    I used sandblaster to remove old varnish from this vintage oak dresser. I also tried spraying water based wood stain for the first time and used patina to give the hardware a rustic look.

    OK, I really appreciate the fact that you sanded everything, inside and out. It drives me crazy when I see furniture flips when they just do what is seen.
    Also, that wood grain is gorgeous! Not to mention the hardware. Loved it!

      I agree. My old dinosaur always says "If a job is to be done make sure you do the full job, half a job is a waste of time." I like the fact he always seems to go just that little further to make what he does perfect. Even places that will likely never be seen, get TLC. Loved how the wood grain came to life with the stain, the colour is just right for it.

    I probably repeating myself but I love how much care u give to the inside, under, behind ... if I buy a furniture piece I would check on these details. Well done, again very beautiful work.

    This is what we need to be buying and taking care of - classy furniture that was made to last. Not trendy junk that ends up in landfill when fashions change. I subscribed after watching the first video I came across, hooked on the skill and attention to detail. I'd be proud to own any item renovated by this man, and would be willing to pay a good price for it.

    I've watched some of the tool and metal items restoration channels that use sandblasting. Seeing how difficult the sanding and stripping can be on furniture I wondered if sandblasting was an option. Now I know. Great job.

    GORGEOUS!! I can’t wait to try sand blasting (I’m actually doing soda blasting but same concept) on this piece I have with lots of detail. Love how easy spraying the stain was! I watched another TH-cam channel where the guy sprays his stain (something I’ve never seen before), but he doesn’t show the kind of stain he uses. He’s also in the UK and the cans/containers of products he uses I’ve never seen before. Good to know you used water based stain because it’s something I definitely want to try. Thx for the video and Happy New Year!!🎆

      How'd that soda blaster go? I'm looking into it myself for some intricate cabinet doors. How aggressive is it? Do you still get a fine finish or would I need to sand with a 180-220 after or something. Going with some stain and customers will want it perfect

    • @Flippingdrawers
      @Flippingdrawers  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, you can use diffrent blasting media like glass beads, walnut shells or sand, they are more or less agressive . Works great for me but it is messy. It is good enough to apply finish on it, just need to clean off the dust.

    What a way to treat an old lady! Just gorgeous! But I think you should get yourself a brand. Some thing that says maybe, “ refurbished and restored by flipping drawers”. Or refurbished and restore by your name” you do such a good job, a lot of your pieces are worthy of a very high-end gallery when you’re done. Having a brand will also help you get your name out and TH-cam channel out there. I really love your work.
