The MacBook Air M1 are removed from Apple’s website but they are now being sold at Walmart for $699 as part of an agreement from Apple.
I have now a MacBook Air m1 , but I consider to go for a MacBook Pro M1 Max , because of the power and storage...
based on the B-roll in this video Andres seems to be in Montreal, Canada, where USD $1 is CAD $1.35. So his CAD $999 pricing corresponds to USD $736. Here in Canada we are always getting screwed on exchange rate by Apple, we should be paying a little less than CAD $999 for the base model M1 Air.

M1 Air are still sold inside Apple refurbished store, at least in Europe.

Still got my M1 Air with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, and it’s still not missing a single beat. Highly recommended.

I picked up the base model 15” m3 MacBook Air to review for students, but I one thing I can definitely agree with you that 512gb ssd and 16gb of ram should be the bare minimum 😅🙌🏻
Yeah, I totally agree... the base model is no longer considered a standard anymore unfortunately... but the confusion keeps growing to say the least
@@marucsreynolds459 it would be better if Apple delayed the next processor generation - M4 by a year, and instead up the standard to 16GB RAM/512GB SSD. I think they would sell a lot more laptops period - Airs and Pros, if the base memory and storage were better because people would buy them as second machines. However, they're still making loads of money, so they are unlikely to change.

Andres, with so many MacBooks on your table while comparing them, you could add captions to show which models you are showing. It can be hard for non English speakers to follow thru the speed of the video. Think about adding a frame with a comparison table.

As always, insanely well shot! Your intro question though, I couldn't agree more. A yearly release of Macs is just not sustainable and it's far too much for so little a jump. 2 years between M chip release is a great model to go with for now on I'd think
My dude, the annual laptop refreshes aren’t meant for people to upgrade their laptops every single year. It’s for the people who are due for an upgrade, they can get the latest and greatest. It’s not for the M2 air owners to buy an M3.

I switch from intel MacBook Pro 15" to M2 13" Air 512GB and is been amazing experience. I don't hear the fans anymore, battery life is been amazing, super easy to carrie around the house and performance for the work flow of lite video editing with Final Cut Pro and web browsing is been a perfect machine.

Switched from the 16 inch M1 Max Pro to the 15 inch M2 Air. Only looked back at the 120hz display and battery life.
Portability of the Air is just awesome, performance is more than good enough for my work (software development).

People please don't upgrade the SSD over the RAM if you're limited on budget. You can always buy an external SSD that is as fast as the internal storage, and for much cheaper. The SanDisk Professional 1TB PRO-G40 SSD for example is even faster than the internal storage, and you get 1TB for the price of adding an additional 256 GB of internal storage on the MacBook Air. However you'll be memory swapping with 8GB of RAM if you do anything else than light multi-tasking.
It's definitely not faster.

Last week I picked up a refurbished MacBook Air M2. It has 24 GB RAM, and 1TB of ssd, which was hard to find, but I got lucky! Got it for a good price too. I think the M2 Air is a great option because you can spend less money than on an M3, and get a solid performance improvement over the M1, and still pretty close to the performance of an M3.
M2 MBA user here. I have the base model but it totally perfect for my workflow you have made the best move the difference between the M2 and the M3 doesn´t worth the upgrade. you can wait until the M5 or M6 if not M7. If you have a M1 it is another story. I am looking for a M1 Pro MBP for now the prices begin to be quite interesting.

I understand your concern regarding the price increase when upgrading to the Air M3, as it gets very close to the cost of the 14-inch model. It might be worth considering last year's model instead.

Nice video I am watching this from my Base M2 MBA and it fits perfectly my workflow and complete my iMac. I also love the Air for its lightness and power. You can work almost everywhere with this machine. I think my next machine will be am M4 or M5 but an Air series with 16gb. The diffrences now between the Air and the base Pro are so tight the upgrade worth is you go to M Pro or M max chips. But those Air are definitely the best laptops ever made especially for creatives.. Just for info this base M2 MBA performs better than my. 16gb 512 SSD Hp elite book 840 in fact it totally kills it.

I’m UI/UX designer and i’m still confused whether to buy M3 air or M3 pro? I want to have a device that is more durable. The only difference between the Pro and the Air in terms of performance is that it has a fan, while the CPU and RAM are the same for the base model. I don't really understand this, can you give me some input? is it a right choice to take the m3 pro base model over the m3 air base model? Thank You

if you want it to last it can last, but it really also depends on your major and interests if you are into video editing or plan to get into it or really want to try out machine learning and all then you might see some throttling later on, other than that just make sure you get external ssds for storage if you are going for the base storage

I agree with you. Base models with 8Gb of RAM and 256Gb SSD will be hard to keep up its power over the years and to sustain a user more powerful demand change.
I prefer to bump the memory up. And use a fast external SSD drive if I need more storage.
I hope Apple finally bumps all base models to 16Gb of RAM soon.
My personal current Mac is a M2 Pro 14” with 32Gb of RAM and 512Gb SSD. I am sure it will hold well during 5 years use easily.

Hello, I am a computer science student and I am entering my final 2 years of university, but I need to change my PC fairly quickly. However, I'm not sure which MacBook Air to choose between the M1, M2, or M3, and I'm undecided on whether to go for a base model or one with more RAM and storage for my development tools (Eclipse/IntelliJ, VSCode, Docker, Android Studio, etc.). Also, considering that I will keep it for at least 3 years.

Got an 8GB M2 and it's pretty comparable to my 16GB MacBook Pro 16, haven't tried resource heavy PhotoShop yet but it's great.
I honestly got the m1 air at incredible for like R16000 or about 875$ brand new and it is going very good I love the laptop and it was my best purchase ever
Fun fact everybody forgets to mention. Pros have 3x-4x slower displays vs airs (even base M1) in terms of pixel response.

I own the Macbook Pro M1 in 16 inches and the Macbook Air M2 in 13 inches. Currently I use the Air almost 90% of the time. The reason is because it is extremely handy and even better than that (14 inch MB Pro) and it is simply fun to use. Definitely the picture, sound and performance of the Pro is better, but should that be the reason to choose it over the Air? I only use the Pro when I need the performance or I want to see HDR content. The only thing I really miss about the Air is the SD card slot. Ps. the color midnight is awesome and if like me you don't have sweaty hands you should choose this color.
I own the Macbook Pro M1 in 16 inches and I am tired of lugging it around. I feel bad for trading in my Macbook Air for my 16 inch, but am now saving up to get a Macbook Air again so I can have one I can carry with me and the 16 inch at home for more serious work. Glad to know your experience as it confirms what I have been thinking along. I really need the Air more. What is your spec for your Air? I'm thinking of getting only the base model, as I have the 16 inch anyway. For the base model, I'm thinking of only using it for writing and some light graphic design. As for the color, I'm thinking of getting the starlight color. Doesn't the midnight color chip the color away eventually -- and easier to spot the change in color when it gets worn out?
@@denniszenanywhere The performance of the M1 16 Pro is significantly better than that of the M2 13 Air. I have the Air with the basic configuration. Using the Air is much more fun, I'm currently traveling in Barcelona and you don't notice the weight. I wanted to edit a few pictures now, it works, but there's no comparison to the Pro and I'll wait until I get home. If you work with it a lot when you're on the go (more complex work), then it's better to go with the 14 Pro or the Air with more specifications (16 GB RAM). But the Air is easily sufficient for 90% and is also significantly lighter than the 14 Pro. There has been no negative change in the color so far. A friend of mine has Starlight, also a very nice color and even less vulnerable. I prefer midnight, but it's very subjective and I don't have sweaty hands, so if you keep that in mind then I'd prefer Starlight.

I am planning to buy a MacBook air M2 base model, I know the base model has a slower SSD, and the 8GB RAM is not future-proof, but I have no more money to spend on it, (I will mainly use it for iOs development). I know a lot of people will recommend an M1 macbook air, but it's 4 years older now, and If I want to upgrade to a better mac in two or three years, it will be 6-7 years old and won't get me enough to consider upgrading, not to mention it will be hard to sell due to the older design. Based on all these considerations and some more(which I forgot) I choose M2 cause it's cheaper than M3 but a lot more modern and well performing. does anybody have a better idea? if so, please let me know.
Tried WQHD at 1440 vertical pixels, and hated it, 4k UHD at 2,160 vertical pixels seemed so much better for me
