  • Hello everyone,
Today's video is a collaboration with Jeff Pedley on Twitter. He has kindly allowed me to share 20 tips for ECTs, which is for first term jitters. His tips come from his 13 years of teaching so make sure you watch all of them to find out his words of wisdom. You can see his links below.

Great tips, especially the printing although in my last school everyone had the same idea and printed out after school so it was actually easier to print in the morning!

@@PetitePrimary always remember your ‘why’ on bad days. Why you became a teacher, why you love working with children. It’s important to remember that when bogged down with paperwork and work politics!

Loved this, found it super useful! I started my pgce in August and placement starts next week, I'm really worried about not knowing everything in the curriculum, do you have any advice? Thank you :)))

Hi Maddison! So glad that you found it useful ☺️ To help with subject knowledge, read the national curriculum once you know your age group, and check what you understand. If you can't define it, maybe look more into it so you can gain confidence ☺️ Also read any class texts in advance so you know what's going to come up and will help with your planning x
