You can do it man trust me im 18 i work every single day and i commited and pulled the trigger on buying my coyote and its a dream come true if i can do it you can do it because I came from nothing
This video was very encouraging Rush. I purchased a 2019 Mustang Bullitt about a month ago and it’s my first manual transmission. It’s a great driving experience and I’m sorry I didn’t buy one sooner. Keep up the awesome work.
Just a note on the hillstart assist, it only holds the brakes for about 1-2 seconds or until the engine has enough power to move the car. Whichever comes first. But if you stall. You can still roll into the person behind you. My Mustang is manual, I don’t have an issue with hill starts anymore. But that 1-2 seconds can sometimes not be enough for a person brand new to manual.
never thought id do it, but i definitely am switching from the scat to a mustang 6 spd. idc bout being fast, the manuals are just fun to experience for the first time 🤙 working to get mine right now
Good to know that the 2019 has hill start assist. This was one of my concerns if I got the one even though I used to drive a manual some time ago. The hype around the ten speed being faster is making it difficult to make a final decision.
As some with a 2020 Subaru WRX some buying a manual GT, or GT 350.. get the manual. Pretty sure you can get tuned to walk A10s pretty easily, but if if you couldn’t.. the manual is just different. Hella engaging vs auto , on top of them being extremely rare these days, at least in the states
I know there's plenty of "How To" videos on driving manual, but can you make one? You're really good at explaining things so I think a lot of people would understand it better if you explained it
Notice the cup holders on the S550, go ahead put two medium soda drinks in them and go for a drive your shifting hand will not feel interrupted in any way, whereas in the S197 chassis because the cup holders where directly under the shifter you could not shift the car at all. The biggest improvement they did for manual drivers on the s550 was moving the cup holders in a way where you can use them and still shift the car as if they were empty.
It's funny you say that because I have a 2011 gt500 and recently I bought a 2015 gt (still have the gt500 too) but the first thing I noticed getting in the 15 was the cupholder not being in the way of my shifting haha
I think the true fun is knowing how to revmatch yourself. More and more work, machines does for human. In my opinion whole point of manual transmission is in its name . “Manual” is a manual. Glad you can turn it off. But nice video and the car man, good job.
I always rev matched in my Subaru when down shifting, it was a lot of fun but also less jerky on the car and passengers, also easier on the transmission. Getting ready to buy a mustang gt, good to know the this is an option, thanks! My first car was a 1984 Honda Accord 5 speed, now that I’m 48, I still enjoy driving manuals.
@@diabeticnova2636 it was a 2016 WRX decent amount of bolt-ons and a custom tune, 300whp, 6 speed manual, I daily drove it for almost 4 years, never had any problems at all, just a couple or recalls. I have a ‘22 Mustang gt now, love it so far.
This is an amazing video! Videos like this are what makes me want to buy a manual. Seeing as how so much technology has gone into the development of modern manual transmissions, they are not as hard to drive as they used to be. Also considering that mustang has a lot of power, the car rolls alot easier and you can get into gear alot quicker.
Easiest to drive a manual as beginner is a torque y4 cylinder non turbo diesel. Drove an old Toyota Hiace with a 3.0 no problem starting on uphill to feel to bite or starting on 2nd gear on flat. You can put 1st gear and release the clutch, it won't kill the engine.
I love power shifting. If you know what you're doing and have the stops set on the shifter so you won't bend the shift forks you'll be fine. A good aftermarket clutch helps too. I'd say 3rd would be the most common gear missed power shifting but if you've been doing it since 16 years old then you don't miss a gear anymore. I havent missed a gear in probably 20 years
Great video. Giving valuable information about the 6 sp manual. I am getting mine in Australia next month. So happy after a long wait. 6 sp manual, of course.
I've selling my 2019er GT because the 10speed is so scary and bad. I'm not happy with my 10speed car and i ordered now a GT with MT. I wish I had seen your videos before. The 8G ZF from Dodge is a great transmission vs the ugly noisy Ford 10G. Now I'm looking forward to getting my new 2019er MT in view weeks and your videos helping my over the time.. Greetings from Germany
I personally don't like the idea of the car controlling the RPM for me. The point in having a manual transmission is to have the control of the car and decide what to do with the shiftings and RPM.
Your video is the video I’ve been waiting for, I’ve heard nothing but negative stuff on the MT-82, I couldn’t find any info on 2019-2020 manual transmission, this well help to make better decision
Main thing is to just keep trying its going to be embarrassing at first stalling at lights and people being behind you and stuff but i got used to it after just a day
I drove one 2018 mustang gt, it was a stick shift. Cool lil ting, I think the key aspects are the clutch and shifter. I drove a older GT, and those clutches (stock) are a lil stiff. Its great for learnin how to drive manual doe. Not to mention the newer ones let you kno which gear you're in. I think its a nice touch they add that! 💪🏿 Auto rev match too, LOL!
I've been driving a 1972 Volkswagen Beetle with a 4 speed and its been the easiest manual I've ever driven. I have a hard time driving newer ones and I'm not sure why. So I drive a newer automatic and an older manual. But this Mustang is making me want a manual.
Good info video on the mustang features. I’m old school on driving a manual on hills. Never had a problem. Driving cars or trucks on hills. I have 07 GT with 5 sod.
What is so hard about tapping the gas before down shifting....now it's done for you...new technologies is just taking the fun and skill out of driving a stick.
No easier than the 18. Unless you are talking solely about the auto rev match which is the only difference. The best feature which no one ever speaks about is the “no lift shifts” the 18+ has. Have you tried that yet?
BADD PONY 2019 GT Mustang ROCKS thanks to ZANDER 13. Listen to his advise got the basic. made 20k in BMR, STEEDA, Pedder's Xtreme coil overs, Boomba trans mount, DSS drive shaft, ROUSH level 1. I happen to have a 2018 GT with a PP1 on it... I think the MT82 is a horrible transmission, but I feel like your changes with the clutch spring and shift knob have helped it quite a bit from it's stock form? I've only driven 3 cars with a manual transmission and my favorite one is on a 2019 Fiesta ST that I have. To each their own for sure. Mine is 100% stock and I feel like I can either drive it "decently hard" on the streets and be smooth, or if I try and go all out.... it's a disaster.
Hi Rush Shift. Like your videos on the Mustang and Challenger. I was wondering what day you think of old school Hot Rod and muscle Cars. Can you please make a video on your favorite Hot Rod and muscle car. Thank you and keep making awesome videos.

Those 5.0 always get my attention whenever they start up or drive by. It is an excellent symphony of the raw American V8. Music to my ears
I like that you drive a manual. I hope manual never dies ,but I fear that it will.

i started learning manual and lets say starting in the hill is hard asf LOL

It will. They are making less of them every year. It sucks.
nah it won’t, unless they make a 10 speed manual😂😂
I totally agree, the Mustang and manual were meant for each other. That's what makes it so much fun 😉👍
My wife has been trying to learn, and I keep telling her my 19GT is way easier than the 92 jeep I learned on.
