I’ve made this recipe. It’s wonderful. I don’t mix everything together first, I divide all ingredients between the jars so I can be sure they’re equal.
That's a great idea!
That’s what I do as well.
That's what I do, too!
I divide it up too.
I was thinking the same thing.
Meals in a jar were a lifesaver for us this fall when we were both ill at the same time. This quilter's heart is always charmed to see a little quilted cooling mat. I think I need to get one done for myself.
I am learning so much from watching Canuary. Happy Canuary 24!
❤Thank you Ladies! What a wonderful, soft voice, it makes learning, so stress-free! I’m glad you’re using the ball book because I can see what you’re saying, and doing! This looks delicious!
Dinner in a jar! love it! Thank you Renee for showing us this great recipe. Thank you to Leisa and Forjars for sponsoring Canuary!
Any time!
Ive done meals this way with the meat, added sweet Potatoes, carrots, celery , onion , salt & bay leaf, no added liquid. It creates its own juice from meat & added veggies & is wonderful.
I’ve made this before and it’s so so so good! I also do mine in pint size jars, because it’s just me, and I don’t want to waste food. A pint is usually 2 meals for me, and no waste!
I love the meals in the jar from this book. They make life easy when you are busy. My mother passed away almost a month ago. I treasure the things that she gave me from her own kitchen that she no longer used but I still used and needed. There are memories that go with them. That little magnetic lid lifter that your mom gave you from her kitchen will make you smile and think of her every time you use it.
Hi Tammy, my mom passed away the end of September. Not a day goes by I don’t think of her. I am so sorry for your loss. I know I really appreciate all the memories. Prayers to you and
@@pikecreekfarm thank you Rene. I remember when your mom passed away. I held on to my mom a little tighter as she struggled with her health issues. I think of my mom every minute right now but I am grateful for Canuary this year more than any other year.
❤️❤️❤️. It is a good community. I am thankful too
I love that it’s a heat and serve meal in a jar. This would be great for camping.
I love ready to go meals in a jar. I had breast cancer surgery and radiation last year and it was so convenient for my husband to open jars offood we had in our pantry and just heat up our dinner. This Beef Stew is a must try for this year! 😋 Thank you to you, Leisa and Forjars for Canuary 2024
I love the idea of having a complete meal in one jar. Thank you so much for being a part of Canuary!
January is such a good month for canning when we are all visitor and visiting burnt out after the holidays and have the urge to just hunker down and do some nesting.
I agree with you that the best part of Canuary is getting new (or reminded of old) recipes and learning about channels I haven’t visited. Chuck roast is a favorite here!
Yay
I canned this very same meal in a jar this past summer. It is absolutely delicious! and thank you for being one of the collaborators along with Leisa and ForJars!!!
You are so welcome!
This is a great book! Love that many of the group is sharing the recipes from it, so I can find more that I would like to make! Another great recipe! Thanks for being part of canuary!
Meal in a jar recipes are an absolute life saver!! I had to have ankle surgery a couple years ago & these type recipes kept us from starving. Thanks for giving me another recipe to add to our pantry!
You’re welcome
Who wouldn’t love having a meal in a jar ready to go? Brilliant idea, thanks!
You are so welcome!
OHHHHHH! A meal in a jar is just what I need! It's so nice to be able to take a jar off the shelf and have a meal in just minutes. Best part is we know just what is in the food - unlike the stuff in the store. This is great!
So true!
That would be awesome baked with a bisquick topping! Will you have a video of how you would use this?
I will!
I’m new here for Canuary. Thank you for showing the whole process of using the pressure canner. I’ve felt a bit intimidated by it and have just used water bath, but I’d like to give it a try. I like the “meal in a jar” idea too!
Amy, Dr. Pam Cantrell has many pressure canning instructional videos on her RoseRedHomestead TH-cam channel.
@@randyweber6576 Thank you! I’ll check that out.
Thanks for this opportunity Sutton’s Daze and Forjars ❤❤❤❤ love Canuary

So good to see you Renee. I like that you use the ball recipe book for your chuck roast. It's a good guide to follow. Thanks for being a part of this collaboration
You are so welcome. Ball is always reliable. It is what my mom used too!
My husband is a truck driver and these recipes help keep him feed while he’s on the road
What a great meal to can up. Looks so good, thank you for choosing that one to use for the collaboration. Thank you Leisa and 4jars for sponsoring the 2024 Canuary.

I've been canning since 2020 and it's a joy from beginning to end, I'm grateful for all the different ideas, the generosity of time given, and all the giveaways from SuttonsDaze and Forjars. Thank you for sharing.
This is my favorite recipe of canuary so far. A meal in a jar is perfect.
Thank you so much!!
Meals in a Jar are real timesavers and handy to grab and go lunch. We can venison here too. I like how you show a good way to check if steam is coming with a utensil handle. "You hear it but you can't see it" I've burn myself pretty bad thiinking I could just feel for the steam.
Steam burns are the worse!!! I learned the hard way to open the lid away from myself.
This looks like a good project to get meat out of the freezer and onto the shelves. Appreciate the work and education you all provide us!
I've canned stew, and I've canned raw pack beef but never thought of this. I've definitely got to get this on the shelves soon! Thank you! I'm so thankful for this collaboration of people who can safely and explain why because I'm learning how to can simply be following channels like yours.
Canuary collaboration is the best! Love ForJar lids as well.
Thanks Renee. What a fun collaboration and great way to be a part of a new team of like minded people. Go team!!
Absolutely!!

This will be a wonderful quick weeknight meal to have at the ready for those crazy days where I don't plan ahead as I should! Thank you!
Happy Canuary ❤ Watching all the canning videos has definitely made me confident that I can do this. I'm disabled now I can't stand long. So my favorite hobby is "cooking", but now I can't stand for very long. Learning how to cook in the jars and having them on the shelf just waiting on me to heat them up. WOW Life just got good again. ❤ Thanks for sharing your recipes and knowledge with us.
You’re welcome!
❤ I can’t wait to try this. I was lucky enough to find a used presto 500 circa 1989! I have used it 2 times, I only have the option to use at 15lbs pressure. But so far only 2 failures per batch 😂 been waiting for a deer this season ❤ thank you for sharing
Wonderful!

Canned meat is a lifesaver on a work night. Thanks for a great canning video.
You got that right! You’re welcome
You can almost smell how good that is going to taste. Blessings
You have a wonderful, understated way about you, and your voice is soothing. I canned with my mother many years ago, but only did water bath in the last 30 years. Last year I watched many videos and FINALLY got over my fears of killing my family with botulism and took the plunge. I have done mostly pumpkin and meals in a jar. I opened one of these up last night - delicious. The people who want to keep it less carbs had it just as is, while another jar was thickened and poured over rice. Heavenly. Thank you, and I agree with your thoughts of everyone getting together in thought and spirit as canners. While I hope to win a canner, I realize I am a winner already with the knowledge. Thanks, everyone, for doing this Canuary.
Thank you so much!! How exciting you took the plunge!!! Congratulations
