I am glad that You Tube prompted your video as it is just the type that I like to see! Your calm narration and good videography makes for interesting, informative and entertaining viewing, and your choice of soundtrack adds to one's enjoyment! I particularly like your vessel, and an really pleased to see that you are investing the huge amount of labour, materials and finance needed to bring her back to a seaworthy condition. I shall enjoy catching up on your video archive and am pleased to subscribe to your channel. Whilst I usually can't stand videos which contain sponsored promotions, I wholeheartedly support sponsored promotions of materials used in the actual project and which may be of interest to viewers like myself, which this particular product is!

This is the best bost restoration on you tube..its memorizing to watch..you will end up with a boat better then it left the factory..I love your sarcastic humor ..its hard to believe the amount of work that has gone on in this restoration..your knowledge is incredible very few people could take on a project this huge ..I look forward to all of your videos..you make my day.
I cannot believe the amount of effort you have put into this project. I have enjoyed each and every episode from the very beginning including the interesting and humorous commentary to the occasional music. I hope that in a new future episode you include a celebratory gathering of friends showing us all how much fun you will be having!
I'm not jealous, I know what work you are doing. I'm staggered at the thickness of the various fillers and paints. I just finisher repainting my 16 year old yachts deck, third time, I only have 4-5mm layer.
I love the narration over the time lapse... I just caught these in the recommended column and started with this one. I find myself wishing we knew what it looked like inside... the layout... and I wanted some idea of what you want it to look like when you are done. You've probably done all that in earlier videos so I guess I have some uploads to check out.
You've done an amazing amount of work...congratulations !!! With the sound insulation, you might want to tape all the seams with metallic air conditioning duct tape to make it a continuous surface. Noise can transfer through the small seams and reduce the effectiveness of the sound barrier.
Great Video and your presentation was exceptional. Thanks from America. Seems all countries have boat yards and people that love living on the water. May we all share that love along with Peace !!!
Sometimes you have to make choices that may not be right but are right for you, You have taken on a great responsibility that most would walk away from, keep up the good work, forever forward. Hello from Milford Ct. USA
I am beyond impressed with the amount you have learned through this project, I love that you not afraid to show your mistakes or even that your not a boat builder. This channel will give many people who want to do this that extra push because they can relate to not knowing a whole lot. All you need is the will to do it and the rest comes with trial and error. Thank you for documenting these.
I can only say, I am extremely impressed at you attention to detail on this quest. Your insulation/ soundproofing was a masterclass on its own. You have turned this collection of issues into a practical, functional and beautiful craft, truly worthy of a proud captain. I can’t wait for splash day and subsequent adventures. Congratulations on your hard work.
I found you recently and love your work and videos. I’m addicted to all forms of boat restoration on TH-cam, you are among the best in my view. As for the suggestive pattern on the hull, it’s detail looks intact and correct from someone from a French speaking country! All the best on the project
with those adhesive insulation sheets, you may wish to consider using a roller to really press the whole sheet onto the wall, to ensure a really good adhesion!
You are doing a great job! Your boat has now become your new lover! When you are not with her you are thinking about her! That what happens with a boat rebuild!!!!
Wow, I cannot believe how much Bondo is underneath that paint. Btw if you want a tip to help you out as you go forward, here is one for you. Feather back those edges completely, where you have removed Bondo feather back the edges all the way. The purpose of this! so you will have the maximum amount of surface area to help secure the new Bondo to the surface of the boat. Hope this helps you out, the boat restoration is coming along great by the looks of things. Keep the videos coming bud. cheers ...
You have brought us an amazing project brilliantly done. This 'shitty' boat is outstanding in its perfection because of your precision and dedication. Congratulations for turning a 'rust bucket' into a prime example of craftsmanship!
What you're grinding away is "fairing compound" Used to "fair" the hull... Or give it the final shape and smooth. Fairing compound is much different then just normal "filler compound" Investigate this and discuss it with your local marine supplier... From the looks of the trapped water you'll more then likely be removing all and starting from a bare hull.... When it comes time to do this find a local that has some experience with this. There's is a trick and process that will help a lot with your final result... You'll need a yard that offers blasting service. Looking good. Keep it up!👍
Hopefully this advice is followed. It would be better to save up money and have this done by someone that has done it a thousand times and has all the right tools. Patching the bad areas until they have a chance to get this done is a good idea.
I just bought that exact same sander to sand my boat. I attached my shop vacuum to the exhaust tube on the end and I ended up with virtually no dust to clean up. Just a little food for thought.
W końcu to skażenie morza. Zazdroszczę możliwości☺! Wiek nie pozwala na takie "doświadczenia"😉!! Wierzę, że efekt zadowoli armatora, a woda, wiatry i stopa wody pod kilem, pozwolą na wiele radości z pływania☺! Pozdrawiam z Gdyni, miasta stoczni i samemu doświadczającemu radość z pływania☺
Well Done, This is going to make a huge difference with heat and cold as well as noise reduction. It looks like an amazing product and you did a very good job installing it. Very nice!
I've seen waaaaay worse. At least the hull is steel! I can't believe how thick the paint is! Once you get her sandblasted, she's going to drop a couple tons displacement :D
wow that's a lot of feller in some places hope the boat underneath is ok. nice to see it properly its a nice boat even if needs some TLC keep up the hard work and you will get there
That was a lot of work. There seems to be an excessive amount of filler in some places. You are doing a great job. I can’t wait to see it in the water. Edit: the shape of the one hole in the paint looked to me like a “hawk sitting on a branch”
Next time I start a project and then want to quit because it gets too hard, i’m gonna turn on your videos for inspiration. Man, I am impressed with your dedication to this project.
I feel a lot better about my boat after seeing the amount of work this boat requires . You are fearless and makes me want to sort my boat out ASAP . You are an inspiration .
Ultimately, a strip and repaint would be best but understand that's not possible where you are. The thickness of the bog on the hull is incredible, this would add so much weight, also the bog being hydroscopic is where all your problems are coming from with the blisters.
Probably the best video so far in this series. I laughed my A-- off at your commentary while you were grinding the hull, too funny. To date, what you have done with this project is truly impressive and I cannot wait to see the boat in the water! Great work as always. One suggestion, you should introduce yourself in your opening so we can all relate to you. I've been watching you do your thing for months now and I still don't know your name!
For me it’s a perfect way to handle patching the outside of the metal hull, they’ve been doing car bodies exactly like that for as long as I can remember (60years), except yours is on a bigger scale, anyway, think of the positive, it will help with the ballast 😂😂 great job, take care my friend, 👍😃
You need to be inlove with what you are doing for take a task of this size. And with the boat, of course. Congrats for your courage. Keep it on ! Just only wait to see this boat in water ....
my families been a big fan of kilrust for years, kilrust, bog, sand an paint, takes a bit longer but, it works for us. you've done well. excellent work m8! if your throwing the solar panel away, pass it this way please. nice work, I didn't think you'd get this close. so next weeks splash an party?
Looking spectacular but damn you got some body work to do they looked like 3 inch deep on the sides of that hual but this makes it exciting for final reveal
Get a bigger grinder when you work on the outside paintwork, it will make a massive difference with the amount of work you will have sorting out the paint.
Great to watch just like to say be carful around the exhaust might. You want to have it tested for asbestos could be very dangerous. Look forward to the next episode.
A friend of mine had a boat very similar to yours many years back. I think it was a few feet longer, but not much. He bought it in the Netherlands and we brought it over to the UK. It was a memorable trip in November. We took it from Neuport, down the canal to Dunkirk. (Before the Dunkirk port re-build). We then took it through the ship lock next to a massive cargo boat, and across the channel, chasing the ferry. Okay, so they beat us to Dover. But then, we only had a 9-knot hull and it was in the back end of a force 4. We then had a sunny trip around the coast and up the Thames to its new home. I wonder what happened to the boat? That was in the early nineties and I have lost track of the owner.
Good day gentlemen, I came to your channel from vlog 29. I am Dutch. The boat caught my attention because of its model. Then I discovered that you are going to completely refit this ship. I like to follow that and that's what I'm doing now. I just finished vlog 34. I will also watch the previous vlogs. I am also curious whether you will also take trips with this ship. I haven't actually looked at your vlogs yet to see if you are going to do this. I hope so. For now I will continue to follow you.
Great work and I'm glad so many chipped in to help you along. More channels should follow your lead. A lot people making a small contribution can make a big difference to a project. I hope that is what happened to you - given there were too many names to give us all a mention, I am assuming that was the case. Looking forward to the next video. Thank you.
I recommend you use heating duct work metal lined tape to tape your seams and around the pipes and areas where there are seams, it will make a difference in sound and reduce speed of firespread. If you have any Fire and it gets into those seams and behind the insulation it will burn hot and become very toxic! It would be money well worth spent if for a sad reason it catches on fire in the middle of the water sway from land. It could also reduce the fire getting oxygen! You could also place a decent size CO2 bottle for Fire protection and/or use a fire grenade placed in there in case of fire! I am a Former Fire Chief and Paramedic and they have and will continue to save lives. Out on the water you are your own fire department for a Emergency due to the delay in getting help! Keep up the great work 👍!
There is this aluminum tape which is nice to cover up all the edges on in and outside corners on the insulation panels as well as seams where panels meet or were cut. By the way I hope you kept all the hard wood to reuse if there was any.
Your new stylistic editing and running commentary is increasing in humor and overall entertainment value! Well done! :)) I came for the project. I subscribed for the creative videos!
Great progress in everything you have done to your steel boat so far .. TOP .. !! and I saw your new sanding machine, that is a well-known brand. But what I didn't expect is that so much plum is smeared on this boat .. if I saw it correctly in your video that there is almost 4 cm plumure at the bow. wonder why they ever did that? because steel expands in summer and shrinks in winter, moisture will always get behind the plumage.
I look forward to these videos every week now. Love the editing, humor, commentary, occasional music and the boat! I'd donate if I didn't just buy my own first boat, lol
Looking very good, The soundproofing is a good quality item When you can see the boat better it’s got good lines and nice look, Keep up the good work But have fun👍👍

Interesting and the music was wonderful. I'm a sailor who used to play the violin. Good luck with your ongoing project. It looks good so far.

Cockhull seems like a fitting name. 😀 You’re doing great work. Thanks for letting us follow along.

this build.
HAND ROLLERS DOES MAGIC FOR APPLYING THIS PROPERLY.
CARRY ON.
Well Done, This is going to make a huge difference with heat and cold as well as noise reduction. It looks like an amazing product and you did a very good job installing it. Very nice!
I concur with Michael Franz. Very educational and enjoyable. Thanks.
I've seen waaaaay worse. At least the hull is steel!
I can't believe how thick the paint is! Once you get her sandblasted, she's going to drop a couple tons displacement :D
I hope not. Next thing you know he'll have to rip open the bilge floor... again... and then pull out all that ballast or she'll sink.
wow that's a lot of feller in some places hope the boat underneath is ok. nice to see it properly its a nice boat even if needs some TLC keep up the hard work and you will get there
I think you are doing a great job. You sir have a lot of skill

Edit: the shape of the one hole in the paint looked to me like a “hawk sitting on a branch”
The amount of fill is pretty normal for a steel, aluminium or concrete pleasure boat.
20 year boat builder here, great job.... 👏
the word has many meanings when it is used in a personal sentence... damn a person. he is a brave person
looking forward too your next postings. thanks for the view.
Next time I start a project and then want to quit because it gets too hard, i’m gonna turn on your videos for inspiration. Man, I am impressed with your dedication to this project.
The first boating video´s with good music
my next project is a dutch Doerak 700 also steel motoryacht, learning from you will make a big difference
What a lot of work, you're doing a great job - hopefully you'll feather out those holes, otherwise you'll have problems sooner rather than later....
You said not to comment on the shape of the damage of your patches. But I think you should be changing the boat name to CakaDik
I feel a lot better about my boat after seeing the amount of work this boat requires . You are fearless and makes me want to sort my boat out ASAP . You are an inspiration .
Love the reasoning behind the name change 🤣👌🏼 looking forward to following this build.
Love the music. Strangely fits so well with the project. A mixture of joy and tragedy!!
Very good, you impress. Looking forward to the next video.
Ultimately, a strip and repaint would be best but understand that's not possible where you are. The thickness of the bog on the hull is incredible, this would add so much weight, also the bog being hydroscopic is where all your problems are coming from with the blisters.
A nice isolation product you found there. Very interesting.
You have the best background music on TH-cam. Beautiful!
Probably the best video so far in this series. I laughed my A-- off at your commentary while you were grinding the hull, too funny. @@eltsennestle998 LMAO!
This has to be the funniest episode you have done yet. It cheered me up after a bad day. Thank you from the uk 🇬🇧

Wow that's one hell of a first boat
I love the lines of your boat. Doing a great job, can’t wait to see it in the water.
You have a good friend, him letting you use his van.
Have to say for a boat that’s not being sand blasted, you’re doing a good job with what you’ve got.
Well I think you have done a wonderful job on your boat, quite fantastic and hard work. Happy sailing.
Great to watch just like to say be carful around the exhaust might. You want to have it tested for asbestos could be very dangerous. Look forward to the next episode.
Great job Swede, I don't know your name so we'll go with that. Looking forward to seeing you sailing.
So excited.....can't wait to see it sailed... And also later..... Full time lapse...
Je suis fan de ta chaine. C'est super inspirant ce que tu fais. Bravci. Bravo-merci.
For all the spaces that are cut to big or just hard to reach you can get sound deadening paste to trawl in.

Nice work, enjoying your vids. Interesting how they allow you to do all that grinding etc right by the waterway and not in a blast enclosure
You’re music choices are excellent ♥️

Came for the boat. Stayed for the personality, great video man
Отдельное спасибо за музыку. Желаю семь футов под килем. Хорошая лодка, хорошее видео.
Very nice job installing the insulation on the walls, they look great!
It has been a mammoth undertaking and your efforts are amazing - well done
Looking awesome brother. You might use a linoleum roller to stick the soundproofing on there a little firmer😁
I just stumbled onto your video, very good work, I will be following. Thanks for the entertainment.
Can I recommend that you let sealant dry hard and trim and scrape afterwards. Less chemical cleaner and wasted cloths.
Great work and I'm glad so many chipped in to help you along. More channels should follow your lead. A lot people making a small contribution can make a big difference to a project. I hope that is what happened to you - given there were too many names to give us all a mention, I am assuming that was the case. Looking forward to the next video. Thank you.
The insulation looks great make the engine room look so clean
I recommend you use heating duct work metal lined tape to tape your seams and around the pipes and areas where there are seams, it will make a difference in sound and reduce speed of firespread. Keep up the great work 👍!
your neighbours will be so happy when they come to collect their nice clean boats and discover 5mm of grinding dust over everything.
Nice engine room nice and big easy to work around thats great 👍
There is this aluminum tape which is nice to cover up all the edges on in and outside corners on the insulation panels as well as seams where panels meet or were cut.
By the way I hope you kept all the hard wood to reuse if there was any.
Wow what a difference a from an ugly duckling to a Swan nice work loved watching you transform her
Just found your channel. Ive always wanted to restore an old boat.💸 Great job! Enjoying your sense of humor.
It's all starting to pay off, great work can not wait to see it on the water.
Nice cameo role for the screw driver!
Doing a very nice job looks great.
Your new stylistic editing and running commentary is increasing in humor and overall entertainment value! Well done! :))
I came for the project. I subscribed for the creative videos!
man cant wait to see the final result, ive been following this channel from it 1st video
I'm enjoying your vidios your doing a great job , can't wait for next week , take care
Super bravo for this video, your courage, the thoroughness of your work .... your boat will be very pretty ... !! Big hello from France, Vincent
I look forward to these videos every week now. Love the editing, humor, commentary, occasional music and the boat! I'd donate if I didn't just buy my own first boat, lol
1 week left until floating!?! How exciting for you! Congrats. Looking forwards to the next epidode of exterior patching. Good luck freind
Awesome video and great entertainment. Even the background music fits perfectly!
Wow! I thought we had a huge project! That looks like alot of work...but, looking good!!
I love your ingenuity great show
As always Denny from Minnesota
Looking very good, The soundproofing is a good quality item
When you can see the boat better it’s got good lines and nice look,
Keep up the good work But have fun👍👍
That insulation stuff cost a fortune thank god they sponsor you.
There is no magic stuff it is so thin you will be adding layers later on.Over the ribs first. Nice job instaling it though.
