This was Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious! I am 71 and a native. You took me to so very many NEW places and revisited so many of my favorites. BTW Clifton's open in 1935. I with my parents ate there often starting for me at age 3. Many locations have been in other films than Blade Runner. But I love what you did and have watched twice now. Bravo.
I delivered liquor in Downtown LA for 20 years from the late 60s to the late 80s and I also lived in downtown from 1999 to 2009 you did a good job I know all the places and seen them all many times brings back memories thank you for your video I love downtown Los Angeles. And the surrounding areas.
Growing up and living in LA you forget how amazing our home is. Thanks for giving me some new places to check out, I’ve been to most of your recommendations but there’s a few new ones you’ve open my eyes to. 👍🏽 The ramen spot you mentioned is amazing also the intercontinental is absolutely beautiful and the food was A+ with the best view in Los Angeles.
Intercontinental is by far an amazing hotel best views in Los Angeles. Great spot to take a date. Best sushi in Los Angeles is crazy rocking sushi on Labrea and Santa Monica Blvd.
The monthly downtown art walk is another great event. Happens first Thursday of every month. Lots of artist selling their stuff but also attracts tons of food trucks and great for people watching.
Great job. I lived in DTLA for eight years, and over time I bicycled to pretty much each stop on your list. Watching your video was a nice trio down Memory Lane Thank you.
Josh, spent our first day in downtown LA today. Thank so much for your many helpful videos. I visited Grand Central Market for lunch, the Bradbury Building, Angels Flight, the Intercontinental, Little Tokyo, LA City Hall and the LA Library. We enjoyed every on of them.
Thank you for this great video! I want to check every single places you are talking about. Your voice and speech are really clear. The video is really enjoyable!
This is so useful, thank you very much! I am a native and still struggle on giving people suggestions. This is awesome. Even gave some to my teenager. Great job.
You live there? Of course it isnt worth checking out if you see it everyday, lol. This is for people like me who are coming to smoke to weed but could use a few places to check out for free to walk around blazed, lmao.
@MrBigEnchilada You do know you can see a performance inside the Walt Disney Concert Hall (LA Philharmonic)? Also it was designed by famed architect Frank Gehry. Its not everyday you come across a building designed by him.
@Paul D I have on both coasts and in between. LA puts most major U.S. cities to shame. LA just has a lot more of everything from museums (of every type and scope) to concerts to other cultural amenities, etc. As I type this LA metro now has the 3rd/4th most extensive public rail transport by mileage in the U.S. when LA Metro and Metrolink are added. For a city its size it truly is world class rivaling NYC in economic and cultural importance and leaving the rest behind (LA has the world's 3rd largest metro GDP after Tokyo and NYC).
@Paul D Great exodus? There's a very insignificant net loss (its also adding people as others leave)--its not seeing the same loss of people however that you are seeing from San Francisco and NYC currently post-Covid19. LA is one of the major cities that's remained stable. Like SF and NYC, LA metro has the most expensive real estate in the U.S. (in fact on average more expensive than NYC metro), and that has more to do with people leaving (a victim of its own success unlike say Detroit or Chicago with falling real estate prices as people leave) to neighboring Nevada, Arizona, and to Texas where real estate is much much cheaper (and this has been happening for decades even under Republican leadership just because of how much more expensive it is in CA; its not a recent trend). However as mentioned, unlike SF and NYC its not losing as many people (and in fact is gaining more residents with a masters degree or higher). Having visited NYC (and Boston, DC, etc.) and having long had family in SF I can see why this is happening. However, the situation in LA is not the same (there are still bidding wars on houses and real estate prices are stable or even still rising unlike in these other cities).
I love your videos! We are very frugal and have little kids so I love that you include things that are almost free, food related, and easy to walk around. The kids would love these places.
Wow.... I wish I could subscribe twice.. I’ve watched 29 videos today and probably 200 overall. Yours by far is the best!! Straight to the point, clean, with gentle music. Just perfect. I’ll definitely be sharing your video and subscribing!

There are so many to choose from, we'll try to cram several into our short stay. Great job and you have a great voice and tempo for videos!!

I'am from San Diego. We also have great places to discover. But recently I visited Los Angeles and really enjoyed my stay! I recommend J. Paul Getty's Art Museum! 😍
I highly recommend going to Clifton's Cafeteria, it's really nice and it's also a bar/club at night, free entry but to dress nicely for it. They also have small performances as well and themed dance rooms. It is by far my favorite bar to go in LA.

As someone who was born and raised in Los Angeles--Queen of Angels Hospital c.1946--I can honestly say that I really enjoyed watching your video. Two thumbs waaay up! You did a great job with all of these recommendations! And, if you ever find yourself in the vicinity of the Staples Center with a case of the hungries, let me give a bump to The Original Pantry Cafe on the corner of 9th and Figueroa...open 24hrs...you'll be glad you did!
Sooo, great video with awesome recomendations. Some I knew about and am now more inspired to see, others are surprises. Now to be picky. Grand Central Market has been around not just decades, but a FULL CENTURY. Cliftons has been around not just over 50 years but almost 90. On the other hand, Our Lady of the Angels is not THAT old. 2002. However it replaced St. Vibiana's which had been thw Catholic Arch Diosese headquarters since the late 1800s.
Great video we took some of your suggestions and made a day of it. We still have so much more to see. Thanks for making our daytrip to LA a focused and enjoyable one.👏
This was so great! Thank you for the suggestions. I've been to LA before but haven't been to the Downtown area so will be checking out these spots when I'm back in June :)
Not trying to be obnoxious but you just stated that you lived in LA all your life. So does it mean that you are currently not alive or am i chatting with a ghost?
I would also recommend Vista Hermosa Natural Park and Elysian park.. They are not too far apart from each other in Down Town LA and are great places to relax, lie on the grass after a tiring walk around, under the shade of trees, view the skyscrapers, complete with restrooms and drinking water. Vista park is about a 2km walk from Grand Central Market and you can check out the Broad and Walt Disney Concert Hall between them.
For all you saying "yOu LeFt ThIs tHiNg oUt!" Los Angeles is so absolutely massive and jampacked that it would take literal days to list every single thing this town has to offer. And that wouldn't even include the Greater L.A. area outside of the city lines. OR even acknowledging Orange County, which has EVEN MORE crazy shit.
The next time you're at Smorgasburg, go to the 10th floor of the parking structure- there is a fantastic view of the skyline as well as a tiny park that offers yoga classes on weekends.
We grew up in Los Angeles and throughout the year, have visited every place you mentioned (except that marionette place)! Thank you for such a great tribute to our city!
My mom is taking me to LA for my 18th birthday to get tattooed by my favorite artist!! I had no idea what to do while I was also up there ... so thank you soooo much for this!!! Awesome recommendations!!
this video breaks some of the stereotypes of LA for someone that's only ever been to Venice and Santa Monica on a few 1 day layovers - everything here looked really fun.
Fyi, he didn't really go in order of distance. So if u're gonna visit just know that u can access a lot of the items on that list on foot in one day. For example, the Arts District & lil Tokyo are across the street from each other. U can walk a few blocks North or take the metro (1 stop) & u'll be in Olvera Street, Chinatown is across the street, so is Grand Central Station. A block away from Grand Central station is Homegirl Cafe, or Philips...and 2 blocks from there is the Los Angeles State Historic Park. They hv the best breakfast at Nick's Cafe across from the park! All this is walking distance. Hv fun! There's so much to see in LA!
Thanks for watching, let me know what other lists you would like to see!

On the other hand, Our Lady of the Angels is not THAT old. 2002. However it replaced St. Vibiana's which had been thw Catholic Arch Diosese headquarters since the late 1800s.
I live in the OC, but constantly commute to LA. You pointed out some spots I've never checked out, thank you for this!! :)
No problem!
Vista Harmosa park - Amazing park to check out the downtown skyline
Huzaifa Badri yessss
Great video we took some of your suggestions and made a day of it. We still have so much more to see. Thanks for making our daytrip to LA a focused and enjoyable one.👏
This was so great! Thank you for the suggestions. I've been to LA before but haven't been to the Downtown area so will be checking out these spots when I'm back in June :)
No problem, thanks for the comment!
Daikokuya Ramen IS A MUST TRY!!
you will not be disappointed!
Sucks
An AMAZING video! Thank you! I lived in LA all my life and had no idea half of these places existed 😂
Not trying to be obnoxious but you just stated that you lived in LA all your life. So does it mean that you are currently not alive or am i chatting with a ghost?
MY home town and I was not aware of #16!! My only item pending from your list! Great job!
Skip dodger stadium and go to griffith observatory. It's not in downtown but it's close.
WHILE U R IN BEAUTIFUL L.A. SNIFF THAT FRESH SMOGY AIR AND DEAL WITH THAT NICE EVERY DAY TRAFFIC.CHECK IT OUT FOLKS.
Or the Getty’s museum
um, "close" if you go after traffic dies down..but then it would be closed anyway...
Never skip the Dodger stadium, how dare you
Yeah skip it especially with security guard Gary who like to pick on disabled customer s.
OR even acknowledging Orange County, which has EVEN MORE crazy shit.
this is just DTLA tho
Expect to be spending a ton of time in the car tho.
And that the arts district is the number one reason for gentrification in Los Angeles
And the cathedral is not old
Best and most diverse city in the world by far 😎
The next time you're at Smorgasburg, go to the 10th floor of the parking structure- there is a fantastic view of the skyline as well as a tiny park that offers yoga classes on weekends.
That sounds awesome, thanks for the tip!
Jotted down!
Very interesting things to do in LA. Tks for sharing
my favorite bar is the rotating bar at top of the Bonaventure
best spot for sunsets
and the outside elevators are fun too
Awesome videos. Keep them going. Over 10 minutes is good as long as the content is good which it always is from you.

Thank you! I’ve watched so many videos of the same places over and over no one mentioned this amazing locations
this video breaks some of the stereotypes of LA for someone that's only ever been to Venice and Santa Monica on a few 1 day layovers - everything here looked really fun.
AWESOME. i just moved to LA and this is an awesome to do list
San antonio winery and grand central market. Thanks for your advise
I'm a long time Angeleno. You've done a superb job with this list! Thanks!!!
This was so good! I’m going to LA from Melbourne next month and will do most of these! Thank you!
