    Thanks for watching! I forgot to mention in the video but Alaina told me she does not plan to renew her lease. It’s a 1 year fun experience to see what tiny living is like in NYC. I personally think that’s one of the reasons it’s so fun to live here. You can hop around between neighborhoods and try out new living situations all the time!

      NYC doesnt really enforce it's laws. There is WAYYYY too many people here to catch everyone (or even 1% of those committing crimes). The infrastructure is VERY suspect in many areas of NYC (been living here in Queens now for 2 years, can't wait to leave back home to California once residency is done, 1 year left baby!)

    This is why NYC housing prices will never go down. The demand to able to sleep anywhere in this city is too extreme. Most people work all day or go out all day while spending little time at home, so they wouldn't mind this as a temporary living space. Still, I feel claustrophobic just from watching this video.

    • @BeYounique...Maryanne
      @BeYounique...Maryanne 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +50

      I agree. Over 20 years ago I worked in NYC, commuting from my, at the time, huge two-bedroom apartment in New Jersey (which had a ton of closet space, as well as a kitchen, and a living room). A co-worker was going away to Florida, with his wife, and invited me to stay at his tiny NYC apartment and watch his cats. I thought it would be the greatest experience ever, working, playing and living in NYC for a month. ...Sadly, I wasn't cut out for it. The apartment was so small, it depressed me. Now I live in a house, and feel maybe it's too big, even though it's a small house. Everyone is different and you have to find that sweet spot of what works for you. She seems happy, and it's decorated beautifully.

      Housing normally goes up over time. If it's on a downward trend for a long time, that's really bad for that location.... 🙂
      A large living space in NYC is pretty much always going to be more expensive than most other places in the world simply because NYC is a desirable place to live. 🙂

      i just finished building myself a loft bed, with an underside desk area. I made it as tall as possible at first so i could cut it down once i could feel what the spaces felt like on top and bottom. The top was pretty much what she had here.
      It didn't feel too bad, i could lay on my side and have a fist size gap to the ceiling, Though for her bed it seems more cluttered and closed in, but mines a big double bed with no clutter and good lighting, completely open on two sides with the foot end getting a view of the rest of the room, and out of a window. So hers definitely looks like it feels more cramped, dark, closed in on all sides, but if its cosy then a space that small can work for some people. I could have probably lived with it being that high, but the underside was needlessly roomy, so i cut it down an extra 15cm so both sides have a good middle ground.
