This was regarded as a "run of the mill pop song" when it was released. Think about the quality level then. Compare it to today's shit and it is almost a masterpiece. While humanity made a huge progress in technology in 2000s, it took a huge step backwards when it comes music and cinema.
Unfortunately, the youth of today (the audience for which this song is meant, if only they would give it a listen), probably would regard this as trash.

This is an underrated song. I did not know this song so much but when I hear this song now it’s really an up beat song with full of energy.

Wow i don't remember this song back in the 80's what a beautiful song and message I love the part where he says "teach them right" :
"Celebrate Youth"
I can see the older man
Looking at the younger man
I can see the younger man
Looking at the boy
Over there the older woman
Is looking at the younger woman
I can see the younger woman
Looking at the girl
'Cause every man sees
In the younger man the hope
And every woman sees
In the younger girl the dream
Everybody lives
The pride and passion of the young
From the womb to the tomb
We will remember what it means
So celebrate youth (celebrate)
Those who have it (young ones)
Celebrate youth (celebrate)
Give them sight
The future of the world's in the (celebrate)
Hands of children (young ones)
So celebrate youth (celebrate)
Teach them right
Looking in a child's eye
There's no hate and there's no lie
There's no black and there's no white
I can see the older man
Sometimes in the older man
I still see the young boy
Burning in his eye
And locked up here inside our spirit
Is the child that we are, hear it
Some of us will always fear it
And some will heed the cry
But everybody sees
In the younger one the hope
Everybody sees
In the younger one the dream
Everybody lives
The pride and passion of the young
From the womb to the tomb
We will remember what it means
Celebrate youth (celebrate)
Those who have it (young ones)
Celebrate youth (celebrate)
Give them sight
The future of the world's in the (celebrate)
Hands of children (young ones)
So celebrate youth (celebrate)
Teach them right
Looking in a child's face
There's no pride and no disgrace
There's no struggle, there's no fight
Everybody sees
In the younger one the hope
Everybody sees
In the younger one the dream
Everybody lives
The pride and passion of the young
From the womb to the tomb
We will remember what it means
Looking in a child's eye
There's no hate and there's no lie
There's no black and there's no white
Celebrate youth (celebrate)
Those who have it (young ones)
Celebrate youth (celebrate)

Yeah great album. I miss being a kid too. Especially the energy that I used to have. Haha.
@@coolcat6303 My favorite RS album with Rock of Life as a close second.
Tao is one of his best album's
The movie hard to hold with Rick Springfield is or very good 😊😊😊😊

catchy no doubt
this should be the theme to NCAA March Madness/College Basketball
This album and Rock of Life were very good. Rick is kidded as being pop but there is a lot underneath. Father's Chair is another great song.
Oh yeah...This message...this beat. Timeless. ⏰
