"Piri" is the last part of the Nightmare Arc (their Japanese release "Breaking out" can be seen as an alternative ending). In "What", the girls have been searching for Yoohyeon, and here they find each other again, but in the end they are all stuck in the white dimension. A Piri is a Korean flute that was used historically to signal danger, and that is what Yoohyeon does here when the members arrive. She is the one capturing them one by one, to rescue them and bring them to safety. They are together in the end, but still stuck. Dreamcatcher don't do happy endings. 😉
Even though this mini-album is called The End of Nightmare, you're not done with this series, because it has an alternative ending with japanese track Breaking Out
Piri was the debut of rapper Gahyeon. Even more weapons for Leez and Ollounder to hit helpless Insomnias with.
Unfair, Gahyeon is already too charismatic for her to also have more vocal talent
The 'piri' is a traditional Korean woodwind. But all the things that blow the wind and make a sound are usually called 'piri'.
뿔+피리:horn+piri (a horn), 풀+피리:grass+piri(a reed)
I'd like to add a few more. There is a small 'piri' that can send rescue signals in the event of a disaster. It was called an emergency piri. However, a long time ago, in Korea, the 'piri' was attracting attention from women as an item for preventing sex crimes. But smart devices seem to be replacing them now
To this day, one of their best ever. Imagine knowing Gahyeon only as the cute makne who sings the soft parts and nothing else then they hit you with that.
In the context of the song about being lost and scared, calling for help that isn't arriving, Dami's lines about it isn't that easy and she's had a gun for a while with the gesture seem to indicate her considering a different way out of the situation.
I swear I never get tired of your Dreamcatcher reactions! I definitely recommend you check out their Japanese release Breaking Out + the song’s MV. I’ve always felt like it was kinda the sister song to Piri in terms of the narrative communicated through the lyrics and visuals!
"Piri" album name called "The End of Nightmare". It's look like a end of this series. But when they release their first japanese single album, it's called "The Beginning Of The End" and the mv is just like a little extend of "Piri" mv. Maybe you can got some details when you react to the japanese title track "Breaking Out".
And speaking of "Piri" album...please be careful of the b-sides "Diamond"&"And there was no one left", i think these two are too dangerous.🤭🤭

That is one of the most strange Color Coded Lyric videos I have seen. Most people put the members in order by age. In this one, they had them in no order at all (maybe Siyeon is their Bias, who knows?). This tripped me up a little bit. lol Hooray for a touch of Autism, my OCD is acting up...
About the rapid-morphing-into-other-members part, you got me to question it for the first time, so I went frame-by-frame to check.
I can clearly see Yoohyeon-Siyeon-Handong-Sua-Gahyeon-JiU-Yoohyeon, but I can't see Dami in there. Maybe she just becomes much harder to see because of the short hair? I'm not sure, but idk what it could mean if she was indeed the only one missing.

You brought up Yoohyeon and JiU having the same hair color. GREAT catch! That is how they shot the scene with two JiU's sitting next to each other and one pulls the veil off the other. Yoohyeon was JiU's Body Double.
I am also pretty sure it was Yoohyeon capturing everybody in this MV. Since she was the center of the conflict throughout the Nightmare series, Piri takes place in her part of reality and she has become more aware of how to handle the nightmare because JiU sort-of found her in 'What'. Yoohyeon automatically knows that JiU would be looking for her so she is not worried about finding JiU; that will just happen, she has full faith in her leader. Obviously she does not want to be alone so she goes to collect the other members. The MV could have been longer but we get the idea of what she is doing as she continues capturing people.
I STILL think it is not over yet. The YT channel Pony Canyon has the 'alternate ending' to the Nightmare series, a song called 'Breaking Out'. I personally think that MV takes place simultaneously alongside of 'Piri'. That part of the story is from everybody's perspective and not just from JiU's or Yoohyeon's and I think it ends the Nightmare Arc very nicely, tying it up in a pretty bow. :)

Your comment about Handong's scene reminding you of the mansion first had me thinking: what is she on about? But it did cause me to make a connection I hadn't made before: in Good Night Handong sings "I don't wanna Tik Tok", and here's she's being harassed by ticking clocks 🤔
I also like your connection about Jiu seeing Jiu, that we saw that as well in Fly High.
I can't remember any dolls before 🤔. I could be wrong, though. Maybe you should do a marathon for a full analysis 😅
Like others already said, there's an alternate ending in Breaking Out.
I recommend watching that one first.
Then, once you are fully done analyzing by yourself and wanting to know someone else's analysis, I recommend watching "Dreamcatcher Nightmare Storyline Explained" by SuA's SinB. Especially the first half is very good, the second half she goes a bit off on a tangent that I'm not necessarily agreeing with.
To be absolutely 100% prepared for that video, you should watch the small "Full Moon Promotion video" first.
Pretty sure Yoohyeon and JiU had the same hair color to film the scene where JiU is in front of herself, taking the veil off.
How is Gahyeon allowed to do both? Well, there was a Live that happened once...
SuA and Siyeon were talking about being shipped with each other. SuA was drawing things out on a Whiteboard to see how they could act as a married couple. And of course, being a little bit 'spicy', SuA brought up their 'union' and asked Siyeon what may come of that.
While Siyeon was thinking about it, Dami instantly answered with "Gahyeon." lol
It really is true though; Gahyeon has SO MUCH potential in EVERY direction! She's SMART as well as being INTELLIGENT (as far as I am concerned, those are two slightly different aspects to people), she's sassy, she's LOUD, she's edgy and sometimes brutally blunt. She's sweet, she's spicy, she's just automatically cute by her awesome genetics but she can also be cool or she can be badass and she can be sexy whenever she wants. And she has the world's greatest teachers surrounding her (not JUST SuA and Siyeon, obviously). :)

The literal translation of piri is pipe. It is commonly used to reference various pipe-like wind instruments such as a flute, pan pipes or a hollowed out animal horn.
Piris have been used to announce an emergency or call for help, hence the lyrics "Blow the Piri" and "Emergency emergency". As was mentioned in a previous comment (credit: unborndream1516) women have used piris as a self defense item, similar to a r*pe whistle. Soldiers 'back in the day', prior to radio, used to carry and use them to sound an alarm or call for help. The ones used by soldiers would be more like the horn we see at the start of the MV.
In an interview SuA specifically referred to the horn on the chair at the start of the MV as a piri, much like the ones used by soldiers. Throughout the MV we also hear the lighter sounds of a flute, which is another form of piri.
My theory (short form)
With the MV's for You and I and What, we have established that Yoohyeon is lost and alone within the Nightmare.
At the beginning of the MV we see Yoohyeon still trapped alone in the Nightmare. She finds and picks up a horn / piri she finds on a chair. This is actually a trap set by the powers behind the curse. She triggers the trap by picking up the horn. This triggers the blaring sound blaring sound we hear at the start of the MV. This calls the other members back into the Nightmare.
Over the course of the MV we see the other members who are wandering in the Nightmare, confused and lost in a maze, encountering things that can cause anxiety and depression in modern life. Clocks = passage of time / aging. Dolls = loss of childhood / innocence. Phones = responsibility / bad news.
As the MV progresses we see a hand appear that snatches each of the members. The popular theory is that the hand belongs to Yoohyeon and she is bringing all the members back together. Another theory is that it is the hand of the curse, dragging the members back into the nightmare. I agree with the Yoohyeon theory, but you can choose whichever one suits your narrative.
At the end of the MV we see all the members in the same white room we started in, wearing the same white dress that Yoohyeon was wearing. This tells me that this story has both a happy and a sad ending. Happy in the fact that they are all once again united. Sad that they have been united, and once again trapped, within the Nightmare.
Trust me, that's about as short as I can make it and it still have it make sense. Normally this would be a novel length, detail delving comment.
Two JiU's...
In Fly High JiU encounters herself playing the piano. This is her first indication that something is wrong, that something sinister is afoot. In Piri, she again encounters herself which tells her that, once again, she has been pulled into the Nightmare. We seem to have come full circle.
Yes! My fav title track from them, still until now, unbeatable. The production, the music arrangement, top notch! 🤟🏻
I am with the opinion that Chase Me and Goodnight are the actual ending, where they finally escape from the Nightmare realm.
We did go back in time with Fly High so it's possible that everything after that was actually in the past 🤔
Dami is usually the designated "hand model" in Dreamcatcher's MVs.
