    Born and Raise in LA.
Tip #1 never find a house online. Find one that has a For Rent sign in the front lawn. You're welcome...

Same and Yassss. That’s the best way. You don’t have to deal with realtors as much and can even find a place that the owner directly is renting out and negotiate deposits etc.

    • @ryans7146

takicardia Ventura/Santa Barbara is an hour away with good traffic. Usually more like 2 hours though. OC is a county not a city but huntington beach and new port beach are really nice (just as expensive as the city though) it can take me an hour and a half to get to new port beach mid day. About an hour and 15 minutes from Hollywood area to Anaheim and same to Huntington Beach. Going to any of these places is considered southern California not so much LA. So if you are interested in living in LA you will feel very disconnected from the city if you chose these places to live. I feel disconnect from LA even when I go to long beach and it's in the same county. If you don't already live in LA and are interested Glendale and Pasadena and the valley are better options. It gets hot in the valley though. I prefer the west side of LA. I also like silver lake, echo park, and los feliz. You are going to be paying a good amount of money to live in those places.

Living with a roomate can be tricky, I have had several there was one good roomate, 4 okay roomates and 2 very messy/crazy/dangerous roomates. If the roomate lost their job you could be stuck paying the entire bill? What would you do if you had to pay $3000 a month? What if you're roomate starts smoking a bunch of pot inside the unit, you don't smoke but you're afraid the second hand smoke will endanger you're health and make you fail one of you're companies random drug tests and there is nothing you can do to get rid of the roomate. What if you're roomate changes their motor cycle oil on the carpet and you don't want to pay for the damage? What if you're roomate starts partying late on weekdays and you can't can't get enough sleep to do a good job at work. Its better to get you're own place but in alot of big cities you can't, you can't always get to know a roomate before you commit either sometimes the location of you're job changes with little notice and you need to quickly find something. If I had to have a roomate I would want to put a simple set of rules that everyone agreed on in writing and I would have everyone sign that document.
