You take an old piece from the garbage or from someone else you restore its life and you bring out the life it had before it and you make that life means something when you restore it. Because like people furniture also has life and is damaged by life and how it’s treated. Somehow I think there is a natural appreciation for all the work you do on the furniture, you pleat and repair and restore. Thank you very much for your videos, I only wish that I could on one of your pieces!

Whoa! First, I would be SO afraid to wash this old piece with water. I'm glad to know it can be done. Second...I'm SO glad you kept the original hardware. I've seen where you don't do that, so I'm glad you did. Thank you! Third..."seasonal movement of the wood..." Wow! I never thought about that! Fourth...Your "old school" method of "clamping" was brilliant! Wow! Leave it to our ancestors to know how to do things simply. Fifth...I LOVE how you cut out the old damaged part and replaced it with a new part. I would never think to do that. Sixth...it's so brilliant to use sawdust to blend with glue to fill in gaps. Seventh...when you made this video, you had 40K subscribers. Now you have 118k subscribers! Way to go!!! Ninth...You painted your original hardware. I don't have a problem with the original color. I think it adds an authentic "vibe" to the hardware. Last....I LOVE light wood. I love that you left it light, but at the same time, you added the black wax in the best places. The contrast with the light wood made it so much more interesting. The end result was BRILLIANT! I HOPE YOU DON'T HATE ALL MY COMMENTS. I CAN'T HELP MYSELF. I don't expect you to reply to all of them. Thank you.

THIS!!! Very talented Man is a class act. Just love watching him work on these beautiful.old pieces. He does not cut any corners, let things just be "ok" . He takes his work very seriously and has pride in himself and everything he touches. The tools??? Oh...absolutely beautiful tools make the work look effortless, but lets face it. He has all the skills! Awesome.

I got my sister one of these sideboards 35 years ago, and just lightened it a few shades. She still has it in her sitting room. I must say I prefer the darker finish, and I wouldn't have put that back piece back on, but your attention to detail is excellent. I too use your 'old school' method of clamping pieces if my clamps are not long enough. Your calm voice is a joy to listen to, and a pleasure to watch you work. Well done for saving perfectly usable furniture - you just can't buy 'proper' furniture these days. Take care 🙂

I just love how an old ugly piece of unhappy furniture can be given a new beautiful life to continue to be used again. Thank you for given this piece a new purpose.

I love that you sand the whole peice and wax the inside, back, and bottom. It makes everything feel complete.

What an amazing restoration. I love it. I don’t know if I have the patience to do this. But you certainly make it look so worth it. I wonder if you ever show the original owner the finished piece? This looks so good!

What an amazing transformation! We just picked up an old dresser that all of the glue joints are failing. We hope to have it look as good as yours!

I deeply appreciate your attention to detail and your practice of sanding everything. The old-time clamping system was an eye opener...a nice alternative to purchasing more clamps.
