The pricing on these cars are crazy. The fact that a CR-V Touring, Accord Touring, and entry Level Pilot are all in the same price range is WILD to me.

    • @stanleetfk3823
      @stanleetfk3823 ปีที่แล้ว +43

Pretty easy. Supply and Demand. Supply is still poor due to chip shortage. Demand is still high despite the high finance rates. This situation will turn around if rates still go up. Being a new model released, I do believe Honda bumped up the price due to the release costs. Billions in R&D and production line retooling. It's definitely a combination of factors for these high prices.
However the high interest rates will slow down the sales of new cars, and I can already see brand new Honda cars on dealers lot in Ontario where I live.

@StanLee TFK it's an artificial supply shortage now... many dealerships are full of cars again. It's the bad dealers not loading their lots like they used to. There is a cevrolet dealership right next to me which has at least 30 brand new Silverados just sitting out front.

People need to stop worrying so much about features and realize that driving dynamics and build quality are other important criteria in a car. You can get the Accord, which doesn’t have a 360 cam and pano roof, but has plenty of other great features, a premium build quality and fit and finish, and the best driving dynamics in its class.
Or you guys can take the worse-to-drive, cheaper built, worse interior cars with a couple needless features.

Yeah they made this car pretty non quirky. They kept a volume knob (although it is weirdly small) which for me it's a dealer killer when there's no volume knob because I need to quickly be able to adjust volume, they kept a real regular automatic shift lever. I got to test drive the 2023 Accord EX-L and it felt like I'd driven it for a decade and 30 seconds.

Thanks dudes. Great pros, cons and overall summary.
I just came from the local Honda dealers. Interestingly, one dealer had zero on the lot and the second dealer had every Accord option in at least one color. Based on your review, along with a couple of other TH-cam channel reviewers, I was very much looking forward to seeing the latest Accord in person. Well I walked up to one via a side profile. I immediately thought, it looks as big as a Ford Crown Vic from back in the day. Why is it so big? Then I thought, is it as big as last year? Again, why did they make it so big? At least offer a sport station wagon (estate) if its this big, please. The inside looks great, though. I was overall disappointed.
I currently have a KIA K5 EX with the Tech package, a more interesting look. I change cars about every three years so there's me.

I will say this: As a Honda fan, If Toyota still has their Camry TRD 300hp V6 models, then I’m never going to look back at the pitiful 192hp 1.5T Accord and this 206hp hybrid. I loved the older 278hp 2017 V6 Honda Accord’s and even the 252hp 2018 2.0T Accords that used to win drag races against Ecoboom Mustangs; but if this pitiful 192hp is all they got that’s not a hybrid, then I am no longer on the market for an Accord, and the Accord is dead to me.
I understand that not enough people bought these higher hp products, but it’s just sad to see the performance options of V6, V8, and 2.0T disappearing.

If I wanted a hybrid, I would buy one but I've been spoiled by my '21 Accord Touring 2.0T. I cannot express my extreme disappointment that Honda nixed the 2.0T engine. I wish Honda would have dropped the 1.5T engine, offered this hybrid powertrain as the entry engine option and kept the 2.0T for those enthusiasts among us. But no one asked me. I'm sure the masses will flock to it but I'm officially done with Honda unless they bring back a more powerful Accord option. I’ve always been a fan of Accords since Gen 1. IMO, each Gen keeps getting better. So many people are bemoaning the loss of the 2L Turbo, but I won’t miss it. I go for the Accord for its smooth quiet cruising, which is what the Touring model is designed for. If I want a driving rush I’ll buy a Mustang GT - which I did, too. I take it on mountain roads and I love it.

    • @trucktwister

I just can’t help but feel that this is a mercury grand marquis brought to the modern day. The bland flat styling, rear connecting lights, low flat long hood, and the defined trunk lid being back just all reminiscent of a town car, marquis, or crown Vic. Can’t wait for every senior citizen to be driving one. The 10th gen will be dearly missed. Honda made the accord cool again last generation and lowered the average buyer age. This is sure to raise it. I’m picturing a lot more civics on the road this coming year.

What a tragedy that Honda removed a higher engine option. It's a good car, with great fuel economy, but much too slow, especially from a roll, and especially in today's day and age. An Accord from 15 years ago had 64 MORE Horsepower and would blow this things doors off. Simply put they neutered the Accord for 2023.

Not shopping for a new car by any means, but while this new Accord's hybrid powertrain is genuinely impressive, I can't get very excited over this new Accord. Killing the 2.0T 10-auto is very sad, and the fuel economy here, at least for highway commuting, isn't much better than what's offered with the 1.5T (on the Touring trim). AND they also saved the best features (infotainment and sound system) for the Touring trim which is almost $40k.
However, I'm much more excited to see this same new powertrain in the Civic Hybrid. Personally, that seems like the hybrid I would go for. Slightly better audio system, hatchback, better fuel economy, and most importantly, a $30k price tag for the top of the line model.

  • @AdrianO.

I actually really like what they did with the exterior, I think they made the right move going for a more upscale design, and I think it looks good. Huge improvement on the interior as well. I think the biggest mistake Honda made with this new Accord is the powertrains. I have no problem with the 1.5T base engine with the CVT, or this 2.0L hybrid, I'm bummed out that Honda no longer offers the 2.0T with the 10 speed, probably the best engine ever put in an Accord, and it was really the staple for the last gen Accord.

The 22still have that 10 speed auto and a few subtle options like fog lights and the wheel styling. But there’s 23s all come with sunroofs and once you go from a sport and up standard comes the 12 inch screen. That’s not enough for me to buy 2023. I will still be looking for a 2022 sport 2.0
