Honstly, the V1v2 is amazing enough for me on default, settings- changing only the threat volume and dimmer. But it will be stellar when I can figure out what frequency is used for automatic doors & security systems.

haha of course! I needed to go reshoot the first half of the video the next day and specifically made sure I kept the second half just to save that part. :)

Not to crazy about the power button. Got my v1 ver2 last week and it's a pain to turn off. The modes change.

I went ahead and deleted jbv1, it was just too complicated and hard to program, I couldn't get the thing to shut up. I downloaded this app with your recommendations and it is completely quite until it see's the police.
Yeah there’s definitely a learning curve with it. It’s probably the most complex app available which is why I don’t recommend it to everyone, despite the fact that I’ve done a 3 part video series teaching you how to set it up and use it.
I was all set to ship my Gen 1 to VR as a trade in then they got shut down from covid19. It doesn't matter a whole lot, I'm not traveling much and the Highway Patrol seems to be busy with other matters right now.
It’s unfortunate that I just found out they updated the V1, I went on the website to upgrade my V1 but it’s down because of this whole pandemic.
recent trip from ny to nc with the v1g2 was a little disappointing because even with the recent update i'm still experiencing slow arrow transition and bogey rampups..

I know that many run LI or parking sensors , but having Laser off (see above at 17:03 ) is NOT good since there are many a scatter save or its nice to know laser is out there.
Can you program GPS into it???
Once I create a custom profile in the app and save it to the V1, how does changing modes effect it? Say I setup a City X Band Off profile that uses Advanced Logic mode. If I use the button to change to All Bogies mode, does it remember my settings from the app when I later switch back to Advanced Logic?
I live in a suburban area with lots of false alerts. However, when I drive on back country roads here in Ohio (who uses X Band), I want to be able to easily switch to All Bogies without using the app.
You're the king. Mine just arrived now that we know Theia isn't coming anytime soon. Question: I assume these settings changes stick regardless of future phone connection. For multiple drivers, is there a way to make dark mode only active when I have a connected phone for display? I want a dark V1 and alerts through JBV1 but my wife won't always have her phone out when driving. Update: Now I see the light bulb on the main screen. Getting closer. Update 2: Dark mode off but then JBV1 set V1 Display Panel to Auto. As soon as JBV1 announces connection, it goes dark. Radical
Hey Vortex. Great videos. Just installed my V1 Gen 2. Do you know if there is a way to disable to boot up sounds / test sequence, either manually progamming it from the detector itself, or from the V1connection app? I dove deep into both and couldnt find it, but maybe I am overlooking something. Thanks!
I just received my new v1 gen 2 the other day and powered it up and it has a like a low volume frequency tone coming out of it , I’ve read on some v1 forums that other people are experiencing the same thing. Is the norm for this detector and have you heard anything about this
I can turn my radio up to drown out the noise but I don’t think this is normal
I did use the included power supply to see if it would change anything but it’s still there
I moved it to another one of my vehicles and the tone is still coming out of it
Could you check with the founder of Valentine one and get his thoughts on it

I just got my V1 Gen 2 today (17 Dec 2020) and it comes with the latest firmware so I am wondering if the video that you posted here dated(17 April 2020) is now obsolete.
No. There have been a few updates since, but they're mostly bug fixes, not settings changes.
As a new Valentine 1 Gen2 customer who is not very familiar with radar, can you tell me which app and what settings (JVB1 or V1 Connection) would be best for me on my motorcycle? BTW, I do have a helmet headset for sound. I find all the information overwhelming.....thanks.
Anyway to close the iphone screen and have the v1 still connected? V1 connection app will close when I lock my phone will this also happen with V1 driver? Thanks
V1Driver does an awesome job automatically reconnecting in the background, even when you unlock your phone

You can only run one app connected to a detector at a time. So close one to use the other.
Can it turn off V1 Brick mode?

Why am i having trouble connecting with the app? It won't pair for some reason. So you have to pair it in the phone settings first then with the app or doesn't matter?
Does this only work when the app is in use or at all times after programming?
So can I program the V1G2 via this app, then close the app off and just run my concealed display? As in. Will the settings be saved even when not connected via the app after the initial app programming?
Settings, yes. GPS features, no.

It’s not designed to detect photo radar like MRCD. Sometimes it works if you disable K Verifier, but then you get endless K band falses, making the detector unusable.
Question: I bought the V1 Gen 2 recently and have it mounted in the visor (Blendmount + MTX mirror tap). I want low speed muting but I dont want it to rely on my phones settings. Sometimes my wife drives the car. Does the SAAVY connect wirelessly to the V1 and does the low speed muting on its own?
Savvy plugs into the V1's power port and serves as both the power source and the low speed muter.

Is the gen 2 supposed to work with all concealed displays? I have a old one and I cant get it to work. The button on the concealed works but no display just stays on the v1. The concealed works with my gen 1.
Depends on the version of your V1 Gen 1 I guess. Mine work together. There is a new CD coming for the Gen 2.

So it seems that every time i turn the car back on it defaults to not even the app’s default mode but a different one. Do i have to launch this app every time i get in the car to have my settings? It seems that way. Am i doing something wrong? I basically want dark mode to stay off and when i connect my concealed display without having the app on it reverts back to the factory settings This is specific to dark mode it seems. When i do a test and put it in logic more or all mode that seems to stay, but dark mode. never seems to stick.. do you find the same thing?

So, when you say to use the V1Connect app to configure the V1 Gen2, but then turn it ofd to use other apps like V1Driver, is that because those other apps can’t be used to configure the V1 Gen2?
Right and if you have V1connection running, it won’t allow you to have another app connect at the same time.
Do i have to use the V1 driver when i use the radar?

Yep
It doesn’t seem to retain them. Mow mine is plugged into the cigarette lighter for now. Not sure if thats the issue but it reverts back to out of the box settings
