    My project is to strip a wood cathedral ceiling. I don't want the wood grain to be "opened", and was looking for the gentlest blasting media to use. I'd never considered soda blasting, and had no idea where to get the equipment. The information and sources that you've generously shared has moved my project forward several steps toward completion.

    For that piece of furniture how much soda blast did you use, I have a 18 CFM compressor 3 cylinder that I built years ago,runs at 150 pounds non stop, I never used soda blast before I have used Silca sand it’s real fine, I blast at 1-1 1/2 feet away, never hurt the wood, I made a blast tank out of a scuba tank, all aluminum tank works great, I just want to know how the soda blast works.

    Watching that soda blaster was super satisfying!!
    Is there any possibility of doing damage with it? Like if i had the pressure too high or something would it blow a hole through the wood??

    • @FurnitureWarriors
      @FurnitureWarriors  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It would be unlikely to happen with soda because it's fairly soft, but if you crank up the pressure and use a course grain soda, anything is possible! We were running about 45-50 psi at the blaster. Thanks!

    I recently bought a soda blaster and watched to see how well it worked for you. I was surprised to see your setup is exactly as mine. I was hopeful that my Wagner tent would be adequate to capture some of the media. Next time you should soda blast the hardware, it should clean up real brass pretty quickly.

    I love this dresser. Those colors together, oh be still my heart! I love that you are so willing to try a new to you technique on camera. So many are afraid of messing up, but seeing and learning from mistakes or gaining the knowledge from someone else is what I really love. I do have so many questions about the soda blasting. Did it save a lot of time? I know that the tent was a mess, but did it make a mess outside of the tent? If it did, was it horrible? I could see the awesome result it had on the dove tails. I spend so much time trying to get old paint out of dove tails! Thank you so much for all of your videos!!

    • @FurnitureWarriors

      @@FurnitureWarriors thank you for the information. I think I should invest in a soda blaster. I have a huge air compressor, so I might as well give it a go. Another question.
