Dear Thomas, You made so many mistakes in your NQT year and this is completely normal but there are so many things I wish I could have told you.

Thomas you talked alot about perfection and it is ok not to be ok, so very true. Sometimes you become so caught up in the goal of perfection thus putting alot of stress on yourself that you don't recognise the enjoyable moments when they occur. Creating relationships can make such a big difference in many ways even academically. Great idea for a video. 😃

Here's a few more. The more you tolerate, the more you have to tolerate. Teach as you can and not as you cannot. Make your first lesson first-class - you may use it often. Have small basket/container with spares of everything in so that when someone interrupts you and wants a pen or sharpener or an eraser you can easily pass them the container without changing your position in front of the class. You'll ever have another year with this much PPA to actually use for yourself...Go and visit other teachers, watch them teach, shadow, ask to team teach, do some reading etc USE THE PPA wisely! - Strategic (how to benefit your teaching or school) not operational (marking)
