Among many, one of my favorite things you do is practice and preach trash cleanup and, in your last video, proper disposal of fluids. Love all your content!
Man, you are truly a wizard! Like some said here before, I can't fix my lawnmower, whereas you brought a dead engine back to life. Well done and it is indeed a very interesting video. Many thanks!
This guy takes a boat that's been left to rot and gets the engine to turnover and then fire up. Meanwhile I can't get my 2 stroke weed whacker to start lol.
@@thabokgomotsomonyera98 That and some people are just extremely gifted and mechanically inclined. I have nothing but respect for him and others who can do this.
Hell I remember when he was taking apart and rebuilding quads and dirt bikes in 8th/9th grade in his moms garage.. most of us at 14 didn’t even know how to change oil, let alone rebuilding engines for fun. 🤷🏼♂️
Thought I was gonna skip through this video watching highlights. Dang if I didn’t watch every minute of it, this is pure entertainment. You are my bro, that I don’t know.
Epic. I picked up a trashed Larson in about the same condition - cleared right up and got running pretty easily. I didn't ripe out the interior like you did but probably should. haven't been in the water yet - too late before I got it going here in NH
Thanks for picking up plastic. I do the same. Fun little boat project. Put a bass boat deck/elevated floor on it with cheap ply and the gull will firm right up. You could fill the void with 2 part closed cell foam. Put a perf pipe along the keelson and drain any infiltrated water to the stern
Great job getting that old boat going . Made me feel old watching on account I had a Bayliner Capri with that exact motor & OMC leg I bought new in ‘88 . It is probably sitting out there somewhere rotting now too ….
We have had Bayliner on the half of the family since I've been alive. Even though the first ones were not running anymore due to no mechanical experience the latest Bayliner with a 4.3l remains in near mint condition for a mid 90's boat. I've had a blast tubing with it and seeing the beauty of those spo r t boat on the water to today's standards. Especially the used market what a jem
The “Escort” trailers supplied with Bayliners are actually decent units. They were hot dip galvanized along with all of the hardware and resist corrosion very well.
Hello Chris and Jen from Sydney Australia. You did an amazing job with the fibreglass boat (Trashliner). What about spray foaming inside and foam block under the seats? Recycling for Philadelphia If there's a market: it fluctuates, but separated cardboard, glass, plastic and metals can make the city money. From my limited knowledge, it's transport cost. 🇭🇲💰♻️
Вас зовут по имени Крис, на переводе не очень понятно, удивительно вы отлично владеете механике, вы служили армии наверное там работали механиком, у вас прикольно получается видео, заброшеный катер, белка во дворе, и конечно уборка в территории площадки общества.
Chris, I always wanted to ask, what do you do with all your watered down oil/ watered down gas. My local dump won’t take oil of it has water in it, or gas in general.
I had a couple of them. Bought them cheap and they were built cheap but I had so much fun with them. I took the 25’ foot cruiser I had all up and down the Florida coast and even went 10 miles out into the Gulf of Mexico and mechanically they were solid and no problems.
Ich muss sagen, als ihr an der Mole vorbei seid und Vince das letzte Mal die Festmacherleinen vorbereitet hat, hatte ich auch Gänsehaut. Meine Gratulation zur Weltumsegelung
Bayliner is the bottom of the world of boats, no floatation and numerous other things, but, trash clean up is a nice thing to do. Good luck with your new, to you, old junk. Are we really that lazy that we cannot clean our own trash? Your the man, and thanks for your part in trying to keep some beaches in this country clean.
I worked with a guy who had just quit Bayliner in 1990. He told me how the quality had gone from excellent to total sh*t. I guess many of the most experienced employees left at that time
That's like my favorite thing to do . Florida is a gold mine for a fiberglass repairman. People ride a big jet ski and flip out after they realize they don't have breaks or reverse . Fast quality work and I do it all !!!
wow, ton of work. been a long time subscriber, but never ventured into trashliner series. thanks for the fast video. where im from (CT) you see these boats for free all the time. now I know why..
i pick up a boat, motor and trailer in the middle of the desert yesterday 18 footer with a 150 mercury motor and tandem trailer, first thing i did was replace the bearings , travel to home was over 200 miles, the bearing were shot, rebuilt all the bearings and seal and added buddy bearings, came home rebuilt the carbs and fixed it all and the motor has only 110 hrs on it , ! check the owner on it, and the boat was stolen and left in the middle of the desert near a gold mine, found the owner and asked him if he wanted the boat he said no , so now its a salvage unit, ! and its mine. it took some work getting out of the cayon but well worth, thank god for my harbor freight 12000# winch and doubler,
Amazing mechanic skills. Congratulations, you could transform the most complicated thing in the easiest. I like the little tree in the boat to indicate the wind speed. 😊
This looks like about a 1987 Bayliner Capri 1900 with a 3L 4-cyl. It's an absolute wreck of course, and would not be restorable, due mainly to lack of parts. I restored my 1986 Capri to rear-original factory interior and upgraded to Chevy 350. It will do about 52 mph.
Great job. Last Bayliner I delt with , was an outboard the electric starter fell off and owner to cheap to buy screws so we rope started it ,ran great. Oh great little helper, you must be ok if a wild animal trust you.
That Bayliner looks like around 1988 when I was a young guy I worked for a boat dealership getting these boats ready for sale and taking customers out on them on sea trials. These boats were shit brand new coming off the truck things would be broke on them before we even touch them. The only thing good on these birds is when they switch from OMC to MerCruiser and that was a good thing but the rest of the boat sucked falling apart as you looked at it……
Keep the motor toss the boat. Whats with all these pet squirrels. Lots of boats out there with shot engines and good boats shells. Usually you can get them for free. Just look for the same motor boat then you have parts or an extra leg.
