    Hi Rod. You and Van must be so proud of those boys. They may fool around but I did not see their faces glued to cell phones 😎 You guys did a great job raising them.

    Whenever I had the chance to take leave. I would go back to the farm and help my Dad, Uncle, and Grandfather fill silos. I always planned during the harvest season. They were always happy to have a tractor/silage wagon operator. Plus the sound of that Detroit engine working hard on that 2 row self propelled Fox Chopper. Wow! those were the days.

    Getting some great shots of the equipment in action. I bet you got absolutely covered in dust after the shot of the combine unloading. As always thanks for sharing the videos with us all. I'm glad to see no major problems during harvest.

    As always your videos of the scenery is second to none. You live in a beautiful area. It didn't take long for the boys to get loading the grain cart down pat, they did a great job. Two boys to be proud of.

    great video, the drone footage was great, very interesting, liked it a lot, how long have you been flying the big ones, refueling must be nerve-wracking, and you got the right music for that harvest

    The joys and fears of turning your kids loose on equipment. The fear comes from knowing what can go wrong, and! Knowing what kind of stupid stuff we did at their age! But the proud usually outweighs the fears.

    • @ohioflyingfarmer7050

    Great video and music Rod. One question. I see you harvest straight with rows in soybeans. Others go diagonal. I’m sure it’s just a preference, but would like to know if there really is reason. Heck anyone can answer if they know. Just a small dairy farm guy from NY. Thanks

    • @ohioflyingfarmer7050
      @ohioflyingfarmer7050  ปีที่แล้ว

      The thought behind going diagonal is that the beans feed into the combine better, therefore you lose less beans.
      There may be something to that, I don't know. We don't notice a lot of beans left on the ground doing it the way we do it.

    Hope you don't crash your drone like a number of other YouTubing farmers including a certain time BJ earned a wager as I'd rather imagine that it would be embarrassing as a pilot. But excellent shots and brilliant video as usual.
