  • Here I’m programming two Motorola PM 400 model radios for GMRS. These are surplus eBay radios with cut wiring harnesses. Thanks for watching!

    I know you have been out of the radio game but do you remember the version number of the cps software used for the PM 400. I have the whole set of cps and want to save some time. thanks

    On the initial opening of the Commercial Series software I'm getting a note the it is "Unable to open the Controller". Does this mean that I have to have the radio connected first in order for the software to actually open? Thanks

    Hi is this pretty much the same process as the Astro Saber CPS for the XTS3000? I am a complete newbie and I need to program 28 radios for GMRS. I can't seem to find a specific tutorial with the info I need.

    Hello, thank you for the video, also I was trying to look at which version of CPS you were using, does this use a different CPS than MotoTRBO CPS? I could not tell from the video..

      I really can’t remember where I obtained this software. I had a bunch on an old computer given to me luckily. Thanks for watching!

    Hi thanks for the information it is greatly appreciated, I just bought two of these radios and have no clue of anything pretty much other than push to talk to them was trying to transmit but no luck everything is the same on both radios with the exception that one has a little H on the display and the other one has a L could that be the problem?

    • @DIGGINGDEEP007
      @DIGGINGDEEP007  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure on the H & L. Make sure you go into the software and check your comm ports. The newer radios tend to program easier, even with the cheap Chinese cables.

      I would make sure you have the PL tone set correctly. If you’re programming repeaters, make sure you have the plus 5.0000 MHz offset set properly as well. You’ll be receiving on 462 and transmitting on 467Mhz. If you can’t figure it out contact me again and I can give you my cell number to walk you threw the process.

      I’ve been out of the radio game for sometime other than basic use. However, if I ever had problems I can recall it being a Com port issue most of the time. In the software you should be able to com port check as well.
      Also, if that doesn’t help it could be the cable. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

    Hello, I liked your video a lot. I’m in the same situation with two radios I bought in eBay. I just need to know a little bit more about the software you’re using to program the radios. May be the version and if there is any way to get it.
    Thank you very much.

    Are you still able to program these radios

    • @DIGGINGDEEP007
      @DIGGINGDEEP007  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I do believe I have the software somewhere. However, I have most of my radio gear packed away. If I’m not mistaken, I purchased the software off of eBay.
      Thanks for watching!

    Hi, great video, I was able to program my radio thanks to you my friend.
    My radio also has Frequency Range (MHZ) 438 000000 - 470 000000, will I be able to program MURS frequencies by any chance ?
    There’s any way of expanding the frequency range in this radios ?

    • @Bootyhunter1971
      @Bootyhunter1971 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No, murs is VHF (154 mhz) unfortunately.

    • @GetBent520Az
      @GetBent520Az หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have the programming software that allows 25hz bandwidth if you need it. The newer version forces narrow bandwidth however if you have an uhf version it is stuck to uhf. There is another version that is vhf that supports Murs I’m pretty sure

    Do you still program PM400's? If so, what's your pricing and how can I get it to you?

    • @DIGGINGDEEP007
      @DIGGINGDEEP007  ปีที่แล้ว

      Negative, I lightly use and or mess with radios much more. We have a family GMRS repeater that rarely gets used. Also, Motorola is pretty strict with the licensing etc. I was lucky to have a local retired gentleman let me borrow the Motorola software. Thanks for watching!

    • @DIGGINGDEEP007
      @DIGGINGDEEP007  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      As far as the XPR4550 radios, I haven’t programmed any that new. I’ve only done the older analog radios, but like I said the newer are usually smooth sailing. Good luck!

    I have the version of cps available for free if anyone wants its r.16 from 2011 that doesn’t ban 25hz bandwidth. I’ll share a google doc link for download I fortunately had it saved from years ago when I programmed my cp200s this software also work with those pr400 and ep450s
