This technique is insanely good for crappie with downsized baits. I’ve used it so much over the last few years throughout the entire year that it’s second nature. I usually start as low as 1/80 or 1/64oz to find the depth the crappie are at and stick with that weight, it keeps the bait in the strike zone longer and stays out of snags better.

you touched on it briefly but the last 5-6x i went out ive been playing with the really finesse 3 inch strolling setups on the new SINKING braid and ohh boy! its pretty much a cheat code!! ill put my exact setup below this but im telling ya! the sinking braid helps a ton otherwise there's so much slack line waiting for it to sink and putting too much tungsten on the nose kills the action & looks horrible! but been tearing em up lately & its something new thats easy for friends/fam to fish while out on my boat!

When a minnow is injured or dying they often turn on their side when attempting to swim, this is why the bait works so well in my opinion, also there is a tiny jerk bait called the pin minnow by Yo-Zuri it's the smallest one of all this bait also turns on it's side when using it as a jerk bait. And will catch every fish in the lake including big bass at the right times.

@@richardbossman9875 I caught everything on that bait including a 6lb bass. Simply one of the best baits ever for me. The bigger ones work to but the panfish want the little one. And it turns on it's side when you jerk it.

Before the pond breach on watts bar we would take pins minnows on the flats and ledges in winter and catch white bass by the hundreds, and a ton of bass along with them (they were probably there to pick off smaller white bass)
I have a special place in my heart for pins minnows and road runner jigs because of that lake.

lol before I watched the middle part where you mentioned viewers from Japan I was thinking exactly what you were saying. lol. Like this is way too heavy weights for actual mid strolling. lol

When I do this technique I feel like I am moving the bait way to much. I am not sure if that's true or not using 7 for med with a soft tip.

Why is this the hottest so called technique and since 1990's we put flukes on jig heads along with ball head no#2 hook and Zoom finesse worm green pumpkin. Been around forever, along with hair jigs

Yep. Zoom fluke twitched on a jig head has been fished for decades. Apparently if you shake it…it becomes something new!

Thats definitely an odd experience. Owner isn't known for low quality hooks, you either got a dud or something else happened.

I know. I've had nothing but good experience with Owner hooks until the range roller. It sucks though as the range roller jig heads are expensive @@tacticalbassin

I fished this style bait as a kid from the banks of everwhere and just burned it out..3/16 jighead and white curly tail..there really isnt anything new out there its just applied differently

Why is this called strolling? I have been doing this for 5 years and its always been called Twitching. This is how u fish a trout magnet in Ultralight fishing.

The “teaching” made at 20:52 is why patterns like this get so over fished. If it’s THAT good, use it when you need it. Not saying keep it a secret but don’t abuse it either.
