, geometrics, abstract, whatever - I'm bored rigid after a few months and they end up going in the charity box.
I thought of you today because a site that I was on wanted me to spend “just $20 more for free shipping!” & I was like “no, this all I wanted, I will not be tricked by free shipping!” 😂 It worked; I walked away with only what I originally liked!🎉
With the utmost kindness, please let go of the orange sweater, even as a layer. You deserve to absolutely adore your pop of color, not feel like it just suffices.
100% agree, and that's such a nice way of putting it. A sweater in a colour that looks amazing on you is going to do a much better job when used in this "accessory" way, and you'll also be able to wear it as a regular item of clothing, so it's much more versatile. It's time to let it go, and take the lesson that if you are going to dabble in colour, stick to the ones that your friend who's an expert in colour told you look great on you, if you don't trust your own eye yet.
Agree. But as Christina's skin is almost neutral she can get away with it. The problem is the shape of the cardigan is too boxy it's cutting her off at the wrong place, at the upper hip. It needs to be longer and a v neck not round neck. Plus the black is awful it's a very harsh combination with red, it's very ageing as a combination. White and red is too much like Christmas colours. A more sympathetic combination is greige or taupe with red it makes the red pop. Or hot pink with red. It sounds awful but it can look very effective. But not with that yellow-red, it needs to be in the blues as you say. I would not wear that red with navy or you end up looking like a bank teller or flight steward. It's a tricky business. I love navy on a winter colouring but make it something with a lot or style in the shaping. I would wear more structured clothing to get a nipped in waist and a slimming effect. The cardigan, just no. We've all been there!
I like how you go through your thought process in detail, that's helpful. I think the worst part of the milkmaid dress is its color. Possibly in a deep teal or chocolate brown it might have more "edge." The white just looks like a nightgown, no matter what the silhouette.
I agree. The length and style together with the white are not working. Especially with the jacket it made me think of a nun - I know a nun wouldn’t probably wear that motorcycle type jacket but it’s the combination of black and long white dress.
It washes Christina's skin out. She's a sporty type and is gravitating towards that. the dress is too romantic and she's instinctively uncomfortable with that. I'd wear shirt dresses open necked with no pattern or just soft vertical stripes. Shoes need to be more middle of the road, Christina's a classic type or sporty; only classic or preppy styles suit her. Oversized too slouchy is too extreme and overwhelming.
That's what most clothing in white remind me off, innerwear or sleepwear. Those white tiered skirts are like slips under Victorian era dresses. I can't unsee it sometimes
While the "milkmaid" dress looks great and is flattering on you, I can totally see how it isn't your style. Meanwhile your greyed teal blazer is fabulous!
Christina, I have the same struggles with gold jewelry. And what I’ve started doing to offset the color imbalance is pairing it with silver and/or pearls. For me, mixing other necklaces with the pearls makes them less fussy and prim, and the white, for me at least, counterbalances the yellow tones that can be problematic with my undertone. Mixing metals is helpful! I also find that brushed gold looks a lot better on me and when you pair it with very shiny gold there’s a texture mix that also works. I’ve discovered that playing with texture in jewelry can lift an outfit as much as the textures of fabric.
Thanks for the great idea! I love yellow and rose gold most myself. I go through phases though and glad there is a way to repurpose white gold and pieces lesser worn. It doesn't have to be all or nothing. Thanks again 😊
Yes, same for me with yellow gold jewelry. It was/is so on trend (since most of us have been wearing a lot of silver for so many years, I think). But I also have a pinkish/neutral skin tone and cool colors look way better on me. Still, I have a couple of yellow jewelry and heirloom pieces I love, so I pair my golden pendants with silver necklaces or I mix gold and silver bracelets. But with earrings and short necklaces I tend more to silver/white gold pieces.
I've always preferred silver to gold and didn't realise it was because of my skin tone. (very pale). I love the idea of mixing the metals. When I was a younger woman, people tended to wear either gold or silver, never both together. I am going to come out of my comfort zone and experiment. It will give me a chance to wear my gold pieces instead of leaving them lying in a box. It will be good to wear pearls more regularly as I love them but as you say they can look a bit fussy on their own ❤
I’m glad you kept the red cardigan for the reasons you ended up mentioning. As I was watching (before I got to the part where you said you are keeping it) I was saying to myself, “wear it around your waist or shoulders” - that’s what I did with a fine red cashmere sweater that got a big moth hole!
Depending on where the moth hole was, my mom would embroider something over it. Cashmere is just soooo expensive (& comfortable) she couldn’t bear to throw it away. I do the same if possible but my style is simpler so it’s harder for me to find something ‘acceptable’ to embroider over a hole.
Such a relatable video. I try to be very mindful with the new pieces that I buy. But inevitably I sometimes make the wrong choice. It's reassuring to hear how you've problem solved and let go of pieces you tried to make work. Sometimes it’s just not meant to be!
You just validated me on cardigans! I have wanted to love them forever, but whenever I buy one, I feel like it oddly either makes me look like a child going to church or a much older woman. I've given up trying to make them work and embraced other pieces for layering, but I appreciated hearing someone else has struggled with this super classic type pf clothing!
Great video! I love your mind set. One thing I've learned from my mistakes is that oversized tops don't flatter me. They make me look bigger than I really am. On my weight loss journey, I told myself that if I bought the larger sized pieces that they would just look oversized once I slimmed down but it didn't work out that way. I looked swamped. I bought way too many pieces in my larger size, but honestly I wasn't sure if I'd ever get the weight off.
same here. I am a curvy, tall lady and sometimes when a L is a bit short on me I'll still wear it because it's always way more flattering on me than a baggy XL.
@@seltzermint5 Same! I'm glad you figured out what works for you. It helps a save money. Truthfully I'm surprised this oversized trend has lasted as long as it has. I know it's really comfortable and casual is the style, but a lot of people are wearing it and it's just not flattering on everyone.
Thanks for sharing! My wardrobe flops; loungewear trousers without pockets, no drawstring/fake drawstring, long and wide leg so having to watch it didn't drag on floor, especially in bathrooms. Just bought a few trousers that have none of these issues
Your videos always make me so happy/comforted to watch- which i think is special because it's becoming more and more rare with social media and the rise of influencers. Your values and style tips have inspired me tremendously haha, and I love hearing about your fitness journey too! Thank you Christina, can't wait to see what you post next!!
Thanks so much for this. I see endless videos about new clothes and some about restyling items a person already owns, but seeing a video about things that just don’t ultimately work are so rare. It makes me feel much better about letting go of things I like objectively, but which just don’t work for me on me.
Haha I love cardigans and hate blazers! Blazers look great on you. I think you benefit from their structure due to the slope of your shoulders… great advice!
I love knitwear. I have slopey shoulders but no developed traps. I would wear blazers as I think they're really cool but having a pears ish shaped body it's hard to find something that fits. An oversized blazer would fit but I hate that style of blazer 😅
I bought a nice cardigan in the sales with 30% of wool. That should be a good thing, but my skin doesn't tolerate wool, it gets really itchy and uncomfortable. And I knew about it, I tried it on it shop and I thought I could handle it. Well, I can't...
@@kathrynp7595 For me it's this irritating scratchy feeling that I can't stand. And knowing about it, I still bought the cardigan, because I liked the way it looked on me... :/
Disappointing… if you can’t return, last resort you could look up conditioning wool with woolite or other gentle soap to get it less scratchy. I tried it once and it did take some edge off
You know what has helped me save some of the on the fence pieces - dyeing the clothes. If it's natural fibre (cotton, wool, viscose, silk) it can be done quite cheaply and easily. I guess you have to enjoy making a bit of a mess 😅. But I believe the white dress would be right up your alley if it was toned down to some greyish, tealish tones, or deeper, smokier jewel tone.
Good choice to declutter the white dress and New Balance sneakers. Although I love my New Balance sneakers for my morning walks and working out. I did like the loafers on you, though. I have a light navy cardigan that I also use to only wear across my shoulders, but I am a cardigan girl and have many that I actually wear as cardigans. My daughter just came to visit and I had several items that I decluttered and she added them to her wardrobe. Yeah!
I like your reasoning why you are keeping or decluttering certain items. I’m doing the same, but feel incredibly guilty for donating my items as they aren’t that old (2-3years). I want to keep them longer. But I am trying to come to terms with the fact that I’m older, I’ve had major surgery which has changed my upper body and that I’ve fluctuated in weight due to stress. I always keep thinking, maybe I should keep them but then I look at the items that are an immediate yes and compare to the ones I’m unsure of which makes it easier. I take notes so that I don’t make the same mistake again. Thank you for another great video💙
Sometimes I put clothes in a container and store them away for a year. Then I bring them back to see if I missed them or still like them. I don’t immediately let them go
Youre definitely right that the button down is a little too short! At this length its kinda stuck in only the office wear category as opposed to being a more versatile piece like your other button downs
Just a few ideas i was thinking when you were going through your clothes, have you thought about having the white dress dyed or having the neckline tailored to a shape you like. Also as far as the red cardigan, I think wearing a pattern with it or a graphic would be really nice and take your eye away from what you dont like about it.
recent declutter: a t-shirt where the scoop was too large & the sleeves stopped right in the middle of my upper arm. i like my Ts crew & sleeves almost to my elbow
Yay Christina! Another great video from you! Always appreciate your honesty, humility and humor! Don’t give up on red! Find the RIGHT red for you. Maybe some red Addidas Sambas styled with dark navy or the brown that works for you. Or a red tank in the right red color for you. Red and black are VERY hard to pull off. Unless just a red bag or shoes with a black outfit. I’ve never liked intense bright colors with black. I think black is best styled with camel, brown and navy.
I feel the same way about chunky shoes!!❤ I bought a new pair of all white dad shoes to replace my dying low profile white shoes I wore out. But I hate them on me for the same reason. I’m 5’2” and prefer to have a more slim shoe on the bottom. ❤
Lovely video, Christina. You're so right about that cardigan - not a nice colour at all! Plus, you are such a blazer girl - they suit you so, so well and the cardigan didn't. Thanks for your lovely videos. They are always entertaining.
Heavy shoes are on the way out. Sambas are the best I love them. I don’t like cardigans either , I have tried but nope. Love the blazer you are wearing.
Love your videos, Christina! My style is quite different from yours, but this video really resonated with me. I think we all like to experiment with trends, but this illustrates how helpful it is to understand how coloring and body type affect how we look and feel in our clothing. I think most of us know what looks good on us, but don't really know why. In your case, you have a long torso and short legs, so it is not surprising that the looks that work with chunky loafers (slim, cropped pants, ankle socks) would not work with your natural proportions. Ditto with the shirt that shrunk and even the cardigan, as they are too short for your torso. Conversely, you look fabulous in long, wide leg trousers which elongate your legs and highlight your narrow waist, and you can really pull off the oversized blazer look. There's a reason you have gravitated toward your signature style, because it flatters your body type. That's why it's so helpful to watch videos like these and hear how you analyze and learn from your missteps. Decluttering only five purchases is a pretty good batting average, BTW!
I got my sambas after watching your video and they are my most worn shoes now. They look great and minimalist but also very comfortable for walking long hours. So happy with them.
The loafer segment completely cracked me up. I’m completely obsessed with loafers! I totally stole the outfit idea that Allison gave to you with the jeans, red socks, and the black loafers. I get compliments on it every single time I wear it! I got some o blood red thin men’s socks and it’s just a killer combo for me! It’s also nice with black trousers.
This was a fantastic video!!!!!! I was about to buy those loafers and I appreciate the deinfluence because after you said that I realized I feel the same way about chunky shoes - I much prefer my ballet flats, and when I want a less casual shoe, 9 times out of 10 I would likely still reach for my heels instead of loafers.
Great idea to get rid of pieces that don’t make you feel like your best self! And I agree with you about the button up, it’s a beautiful shirt but doesn’t drape the way the other two do because of its length.
So nice to meet you in person on the subway the other day! 😊I have a recent regretful purchase: bought a cute Phillip LIM mini skirt on Poshmark that is sadly too tight on me. I couldn’t pass up the seller’s low offer on the skirt and it was a mistake to buy it on impulse. 😢Live and learn.
I recently bought an oversized shortsleeved button up shirt from Arket just before going on a trip because I thought I "needed" it. Of course I ended up wearing it exactly once for half an hour 🤦♀️ so definitely could have done without. It's just too oversized for my stylewords that are classic, relaxed and sophisticated. Still considering if I can style it for vacations or if I should try to sell it. But I hope I have learned my lesson about buying things just before a vacation that don't fit my style words 🙈
I actually really like that length of the blue shirt on you. The longer ones cut you in half whereas this one cuts your proportions more into thirds. I really like that look with it open.
I don't know who told you this, but your legs are NOT thick or chunky. They look nice and proportional to your body (which is on the thinner side anyways).
I am the opposite with shoes. I need chunky shoes because I need to balance out my more top-heavy frame. If I wear slim shoes, it looks like my feet can't carry my weight and I'm about to topple over. It simply looks weird.
The red cardigan can be worn with a fitted white t-shirt or a white tank top with a classic light blue Levi's denim. It works for many and it sure works for me :)
Great video! My regrets are always when I veer away from what I know works for my body. Cropped and boxy was so in this year so I bought several pieces, but they just didn’t work on my long legs/short torso hourglass frame. I knew better but did it anyway.
Wow this video really hit home I have a lot of the same bad purchases. I learned my loafer lesson about ten years ago. I have a blue button down shirt that I got hemmed too short for how wide it is. It was a really nice Boden shirt and I couldn’t get rid of it so it has been repurposed to a beach cover up.
The mistake was the chunky socks. You need a contrast so finer socks and show the ankles, Plus red socks is also a mistake. It draws the eye down to the feet not what you want if you're wanting to look taller. I would not break up the outfit but keep to a monochrome it's better on the eye, and use finer leather woven belts that are tied. Very adaptable.
Hi Christina! I love your videos and your style. Have you considered your Denim crop under the red cardi? Push up the sleeves to 3/4. If it's too much fabric, maybe a sleeveless button up. Thank you! I appreciate all your work and the community you are building with your channel and Sustain This Podcast.❤
Wardrobe flops are part of life😂 I buy dresses 👗 but yet don’t feel comfortable wearing dresses. Heels can’t wear bc of my fasciitis but yes love ❤️ buying & have them in the closet 😮We are just human after all 😂
I bought those same Madewell loafers last year and had a similar experience! They weren’t flattering on me, and I also found the shoe itself quite heavy and stiff- hard to break in. Thanks for reminding us shopping is a learning experience and not every purchase will be perfect!
Great analysis, and thanks for your insights. I think the red cardigan, based on your descriptors, seems a bit too lady-like and not sporty enough. Maybe that's why it feels a bit off, but I do like it as a pop of colour!
Lovely video ❤ I think you are right about the blue shirt being too cropped. As Ellie-Jean pointed out in one video, your silhouette is slim, long and straight, so longer lines tend to look better on you. A longer fitting button down will look more harmonious than a cropped one. I think the same goes for the shoes that fell too chunky. As you got a slimmer frame (like slim bones), even though you have a lovely muscular physique, slim shoes won’t disrupt your lines and look better on you. Maybe this helps to describe why you felt that way about those clothes 😊
One of my flop purchases was this trench coat i bought on poshmark a year or two ago. The beige double breasted trench coat is a classic piece but i've learnt that i prefer darker coats that i can wear open or ones i can at least cinche with any belt. The cost per wear of my Uniqlo raincoat is in the pennies
The milkmaid dress needed to be chopped in the length like a midi dress than a maxi. That’s what it’s missing then the boots are more visible for a semi cowboy look
With the Djerf button down, could it also be the shade? I have similar colouring to you, and the same shirt!, and I find it just a little bit too pale for me. Just washes me out. I notice you have other blue button downs that are that little bit deeper - maybe they suit your colouring a bit better?
I just bought New Balance 530s on Friday before watching this video and already regret it. The fit was off for me and it was an impulsive purchase. Hoping to rehome them asap! Live and learn ❤ Obsessed with your videos, thanks for sharing your content. I look forward to it ❤
It ' s not aways that simple. I tried it several times with my clothes and the fabric was dyed ok but all the sewing string( don't know how it's called correctly) stayed the same and items looked awful and I threw them out😂
@@aigast.4766 I made the same experience - it has to do with the fabric of the sewing string. In larger times they were made out of cotton, today they are made out of other fabrics. For me, it is always a surprise, how it will work - or not…😏
@@aigast.4766 thread you mean. Lol. You can make a dye bath using both types of dye, one for synthetics and one for natural fibres, and it will take; hopefully they come out the same, or close enough to it. I've seen videos here on TH-cam about it.
10:02 I get it. I love cardigans, I see the practicality of a cardigan. I've had multiple...I never wear them. I have one pink one I've used quite a lot...its because i sew it shut, so the buttons lay nicely in a clean line. 😅
I really wanted to love boots. Ankle boots, tall boots…they just don’t work for me. LOVE them on other people, but 1) I live in the southern United States and it just doesn’t get that cold here, and 2) my style is much more breezy and casual. I live in linen trousers half the year and jeans year round, and I prefer to pair them with sandals or sneakers. I also tried the yellow gold trend but I have a cool undertone as well so it’s not the most flattering on me and I feel the difference. Oh, and I tried dresses. Nope. Just not me. It was a great learning experience because now I feel like I truly know my style and I’m much more confident in my style decisions.
Oh noooo! Haha- I live in boots and I’m from Arkansas. I’ll be out in 100 degrees with my doc martens. I am so obsessed with boots I genuinely never considered they weren’t for everyone because they’re so versatile. Interesting!
Just fell upon this video on my home page. Really loved the honesty and insight. Regarding the blue button down, I loved it layered with the black dress, and I felt the length was perfect for that. Maybe keep it just to wear open? Anyway, looking forward to checking out more of your content...new subscriber here. :)
I just subscribed❤ Why? I shopped so much in the last time and decluttered too less. I want more space in my wardrobe and get rid of my bad habit of not shopping my wardrobe. Your content is great and your personal story motivates me. Warm greetings from Germany ❤
The red cardigan would look fantastic over the white dress (which dress needs ironing by the way). Reason I mention ironing is that it makes a huge difference in the clothing appearance and how we feel about certain pieces we wear. The red cardigan will also look great with white/beige/black/ivory "U" shape tank top or dress. Un-button the top two buttons of the cardigan or keep the cardi open and wear some long necklace. The U shape of the tank top along with the long necklace and the unbuttoned cardi will remove the focus from your neck. Additionally wear a red lipstick and put some color to your cheeks. Wear it with a low heel sandal or pump. Try it - the cardigan is very beautiful and the color does fit you, it warms up your complexion exactly because you are pale like me. ;)
I made the same mistake with chunky loafers. I am petite, and have “solid” legs. I usually don’t go for heavy shoes, but I grew up with Weejun penny loafers and was nostalgic about them. I bought black shiny penny loafers similar to yours, but every time I put them on I think they look masculine. I haven’t worked out how to style them to get around that.
I have a similar bottom silhouette Christina and totally related to the "bottom heavy" shoes part. Took me a long time to let go of the idea of chunky shoes, but rarely do I wear them for the same reasons. 😅 love your videos! 💞
Very interesting vid. The white dress is very nice. It may be the wrong cut for your shape. I wonder if it were longer waisted it may work. Matching cuts to our body shape is so important.
Hey Christina! I wanted to know if you had any advice for someone who suffers from the OPPOSITE of impulse buying -- I'm too scared to have buyer's remorse in the future that I really struggle to buy any clothes! I've always been stressed about producing waste, from a monetary and environmental perspective. Ironically, sometimes I get so stressed about it and I say 'screw it' and buy something that, guess what, I regret. I'm about to go off to college, and I'm years behind on wardrobe updates -- I feel like I like nothing I own AND nothing I see in the store. I totally get that this isn't your area of expertise, and I am not speaking against the conscious consumption you promote at all; still, I'd love to hear your balanced perspective.
Hey, I totally get what u mean- possibly starting with shopping at a *curated* second hand store would help to get you moving in a direction ur comfortable with! It’s more consumption friendly, not as hard on ur wallet and usually has a lot of styles to choose from. Both my teens with opposite styles really enjoy the experience of shaping their style slowly without too much buyers remorse. Good luck!
I realize the problem with that white milk maid dress. It needed a tiered ruffle at the bottom third. That would have allowed the length to work. And, it would have showcased your boots, allowing for some edge. As for the high neckline, I think it gives this top edge as the lower necklines of this style tend to be straight across the chest and look awkward. Great video so far! Subscribed!
My worst purchase, a Zara black blazer, totally not me never wore it. However my best purchase ever: a Babaa wooly jumper, amazing and wear it all the time
I have purchased several blazers because I love them on others, including Christina here! I always feel weird in them though, they just do not suit me. The exception is a vintage green short sleeve (weird I know) blazer that looks very cute with a tank or sundress for work. Meanwhile, last fall I picked up a couple of fluorescent green (!) items and they've seen so much wear, I'm shocked (leggings and a fuzzy turtleneck).
Same! Haven’t even bought a blazer although they appear in every minimalist/ capsule wardrobe as a must have 😅 But also totally in love with my babaa cardigans, they’re great and my husband steals one of them regularly so I’m glad I got 2 😁
I'm also not a cardigan girl - tried many times, but I didn't like them buttoned up (might as well wear a crew neck sweater and avoid the button-bunch) and they were too floppy when left open (no structure, did nothing for my figure). Now I am either wearing a blazer, coatigan, or collared shirt if I want the layered look or a crew neck sweater shirt or hoodie if I want the 'closed' look.
Girl you need some lifting shoes! My husband has two pairs and they have been great for him ❤ love hearing you love the sambas, so many people say they’re over hyped but they are on my list in black!
I saw Allison Bournstein style that red colour with rich brown as a neutral. It was a good combo that might suit you. That cardigan should look good under a blazer imo.
Happy Sunday! Let me know your wardrobe flops and what you learned from them!

The cardigan is an orange base red . You should wear a blue based red as it will suit better.
Yes the colour is way too warm. The colour also feels a little too much, even using it as an accessory.
Yesss I can’t do orange red. Blue red is much more dynamic, in my personal opinion.

I like how you go through your thought process in detail, that's helpful. I think the worst part of the milkmaid dress is its color. Possibly in a deep teal or chocolate brown it might have more "edge." The white just looks like a nightgown, no matter what the silhouette.
I agree. The white is definitely the biggest issue. I would dye it a medium blue or plum if not giving it to a friend.
I agree. The length and style together with the white are not working. Especially with the jacket it made me think of a nun - I know a nun wouldn’t probably wear that motorcycle type jacket but it’s the combination of black and long white dress.

I agree with your tips of mixing metals and brushed gold. Looks much better on pale kind of pink skin. All polished gold does not suit me at all.
It will be good to wear pearls more regularly as I love them but as you say they can look a bit fussy on their own ❤
You would look killer in a ruby red or even a burgundy cardigan! That might fill that spot in your wardrobe.
I am impressed that there were so few of them. You know yourself.
I'm the total opposite on shoes - a slim (flat) shoe I feel too visually top heavy! A chunky shoe helped anchor me down
Such a relatable video. I try to be very mindful with the new pieces that I buy. But inevitably I sometimes make the wrong choice. It's reassuring to hear how you've problem solved and let go of pieces you tried to make work. Sometimes it’s just not meant to be!
It is crazy how much I resonate with your content. Every video every emotion and every opinion. It’s scary crazy but good
You just validated me on cardigans!
I really appreciated this video! To inspire to think of why certain pieces aren’t worn, or getting removed from the wardrobe, to learn from it 🥰
Thanks for sharing!
I think you benefit from their structure due to the slope of your shoulders… great advice!
this is so true, everyone is built differently
I love knitwear. I have slopey shoulders but no developed traps. I would wear blazers as I think they're really cool but having a pears ish shaped body it's hard to find something that fits. An oversized blazer would fit but I hate that style of blazer 😅
Love the darker eyebrows!!! They suit your coloring very well
I bought a nice cardigan in the sales with 30% of wool. That should be a good thing, but my skin doesn't tolerate wool, it gets really itchy and uncomfortable. And I knew about it, I tried it on it shop and I thought I could handle it. Well, I can't...
@@kari0675 I can’t wear anything with wool in it, my skin gets so itchy and blotchy too
@@kathrynp7595 For me it's this irritating scratchy feeling that I can't stand. And knowing about it, I still bought the cardigan, because I liked the way it looked on me... :/
Disappointing… if you can’t return, last resort you could look up conditioning wool with woolite or other gentle soap to get it less scratchy.
I tried it once and it did take some edge off
I once started itching in a cardigan I thought was all synthetic, there was 5% wool in it... That was very confusing, like what percentage is ok? Lol
@@lookingatdaisies9901I’m like the princess and the pea. If there is even a hint of wool in a piece of clothing , my skin can detect it 😢.
I feel ya on that chunky shoe silhouette, looks so cute on everyone but me!
Ditto
I hate it on myself too
I love these kind of style and garment breakdown videos. I love how you analyze pieces. ❤
recent declutter:
a t-shirt where the scoop was too large & the sleeves stopped right in the middle of my upper arm. i like my Ts crew & sleeves almost to my elbow
I think black is best styled with camel, brown and navy.
the way i giggled a bit when i saw that red cardigan in the thumbnail 😅😅😅😅 thanks for the great vid as always!
Heheheh
The saga of the red cardigan! Lol
I actually like that shorter button up more than the longer \bigger examples you showed! its a different style but it really fits you
I agree. I felt when it was tucked in (maybe use double-sided tape or velcro to get it to stay in) it made her legs look really long and slim
I really liked it too.
I feel the same way about chunky shoes!!❤ I bought a new pair of all white dad shoes to replace my dying low profile white shoes I wore out. But I hate them on me for the same reason. I’m 5’2” and prefer to have a more slim shoe on the bottom. ❤
So happy I found your content 😊 I have such thick calves and it is SO nice to see someone with the same build!!
Love it!! I just need a slimmer loafer for myself - still a slay outfit!!!
Christina! You absolutely know your style! You always look fabulously tall and well put-together! I was SURPRISED you are 5’5”!! Keep making videos!❤
I knew back then that you would get rid of that red cardigan. Don’t ask me how 😂
Haha but I didn’t!
How did you lock in your three style words? I’m still trying to figure out my “formula” and would love your insights!
You look so good in the brown dress! It flows beautifully and make your body look so well balanced ✨️
Great video! My regrets are always when I veer away from what I know works for my body. Cropped and boxy was so in this year so I bought several pieces, but they just didn’t work on my long legs/short torso hourglass frame. I knew better but did it anyway.
I love how you try to use them, observe, analyse and then come to realisation of the reason why you don't like them. :)
I have too many to count! Lessons learned :) I find with chunky shoes, they can be hard to wear if you have fine features (which I have as well).
Ah. That applies to me as well...There's just something off about it that I haven't been able to figure out.
@@notaclue822 See my post above, you need some point of contrast that is slim. Don't go too chunky overall. So slim socks and not overly chunky shoes.
Lovely video ❤
I think you are right about the blue shirt being too cropped.
I have been eyeing that trench coat. Any recommendations about sizing?
@@lizzy4342 If it's meant to be oversized/for layering, get your normal size. I sized down with my raincoat bc i dont put on chunky sweaters
@@xrubyxlightx Thank you.
Yeah I find that as well - the shortness of it bothers me more tho
How did you figure out your style words? I love the concept but i have absolutely no idea how to describe mine.
The Derf Avenue top, I believe, is a keeper!! I love how you paired it with the dress, and it'll look great with leggings!
I just bought New Balance 530s on Friday before watching this video and already regret it. The fit was off for me and it was an impulsive purchase. Hoping to rehome them asap!
Live and learn ❤
Obsessed with your videos, thanks for sharing your content. I look forward to it ❤
the white dress - if it is 100% cotton, you can change its color easily by using textile color in your washing machine
my thought too. A medium blue or plum would look so good IMO, especially with a denim jacket and sandals for this time of year.
The color isn't the issue though, it's the silhouette (and more specifically, the neckline) that makes it look off on Christina
Christina, what is the paint color on your walls? I love it.
Thanks Christina for your new video and for your honest. Thanks to it we also learn. A lot. /Marie from Sweden
10:02 I get it. I love cardigans, I see the practicality of a cardigan. I've had multiple...I never wear them.
I have one pink one I've used quite a lot...its because i sew it shut, so the buttons lay nicely in a clean line. 😅
Where did you get your leather jacket? It’s beautiful!
Hi Christina! Completely agree with you that chunky shoes are not a good idea! Not for me at least. Love your content!!!
Thank you for this! Id love a few of these peppered into your repertoire on why you declutter items or whats in your declutter bag 🖤
Just fell upon this video on my home page. Really loved the honesty and insight. Regarding the blue button down, I loved it layered with the black dress, and I felt the length was perfect for that. Maybe keep it just to wear open? Anyway, looking forward to checking out more of your content...new subscriber here. :)
Another Sunday stunner! Appreciate your insights and transparency. As always so very relatable! ❤#Sunday Ritual
I just subscribed❤
Why?
You live and learn....and you are definitely not alone making mistakes !☺
Very interesting vid. The white dress is very nice. It may be the wrong cut for your shape. I wonder if it were longer waisted it may work. Matching cuts to our body shape is so important.
I'm glad you kept the red cardigan.
I love the outfit with the light blue shirt and loose jeans
I ❤ the shoes you wear with the All-Denim-Outfit, the slingback kittenheels. Where did you get these from?🙏
Where was that white dress from again? Thank you 🙏
Faithfull the brand
Can you share the link to your poshmark closet?
Girl you need some lifting shoes! My husband has two pairs and they have been great for him ❤ love hearing you love the sambas, so many people say they’re over hyped but they are on my list in black!
What size is the red Tibi cardigan? I’ll buy it! I love red cardigans!
I saw Allison Bournstein style that red colour with rich brown as a neutral. It was a good combo that might suit you.
That cardigan should look good under a blazer imo.
I can't wear cardigans, either. I've bought so many of them over the years and never liked the way they look on me.
Personally I love NB 530s. I wish I had them in every colour available 🙈 each to their own of course, great video ❤
