"Maison" is part 1 of the Apocalypse trilogy. Dreamcatcher are touching on a very important subject here. Maison is French for "house" or rather "home" (seems like I don't have to tell you that, hehe), and they are singing about everyone's home, which is our planet. Previously they talked about online hate, now they are tackling an issue that impacts the whole planet and therefore everyone. Climate change is going to affect all of us, and it is already affecting many people. Island Nations will disappear under the ocean ("Save my home in the ocean"). Ice melts in the arctic and displaces people ("Save my home in the polar"). Forests get decimated by corporate greed and habitats get destroyed ("Save my home in the jungle") and disappearing glaciers and snow packs result in even less water for deserts ("Save my home in the desert"). People have a natural tendency to ignore issues that seem to be in the future - but climate change is here, right now. We can't wait anymore, and it is good that Dreamcatcher use their platform to promote change: "Break your habit now!" Musically I really enjoy the song. Like in BEcause, the rock/metal vibe is dialed back a bit, but it is still there and highly distorted. Although the more I listen to it, the more Rock I hear. I especially like how the pre-chorus and chorus seems to appear out of nowhere, the chord progression in the bridge, and the epic end part. The bass line is crazy as well. LEEZ and Ollounder (their producers) have done it again, and the members are just brilliant. Respect!
Thank you for elaborating on the "desert" reference. I couldn't think of what they were singing about. I'm ignorant about music parts, so aside from the chorus, I don't know what a "bridge" is. Pre-chorus obviously means before the chorus, but I could be wrong when it comes to music. I really am so impressed with the group and their songs. I wish they got more recognition.
Maison didnt teally grab me to start with but it grew on me quickly. This was also the song that got Dreamcatcher their first win. 1923 days after debut. They currently hold the record for longest time between debut and first win for a girl group. While ive not seen it in person the concert performances for Maison are always really impressive. It just comes off as really powerful and seems like it plays off the crowds very well. im really glad theyre not afraid to tackle difficult subjects with their music. I also like that the video seems to call out those most reaponsible for climate change, which is coorporations. The scene with sua landing on a long table and then attacking the goat man, to me, is representative of this. It looks like a corporate board room. I think the most impactful thing any of us can do is work to elect people who take ghe issue seriously and will work to address the areas that cause the most harm. Looking forward to Vision.
