I think what makes the 'A' appealing here, is that it reminds us of the 'N' of Nespresso. It's interesting to see this subconscious bias, because otherwise I don't really like putting too much emphasis on a letter other than the first in a logo.

Yeah the type reminded me of Nestle as well. Idk I think for these "luxury" coffee brands they tend to go for more hand-drawn scripts rather than the sans serif which I associate more with fashion brands

Very cool redesign! But am I the only one who thinks it looks like the Nespresso logo? 🤔 The wave of the A, the font and the colors are very similar!
I really like the bold look on the original logo, it's not cliche yet it still fits. But it's also nice to see different perspective from your work and sharing us your thought process even with the limited time you have. 10/10 content🤘
I really like the original colours, mock-ups and style of text the first person used. 🤷🏼♂️ might just be me but i think i’m more of a fan of the first logo.
yeah me too! i think the curve in letter A and the color of the whole logo that pale gold gave me shampoo Pantene logo vibe and kinda similar in font
or something like hair staff product but anyways awesome work!
Nice job Will👌 I love seeing your creative process and the way you solve problems. The detail of the "A" is super successful in my opinion, it recalls the line present in the coffee beans with softness and luxury. Well done😉

I love what you've done with the logo and packaging. Although the S looked like it needed more work. I especially liked what you had at 10:02 of the circles behind the logo. The cup in black and gold definitely gives that luxurious feel!
This kinda reminded me of Zimri Mayfield’s older videos, i loved them and loved this too!

I'm just a beginner in graphic design, I may be wrong but the "A" looks cliche to me, I've seen that type of curve many times maybe on some beauty brand logos idk...I really liked the other letters you created.

Cliché or relatability? I believe there is a difference, like why certain brands use a serif face over a sans-serif. Within the short timeframe, not wanting to veer too much from the original think the after was the better solution overall Noticed an issue with the 'B' straight away on the original, the 'S' on the update definitely needed work (looking at the curvature would maybe look better if flipped vertically)
So many logos are looking the same nowadays, it becoming more and more difficult to be unique. I myself started a personal project to re-design the AFI (American Film Institute) as I find the current version awkward. May post it on a reddit (at the moment I'm at the leave it, come back to it stage)

Loved the logo, not the circles especially when you added second set of those, doesn't look like luxury to me. Overall great work from a pro of course

I really like the brand pattern idea, using an elegant/abstract coffee stain. The execution does feel like a premium coffee brand, awesome work!
I don´t know if it´s just me, but what i remember looking at this redesign, and also a lot of coffee brands, is hair products, hair cosmetics. The waves, the black and gold. IDK but i feel this way with some coffee brands. But the redesign is beautiful.

Big improvement Will, well done. As an (almost) retired designer starting in 1972, seeing your 12 string reminds me of when I cut a pad off my finger, before computers were invented, when scalpels were a vital tool. I was cutting some bromide type on my board to be pasted onto the artwork with a steel rule and I was distracted and looked up, slicing the pad off my index finger. No pain amazingly, but took me a while to build up a new one even on my 12 string, which still have.

It wasn't easy pressing the purchase button on Envato Elements but it's worth it if you're a designer. I thought to myself that I probably wouldn't use most of the content but the more I use it, the more I have used more parts of the subscription. Takes the hassle away from looking on multiple sites for images, mockups and other assets. If you compare it to the Adobe alternative it's pretty cheap. Thanks Will.
A good tip for tracking that I learnt off of a typography god was to flip the type upside down and look at it in the form of shapes rather than as type. Simple but extremely effective.

The first thing I'd do is pronounce luxurious differently.
I like most of what you have done here! I think the A needs a major overhaul still. I’m not sure what but maybe forget about the curved line that you said reminds you of steam. The A screams “4” when looking at it.

I definitely miss your design/redesign videos. Haven't done those in a while. Love what you did with the logo and lettering. Not a huge fan of the pattern. I get the concept but I don't think it translated well. It looks like a generic tech background mockup sort of thing. BUT overall great job and impressive results for the timeframe 😊 Thanks for the consistent content!

That line in the A also looks kinda like the line in a coffee bean, like the one that basically splits it in half so that's that. Good job man

I don't get how others are saying it looks similar to the Nespresso logo because it doesn't to me. However, I feel an "A" with a swoosh is a bit cliché.

Designing is very subjective to the designer - despite the design rules. This is why I find it pointless for fellow designers to review each others work. From your Fiverr vids many logos youre not fond of but I can see them working.

Hey Will, when copying the vertical bars, you copied it over to the A and you skewed it, instead of rotating and lengthening it. Doesn't skewing make it less wide?
I thought so too. But I was more worried about the Pointy part on the letter A (at the top). How do you level it up with the rest of the letter or why didnt he choose to level it out. I do love his recreation.
Amazing work as usual, I love the invented curved "A" on the logo.
Have to be honest, I didn't really enjoy the redesigns from the first two episodes. But this one, this one works. I really like it.

Personally I actually like the original "A". Actually found the redesign to generic looking like every other coffee logo. Feel like if you played more with the points/thicknesses/maybe angles of the block would have been interesting.

@@Brocholly Nuh. The tool which doesn't change the width of the shape
@@Apogenezis he is selecting both top points of the shape and moving them both over at the same time, so the shape stays the same width. Unless I'm thinking of something else

anyone else annoyed that a lot of fonts make l (lowercase L) and I (capital i) basically the same thing?
This A looks disproportionally small near other letters. And why pointy top when other letters doesn't have one?
B and E doesn't match with S because of center line. S is like symmetrical top and bottom but B and E have much heavier top parts.
Also kerning just sucks balls. Nothing about it looks right.
It is solid first draft though.
You should've given it more love and polish.

Imagine trying to come up with a "luxurious" coffee brand name and ending up with "BEANS" lmao. Also if the name is Beans, why not introduce a bean into a logo itself, like making a lower half of a B solid and using negative space to make it look like a coffee bean? This just looks kinda generic, although very well executed

your logo doesnt have seriff type font....
Don't use Envato. Use Yellow images. Way better quality and much more realistic mock ups.

I think the word, "beans" is inherently static and non-evocative and perhaps would have explored iconography to create a unique mark. Probably would build from ovals or circles. Involving yet simple enough to draw in the sand.
