Hi, when do you think is the best time to have your application done by and sent off? I know applications close in September (?) but I’m not too sure when to aim for, so if you could please answer through your experience, it would be really helpful, thankyou :)
What's exactly disrespectful about wearing jeans?
Hi there, I am considering a career change (from journalism) to teaching and these videos are really cool and very useful. Thank you ⭐️
You're very welcome 🤗 Are you applying for teacher training atm then? X
@ Hi, yes I am…. It’s a big shift because I love the work I am leaving in many ways (investigative journalism) but it’s a very uncertain world and I love history and have enjoyed coaching before …. So I am hoping teaching history will work well ! How are you finding teaching these days ? ⭐️
It’s okay not to share everything on here you know 🥰
Very true ❤️
Excellent point: as teachers, we also have to support those who see things differently as well.
Absolutely, that goes without saying. Adaptive teaching is fundamental, but giving flexibility to allow children to try different things, methods or approaches is also useful. My reel was generally speaking though as I know teachers can often doubt their own abilities if somebody can't see or understand their vision (be it for a lesson, activity, behaviour approach etc). Merry Christmas 🎁
Had my first observation last week😅
And? How was it? ☺️
@PetitePrimary was very good. More positive feedback than neg.
Well that's great news! @@okvr90
6 month experiencing it all…a disaster. They have got it all wrong.
Oh no, what's happened?
First time stopping by, i must say you have really given me a lot of insights. Very educative video, i just subscribed❤
Thank you so much, that's very kind! Are you currently applying to teacher training then?
I think a) because then you keep having to switch and it would take more time
True, but then you also have to keep flicking through the mark scheme too! I'm still unsure which is quicker 🤔
My primary school teacher used to mark sat papers my lining papers up against all the desks and sliding his chair across the room 😭
I mean that’s one way
That sounds pretty fun though I can't lie... Not sure my chair would do that across carpet though. I'd be pulling myself on tables to move the chair 😂
🤣🤣 What do you do?
@@PetitePrimary 😭😭
Thank you. Interesting info and details.
Thanks for sharing this useful information.
I just got my first assignment back and I failed so I'm going to redo it (some of it) and I'm here now. Hoping you can help me.
Oh no, what was your feedback?
Good tips. Thank you.
You're welcome, thanks for watching ☺️
How do I contact you for support with my uni personal statement?
Hi Mollie, Easiest to message me on Instagram @thepetiteprimary x
Hi Petite i wnat to know about subject knowledge aduit what is this?
It's normally a checklist which goes through objectives and you have to self evaluate how confident you feel in that area or how much knowledge you have.
What if you aren't being supported?
Hi, could you be a bit more specific please? X
If your mentor and team are not supporting you or even saying hi back
@@heavensgate271 Speak out and tell your training provider. That's not acceptable and not fathomable
Yes it is not and not acceptable I'm too old to put up with that bs
@heavensgate271 you're paying for training, make sure you're learning. Can't do that with no communication
I am already on my training. Going well.
That's good to hear! Enjoying it too?
Yes, it's really fun to teach, especially when you see the progress with the student @PetitePrimary
@@okvr90 So true!
Thanks for sharing your Interview tips.
You're more than welcome! Which one did you find most helpful?
Thank you for your Formal observation tips. I appreciate it.
No worries! How's your training currently going? X
Thanks for sharing Trainee teacher interview questions. I appreciate it.
No worries at all! I have lots of interview tips once you start applying for jobs too 😉
I'm two months into my first placement and received a cause of concern for my lesson planning. I am a part time student so I haven't had the full support with lesson planning as other full time students. I had really knocked my confidence as I was making good progress in my previous meetings, now I have an urgent meeting next Thursday with my personal tutor.
I'm sorry to hear this Jordan 😔 It's hard not to panic, take it to heart or let it ruin your confidence. I hope Thursday will be ok. Feel free to message me @thepetiteprimary on Insta if you want a chat x
Are you really leaving? Ive been watching your videos in prep of starti g my journey.. x
This is generally an informative video, I'm not saying I'm leaving. Thanks for checking in though 🥰

I recently completed my bachelor degree in primary education yet i don't have experiences work but it have more than 3 years of teaching as trainner can i apply ?
Yes! There are lots of transferable skills from being a trainer. Go for it ☺️ If you need any help with your personal statement, you can message me on insta @thepetiteprimary x
I have my PGCE Physics interview comong up with the university of Sussex please i need more information on interview anyone please.
Do you have QTS too?
Are you done with your interview I also have physics interview with Leeds trinity university I also need some tips
I remember after getting bullied my mother asked to change my class and they said it's none of their business 😢
Can i do primary education without uni
You need a degree and QTS to become a primary teacher
Hall Linda White Daniel Jones Linda
Excuse me?
I got bullied on my old course and the uni didn’t stand up for me at all, I felt like quitting but I decided to leave and go somewhere completely new (I’m now having a lovely time)! having a bad experience doesn’t mean you are bad❤️
Thank you so much for a) watching, b) for sharing and c) not giving up! It's horrid to hear about your first experience, but I'm so glad it's better now 😁
Is it enough of an evidence to just write about what I have done in class to justify point number .... in TS? What evidence can I bring to show that I changed lesson plan during the lesson to adapt to class knowledge? Also, if I am revising to update my subject knowledge, what evidence can I provide? Given that I might be just reading ks3/ ks4 books or going through bbc bitesize.
Hi 😊 - Revision/BBC Bitesize notes - Adapting mid-lesson can be shown through reflection notes or you can mention it in mentor meetings which will then be noted down Hope that helps x
Hi, I had a small thought I'd need your input on. Would you bunch up several different word mats to form a larger word bank? I'd typically laminate them, punch a hole in the top corner and tie them up together. This could typically last the entire year and if they hopefully skim through it, they might commit some of those words to memory. What's your take? 🤔
No harm in that, but depending on age and academic ability, it could be overwhelming. A little like some children could have a whole page full of corrections, but it's best to pick a select few that they can edit without having too much to look at. You'd also have to consider how you help them navigate all of those word banks. For some children, giving a whole pack could make them feel like us reading a whole book. There are definitely pros though - I'm just playing devil's advocate. What do you think?
Hello , can I have your email address!? I need your help in selection of topic . I have few in my mind and I'm confused 🤔
Can u do some week in the life as a teacher also with outfits of the week please.
Starting training tomorrow and I’m so excited! I’m already thinking about what I want my classroom to look like when I do qualify (is that too soon lol)
Yay, are you excited? Classrooms vary so so much, you can be imaginative, but it's impossible to truly picture what it'll look like! Part of the fun (maybe)? 😉
@@PetitePrimary I’m very excited and a little nervous (anticipation etc)
@@cassieosbourne7666 That's completely normal. I hope you enjoy it though! Will you go straight into school? X
@@PetitePrimary yep. My entire PGCE is in a school (I’m in year 1)
@@cassieosbourne7666 I was school direct too, but I think we had like one or two training days too. Honestly being in the classroom is an incredible experience - learning on the job is the best because every day is so different!
Hi I am currently a bsc mathematics and a MSc data science holder. So I wish to. Have career in teaching . So what exact qualifications do I need more
You would have to do teacher training (with or without a PGCE is irrelevant) which will award you QTS. This stands for Qualified Teacher Status which is what you need to teach.
It would help our Children alot if you could teach them about CHRISTIANITY 👑✝️👑
Religious education is taught as a subject in the curriculum but all religions are covered. There are some Christian schools in England, but if they're still under the government authority (not independent), then they will still have to cover other religions but they will pray and have religious assemblies.
It's pronounced 'Pee-Un-Ee'
Thanks! Knew I could rely on somebody 😂
Starting my teacher training next week and I’m so so so excited to meet my mentor and find out what class I’m in

Hi Alice, Thank you so much - what lovely words and I'm glad you enjoyed it! Regarding your question, what do you mean by "third class?" X
@@PetitePrimaryI mean graduating with a third class from the university (first degree)
@@aliceedache7226 Ah I see, sorry I still had (school) class still in my head. You will have to check course providers as some may accept this and some may not. They will also look at your GCSE grade, including science if you're interested in teaching primary x

Hi Sophie, Thanks for commenting again! Yeah Year 6 can be daunting, but like I mentioned in my video, I felt the same. Build those relationships ASAP and establish and encourage good learning behaviours from early on, especially nearing SATS. Good luck! Xx

Hey Sophie! This is multiple years old now and I've made many videos since as I've changed positions and year groups a few times now. Funny you mentioned Year 6, I've just finished teaching them and released a video yesterday about my experience (the good and bad). Have you seen it? I can link it if not x

2. Definitely. And those questions should be around the personal statement you made me write... because it shouldn't be a pop quiz full of impossible hypotheticals where the only honest answer would be "depends on 1,2,3,4, and 5 factors which you have not provided at this time".
Option 2) was popular when I posted this on Instagram too! Although by the sounds of it you're not awfully keen on personal statements either?
