Can’t thank you guys enough for all you do! I honestly probably wouldn’t have started strolling as much as I do, if you guys hadn’t really pushed “YOU DONT NEED FFS TO DO THIS!” (not against it just don’t have it yet) I’ve caught a ton of fish, and some really nice ones this year on this technique! Whether it’s throwing it at schooling fish (got a great video of me doing that!) casting into higher % areas, or using 2D sonar and doing some Atari style livescoping 😂
I don’t have electronics but when I go kayak fishing on my local lake I use the vague topography map online and also visually watch my line when tossing jigs to see how deep certain areas are and mentally mapping for the future lol been fishing it 2 years and feel like I have a topography map of the lake engrained in my brain
Tore some bass up this year strollin’ ponds from the bank! No sonar needed. Just some Guppie Heads, some Range Rollers, and a few different baits. Loads of fun!
Mid strolling is pretty new in the midst of fishing techniques. There’s still tons of MLF and opens tournament guys that have only been doing it a year or two. That’s a pretty new technique. It primarily originated in Japan within the last 13 years and would still be considered a “modern” technique. Especially with all the new baits and modifications people are making to apply it to bass fishing more heavily.
@ I agree in that sense, but “mid strolling” is sort of a spin off of everything. Tim said Damiki Rig talking about mid strolling, well in technical terms, they’re two completely different things. Damiki is vertical fishing. Mid strolling is casting, shaking, and retrieving in a specific column of water. I’m just saying.
They have an old video of their rod rooms in California. I would have to guess that by now the new ones look like the most stocked tackle store out there.
Most of the strolling videos I’ve seen seem to target bass where the main forage is shad and not bluegill. Can this technique work where there is mostly bluegill and if so what colors would you use recommend? Thanks guys.
I would definitely buy two of them if they get rereleased. One to wear and one for backup. Hopefully other people show interest, I’ll keep an eye out. Thanks Tim, tight lines bud 🤙🏼
So curious as I know you guys test a lot of rods for everything. With just getting into stolling and not ready to dedicate a new rod yet. Have you guys tried the 6’8 medium extra fast st Croix victory for this technique before. Thoughts either way on using this rod for strolling
Question for yall, ive spent alot of time researching and doing this with some success. BUT, I have tons of fish i csn cast to get their attention, they nose up and get close to the bait, then turn off, like 80-90% of them, what could i be missing there ?
I know with strolling y'all like two tone baits because it accentuates the rolling action, but with wanting less action in colder water, would a single color be more effective to hide the action?
Been killing big smallies on my local highland reservoir with a mooch minnow. Even been strolling for striper and smashing them on a big 8" sakamata shad.
Thank you! We are currently working adding hoodies and reapers to our merch store. I believe once they are added we might be able to special order 3x or 4x's.
I would love to know what line sizes you use for each application. I don't have the confidence to go down lower then 20lb fluorocarbon. I know it sounds ridiculous but I don't trust my drag system enough to go down to a lighter line. Thanks for another sprinkle of knowledge Tim 🤙😎
Watched this video on the water, and I just pulled out almost 50 bass and 3 over 4 pounds in my first spot. Love the video. Keep it up!
That's a killer day! Keep it up!

Thats awesome! Way to put it to work with the tools you have available! 🙌
Matt and Tim, really appreciate you guys,.
Love your videos.
Tight lines!!!
Thank you Frank!

Great video Tim! 👊 Strolling has been a deadly technique on Clearlake lately. 🔥
What I’ve learned in 30 years of bass fishing. Anything works if you live in a region that stays warm and produces huge bass 😂
Great work with the camera and the overlays Tim, the whole video was very very cool thanks.
Thanks! Glad you liked the overlays.
Thanks!
Listening to this as I drive to the water this morning!

That's awesome! It's so much fun to roam the banks.
Have to try that technique out
Been using this technique on Shasta with a zoom fluke on a darthead for a couple decades+. "Strolling" certainly has it's time and place.
That would be a cool video!
This technique shines in the winter in the PNW💪🏼... don't care for it as much during the rest of the year.

Man, anglers been hangin' a minner for years you're just now seeing it more often thanks to live coverage.

Translates well inshore during the winter too. Suspended specks will kill it on the fall
What is that yellow hook keeper on the rod? Caught my first stroll fish at Don Pedro 2 weeks ago. Very fun technique. Thanks.
Matt and Tim. Would you guys be willing to show us around the TacticalBassin compound? Sure would be cool to see the inside of that place.
I don’t think it’s a compound. I think it’s just their individual houses 😂
But a tour would be sick

@@DK.Foster Unless that's a barndominium, it looks like a large garage with maybe an office from the other time they showed part of the outside.
6th sense crappie swim jig heads are really good for small hooks and light heads but still have the detailed fish head
What's your thoughts on using a longer rod like a 7'6" for the smaller baits and heads?
Raid super fish roller is the best

What would you take to El Salto in mid-January?
What do you think about the Core Tackle heads where the lead weight is hidden inside the minnow lure?
You guys always do a great job. I smashed them on 3” Spunk Shad this summer. Do you think you’ll ever do another run of hats? Keep up the good work.
we actually have our online store up and running now. Check it out @

What weight and head worked on the 3 inch bro. I just got some.
1/8 oz. Guppy is what I use
Thanks man love that guppy.I actually like it without paint.
Hey Tim, where can we get that color TacticalBassin hoodie?
Not seeing on the TB website or on TW’s website.
I was wondering the same thing but I need 3x lol not sure if they have it
It was a color offered on TW. Its not currently in the lineup but if the demand is enough we might be able to do a special run.
I would definitely buy two of them if they get rereleased. One to wear and one for backup. Hopefully other people show interest, I’ll keep an eye out. Thanks Tim, tight lines bud 🤙🏼

When using this technique, is it better to always tie a loop knot or is there instances you tie the knot on the eye??
MY dear friend with Parkinson out fishes me all the time on by strolling😅😊

What rod action gives you a really skinny whippy tip? Extra fast or slow? And which vibrates more Solid or tubular?

Hey Tim sorry it’s off topic but do you guys have the TB reaper hoodie you are wearing in 3x or 4x ?
Thanks
And great video!

You can totally go down to 10lbs...no problem. For smallies anyway
I run 12lb mostly, 14lb if water is colored. If your drag is set up right then absolutely no problem
8-10 is pretty much the sweet spot
I do a lot of bank fishing. You're telling me I can go down to 10-12lb line and still "boat flip" a 3-4lb bass without my line breaking?
@@Grant_Reynolds well you didn't mention that lol. You should have started with "for boat flipping 3-4lbers..." 🤣😂🤣
Tim. What is that yellow thing on your rod?
Lure and line holder.
This may be a dumb question but if there is a little current, should you be strolling with or against the current?
Always go with the current.
With the current 👍🏻
Loop knot or polamar knot
Why no love for the 6th sense Juggle minnow?? Besides the SK baby Ztoo, or the spunkshad.... the juggle gets the 1rst casts always.
Yeah, I stick to the O.G ways. Who needs technology!! There's not to much skill with the technology!! That's how I feel anyways..👍
Mid strolling talk with AI comments, definitely not the video for me, buyer series was great, winter top baits was great as well
