- ABANDONED BARN FIND First Wash In 10 Years! Nasty Ski Boat | Satisfying Car Detailing Restoration!! Today, I tackle the interior & exterior of a Malibu ski boat that is covered in dirt & debris and filled with tons of leaves that hasn't been washed in over 10 years that will require us to pressure wash the entire exterior and interior, followed by a extreme interior make over, then a clay bar and then polishing the paint to bring back its shine.

It had to be heartbreaking to see how bad of a condition the boat was in, after your parents took great care of it before it was sold. So happy you could do this for your Mom. 💜
Must not have been that heartbreaking if they sold it to begin with. Boats are money pits. That boat brand new cost an arm and a leg (go see what they cost USED for this same make boat). Why did his mom sell it? Because its a money pit. After you realize its a money pit you get rid of it and you are happy its gone, no regrets.
@@mrfunkington No way dude, do the work yourself and it's not a money pit any more than a car is? The memories are priceless with your family/friend time in the boat. I had a boat as a kid till 20 when I left for the Navy and just got a big jetski and now looking for a boat to restore like this for more memories! Don't be cheap, life is short have some fun!

I noticed your mom had a MAD shirt on. If you go to the Kneady Homesteader youtube channel, a woman named Heather lost her husband on feb 13th, hit by a drunk driver with ab.345 alcohol level. Her two kid's took some pretty bad injuries, and Heather is in rehab, should not have made it. She lives near me, so sad . She tells the whole thing in her first video from rehab. God bless.

It had a cover on it. It was the dsisgusting chunk of fabric you pulled out looked like a nice cover in its hayday. From personal experiance some people have good intentions and stuff happens the run out of money have kids get old get injured. I have sooo many projects like this. Ive seen people spend 5 grand on something for their family to end up completely trashed a year later. Sailrite has some great reappolster vids

I got over it. After my dad sold our COBALT from the 1980’s was mint. My dad was very very proud in meticulous as you in cleaning. Everything in the boat was as new . It was kept in a storage covered out if the sun. Used only in the summer months when the weather was not gonna rain. Yes we got caught in thunderstorms [not fun] we would every spring bring the boat from storage to wax polish bow to stern. Stain the teak wood. Polish the rims use a rust remover if any rust gathered then wax till even the tandom fender was as slick as ice shown like a mirror. It was tan/brown . With a mercruiser 200 hp 5.0 my dad got the smaller engine to conserve fuel burn. Plenty of hp to water ski and ride tubes and water toys. Never ever beached or kept in a slip. Maybe once or twice got through boating or needed fuel we trailered wiped down used omc’ had a bathtub ring spray was used with damp to wet towel. Even when we camped it stayed covered I even would get after it with the wax/polish. Yea I got the odd ball look but got compliments on her. I knew down the road these boats were gonna do a change and upgrade but ours was paid for and ran. Plus you wanna talk about sticker shock. Make anyone cuss in their head. But their great investments in doing things with friends n family. And flushing out your sinuses with lake water getting bucked off a tube. My dad knew how to just right use the boat left right then goose it. I’d grip the tube use my weight my chest muscles were as sore as can be. But if you just wanted a simple lay n ride you need the V-hull to create big wakes at slow speeds well I was happy spending birthdays in the boat it was part of the family attached to a best friend. Then go in grill hamburgers or just pic nick with the top up eating or making sandwiches no telling where she is or how she;s doing. If she is was abused I’d take her away from you give you five bucks say you have no business owning my childhood and ruining a best friend. I may be 40 now still the memories. Make your mother proud, re upholster the seats go through the engine make sure she’s ready to make your mother happy.

Love the video! I would not have gone through the effort to spray paint the interior or redo the carpet, given it needs a complete floor and stringers, but your detailing of the gelcoat was excellent. Nice old boat. Classics never die, they just get rebuilt, hopefully to as good or better than new. I would be interested to see how it came out?
