  • This is an unboxing and review of the Beyerdynamic DT700 Pro X. A seriously mangificent pair of studio grade headphones which have some really awesome highlights.
I've been using these for gaming and in combination with the GoXLR

The highlights of these headphones include super epic comfortable velour ear cups, superb sound, removable parts and more. It has a removable headband and ear cups so they should be easy to replace. It comes with two cables, two adapters and a carry bag too.
The Beyerdynamic DT 700 Pro X headphones are undeniably awesome - delivering superb sound, incredible comfort, snazzy style and long-lasting durability in a wonderful package. I struggle to pick holes in these headphones. If hearing detail is key, then these are the ones to go for.
    Headphone specs:
    350 g weight without cable
    5 - 40,000 Hz frequency response
100 dB SPL (1mW/500Hz) nominal sound pressure

Circumaural sound coupling with closed-back operation
    3 m or 1.8 m straight cable, detachable, with 3-pin mini XLR & stereo jack (3.5 mm & 6.35 adapter)
    Features:
    Detailed, powerful and vibrant sound
Wide range of applications on all devices thanks to STELLAR.45 driver with an impedance of 48 ohms
Superb wearing comfort with outstanding passive isolation
    Hard-wearing, durable and robust workmanship
Sustainable headphones - made in Germany

I've had DT 770 Pro for some years now, and I can't imagine a life without them. But the DT 700 Pro X looks absolutely great, and I'm definitely going to try them out at some point. Also, I would love to see a wireless version or adapter at some time in the future.

Thank you for a comprehensive review! I like the detachable cable and soft earpads but am a little concerned about their round interior. I will probably order them from Amazon so I can return them if they don't work out.

I had these gaming headsets back in the day, and they got so loud, that during the summer i would use them as a speaker. Got these 700s now and looking forward to the switch.

I'm so satisfied with these headphones.
Had to widen the headband for less pressure, but besides that they're perfect

What are the differences between these and the DT770's?
Also one other question, about the ear pads. The clip used to hold the pads in place, can that be removed and used on pads from another company?

Have they fixed the weak headband joints for big heads? My 770 PROs broke easily since my head is somewhat large. Never got to fixing it as all spare parts were just as flimsy. Wasted a lot of money on those pair of cans. 😭

New to the channel, great reviews! Thinking of getting these for a new, mostly PC gaming headset, thinking these will have better quality audio than gaming specific headsets? Have you tried the Antlion modmic wirelsss mic with such headphones, could be a good combo? Subbed!

Those cables might have the look of an xlr cable (so I get what you mean when you called it mini xlr) but I'm not sure if they are true xlr because it's passing a stereo signal across 3 pins which means it isn't truly a balanced signal?

    • @TheProvokedPrawn

I am very conflicted about closed or open back. Mainly to use for monitoring mic, listening to music, watching movies. I like to sing along and know I don’t sound like a strangled cat thinking I sound like the artist I am listening to. But my husband and I live in a small place with our headphones being the only way to retain some of our privacy … Help!

@@TheProvokedPrawn Closed it is. Just made my order. You (and a few others) helped me decide on the HyperX Quad S mic. A bit obnoxious aesthetically but it sure is good value for money and can be fun to watch. Anyway. Thanks for this review.
