@@YrocFrick You're partially correct. Automatic transmissions are more fuel efficient in this modern era. Manuals used to offer better fuel economy but not anymore.
Wish honda would put some ambient ribbon lighting to enhance the smart interior design around the centre vent grill, door panels and foot wells. Something the German brands are very good at.
For $39,000 the Accord is such a huge disappointment. Looks are subjective so I’ll just stick to features although I’m not a fan of the new front end. 1.) No fog lights. 2.) Not enough sound deadening; Honda is known for having noisier than average cabins. 3.) No heated steering wheel. 4.) Blind spot monitoring w/ rear cross traffic alert is an additional option from the factory, weird, especially for the top trim. 5.) The digital display looks borrowed from a VW Jetta. It doesn’t take up the full gauge cluster and just leaves huge plastic borders on the sides (which I’m assuming was done on purpose so that it’ll seem like a “huge” new feature when they update this model in a few years to have a full display 😉). 6.) The sound system truly falls short, especially when Mazda also uses Bose and it sounds beyond incredible in their vehicles. 7.) Their backup camera is a joke. They’ve been using the same cheap-a** ~2mp camera for the past 10 years now. 8.) No front camera and/or no 360 degree camera. 9.) No panoramic sun roof. 10.) The lack of premium touch points like brushed aluminum or chrome on the interior. 11.) I guess this is subjective to styling, but why they chose to use a worse looking rim than what’s on their sport trim is beyond me!?! Every time I see one of these in the sport trim (yes, the base sport-hybrid trim NOT the all black rims on the sport-L hybrid) with the nicer rims I think it’s the top trim and then I have to remind myself it’s actually not. I hardly even notice this accord with the rims they use on the touring. What a huge let down this Accord is :(
Test drove the 1.5T EX and then the hybrid sport back to back. Preferred the driving dynamics of the lighter 1.5T which also didn't sacrifice much comfort compared to the hybrid. Most of my commute is through country back roads and on the highway so fuel economy wouldn't be too different between the two. However, I am worried about the blown head gasket issues reported for the 1.5T.
It’s only anecdotal, but the 1.5T has been great in my civic. There was also a 2022 civic that went 1 million miles already with the 1.5T, so unless you’re putting a crazy amount of boost you’ll probably be fine
Even if a blown head gasket is a common issue with the 1.5T, it's a $500 job at the independent. Never use dealerships for anything, they are just robbing people and also they don't know what they are doing, don't be fooled by the fact it's official Honda service. That being said, I would rather go with the Hybrid, it has even better fuel economy and the EV side makes it peppier from a dead stop. Also probably quieter overall. And that being said, I would probably rather go with the 2023. CR-V Hybrid, and I'm a sedan guy who owns a 2018 2.0T Touring :)
@@vladimirtalijan I used to own the 2018 2.0T, unfortunately it had it's share of issues. Probably will look at the Arteon next since I don't like SUVs but really want AWD, great practically, and a good, efficient power train.

The Bose stereo was a deal breaker for me. I ended up with an urban gray Cr-v sport touring. The Cr-v has the subwoofer and the accord doesn’t. I’m missing the cooled seats and the heads up display but having awd and heated steering wheel is a worthy compromise. Great video as always!
It's not at all 😂😂 the steering wheel already gets heated in the sun fool 😂 the best features are not looking down and being cool , so yea you went upside down lol
CVT and lack of SiriusXM were dealbreakers for me. But I'm keeping my 2018 Accord 2.0T Sport so the point is moot. It would take a lot to make me give up the torque and speed I already have.
That sucks. The previous Accord EX-L and up had a sub in the rear deck. Dunno how that sounds. We had a ‘19 Sport 2.0t and the audio quality was by far the worst I have ever experienced, and I drive a lot of different cars.
That's the problem with hybrids. They have so much electric/electronic components that they are going to be a nightmare to deal with. Even with Honda reliability. The best combo was ice no turbo, auto transmission noncvt. But that's gone
The Chinese version of the new Accord is way more luxurious than the US version, and it only provides 1.5 liters version and PHEV instead of HEV version in the US
Back up camera view suggests 360 cam add in the future. Overall, seems like smooth ride and brand recognition are what it's grounded in, very low on features at 40k.
im surprised they gave the Pilot a 360 cam but cant give the accord or CRV a 360 camera. Like Honda is so slow with tiny features like that and they cut down to two ways lumbars support seat. Quite weird packaging for that price tag
I wonder how many people (like myself) would just love to have a dependable comfortable car that doesn't have nonsense such as heated steering wheel, assisted cruise control, gooble-ee-goop infotainment. Strip it down to a quality built car without bells and whistles that can prematurely fail or rob you from a true driving experience, and you've got a winner. Toyota? Honda? Anyone?
What do the different "eModes" do? There is a button marked "e" below the main dynamic selector, according to Honda it lets you choose an EV, auto, or charge mode. Have you tried this?
Any Accord ever made handles better than the Camry :) This one and the 10th gen are a pleasure to drive, and Touring models have a feel of a much higher end car.
You have to pay $34k just to not have cloth seats and you only get mid 40s MPG, take the Camry XSE/XLE hybrid all day. Way more feature, looks better, cheaper, more reliable (Toyota hybrid tech is 20 yrs in the making) and it will actually be more sporty than this new Accord.
From regular / economy car brands Hyundai has the best system overall in terms of luxury cars I drove the Mercedes E450, BMW 540i, Genesis G80, and Lexus Gs 350 both systems from Mercedes and Genesis were excellent and reliable

@@YrocFrick You're partially correct. Automatic transmissions are more fuel efficient in this modern era. Manuals used to offer better fuel economy but not anymore.
I've gotten 35.1 hwy on 9th gen V6, pretty surprising how close it is
I've been averaging 43.4 mpg. I was cruising on the freeway at 80.
Can't believe it's 40k for Accord
Really wished they kept the features from the Japanese market Honda Accord into this one. It would sell like crazy
Honda is making some really nice stuff, it's a lot of money but this Accord is awesome
how’s the sound system in honest opinion
I didn't like how hard it was hitting bumps and cracks in the road really noisy thumps into the cabin.
Amazing job with my dream hybrid bestie.
No heated steering wheel is just unacceptable on the top trim :/
It’s a great car, but the infamous Honda road noise drives me nuts.
Crazy how expensive cars are getting. I remember when a brand new Mercedes C Class had a lower MSRP than this and I’m only 23.
Wish honda would put some ambient ribbon lighting to enhance the smart interior design around the centre vent grill, door panels and foot wells. Something the German brands are very good at.
Your style of review is very good. I'm surprised you didn't mention the heads up display.
I love my “18 Honda Accord Touring 1.5 reliable no problems for me
Would you say it’s quieter on the highway than the Camry?
ye
What a huge let down this Accord is :(
Blind spot monitoring is standard. At least on the top trim. I’m not sure on the others.
Why no fog lights…you don’t need them till you need them…but you will need them, if you’ve ever been in a bad fog storm.
Very good review, but you mentioned few squeaks and rattles. Could you give some more details on those? Thank you.
I had a 10th Gen 2.0T Sport. This thing is nice but wish it had another 50HP and TQ from the electric motor if the 2.0T had to go away.
Thats a new car
Seems like Honda just made the Audi A5 but about $10k cheaper, very nice
wish they offered this as a wagon
@@astaldo a 2022 with 1 million miles already. Right.
Assuming it was bought two years ago (730 days) it would have to be driven at least 1,369 miles PER DAY EVERY DAY to hit a million miles. Didn't happen.
@@jeffb.6642 you’re correct, it was 250,000 miles. It’s a Car and Driver article, if you Google civic 2022 250,000 miles it’ll come up. I misremembered the number, but I knew it was some integer multiple of 250,000 and had confused it with the 1 million mile tundra Toyota bought back.
which one do you prefer CR-V hybrid vs accord hybrid?
I may consider getting one of these.
Which one is better the accord or camry. ?
@@androskris I have a 2017 fusion sport with the twin turbo v6 so when I want a little fun I’ll hope in that.
That sucks. The previous Accord EX-L and up had a sub in the rear deck. Dunno how that sounds. We had a ‘19 Sport 2.0t and the audio quality was by far the worst I have ever experienced, and I drive a lot of different cars.
Hi. How is the Bose stereo a deal breaker?
They got to add heating steering and 360 parking view in the 2024 model
If you are going to pick a car that you will drive for 20 years… this accord hybrid touring or crv hybrid touring?
That's the problem with hybrids. They have so much electric/electronic components that they are going to be a nightmare to deal with. Even with Honda reliability. The best combo was ice no turbo, auto transmission noncvt. But that's gone
Looks great!
Wait it’s going to fade away? The sound when we brake? Can you elaborate please
The Hybrid has a 2.0L as standard equipment and no option for anything else. The 1.5L turbo in the non-hybrid models is not great...
The Chinese version of the new Accord is way more luxurious than the US version, and it only provides 1.5 liters version and PHEV instead of HEV version in the US
I'm seeing newer accords around the area I work. All hybrids though, and seeing mostly the platinum whites
Seriously, the CR-V and Accord should have 360 cameras. I hope that's fixed and added for the 24 or 25 model years
I wonder how many people (like myself) would just love to have a dependable comfortable car that doesn't have nonsense such as heated steering wheel, assisted cruise control, gooble-ee-goop infotainment. Strip it down to a quality built car without bells and whistles that can prematurely fail or rob you from a true driving experience, and you've got a winner. Toyota? Honda? Anyone?
Thoughts on getting one of these Accords instead of an AWD CRV for winter driving with snow?
What do the different "eModes" do? There is a button marked "e" below the main dynamic selector, according to Honda it lets you choose an EV, auto, or charge mode. Have you tried this?
You just sold this car for honda to me. Great driving n commentary.
I wished I would have waited for the Accord, I instead purchased the new Integra which is seriously lacking.
Super Executive🔥😎
Is this car too big for a new driver?
Love the video. I just can’t wait for your review on the civic hybrid. The accord is just to big for me.
What would be your pick between this and the Camry hybrid? Do you think this one drives and handles better?
Any Accord ever made handles better than the Camry :) This one and the 10th gen are a pleasure to drive, and Touring models have a feel of a much higher end car.
This is definitely better. Camry is in desperate need of an interior and exterior refresh
@@bitbat9 hell noo u ain’t know what u talking about check xse hybrid
@@vladimirtalijan how much is your total cost including tax for your Honda accord touring?
You have to pay $34k just to not have cloth seats and you only get mid 40s MPG, take the Camry XSE/XLE hybrid all day. Way more feature, looks better, cheaper, more reliable (Toyota hybrid tech is 20 yrs in the making) and it will actually be more sporty than this new Accord.
To top it off awd would be perfect
So similar to the new civic. Too bad North America misses the hybrid civic.
Wish it had ambient lighting
Do the headlights pivot or illuminate corner lights when turning L or R with lights on?
Topher, in terms of the adaptive cruise, lane keep assist/centering, what companies would you recommend?
From regular / economy car brands Hyundai has the best system overall in terms of luxury cars I drove the Mercedes E450, BMW 540i, Genesis G80, and Lexus Gs 350 both systems from Mercedes and Genesis were excellent and reliable
how does this compare to the mazda 6 touring non turbo
If only they kept the 2.0t with the 10 speed.. it was much faster than the TLX because of the weight difference. Can't have Honda beating your premium brand in the states..
46k in Canada for this model 🫠
