    If you are doing this removal according to his video .. BEWARE he removes 2 nuts from the lower part of the intake ... and then he tells you to sharply snap the intake down ? and wiggle it forcefully till it comes out. DO NOT do THIS. he failed to show you the "other" 2 T30 bolts holding the lower part of the intake on. As with most of his videos that does not actually show you all the part he is talking about and you see him "forcefully" removing if you follow this video you can damage your PLASTIC intake be trying to snap it without removing all the bolts. There is a lesson to be learned here kids do not follow how to videos from flat rate mechanics they will tell you the quick way to do things not actually the BEST way to do things because they are all about how fast they can do the repair not how well it can be done or without broken parts because he is not working on his car if he breaks something oh well you will simply have to pay more money.

    Also wondering how you feel about replacing the nylon seals on the injectors. Some say absolutely essential but so far reusing the old ones seems okay for me.

I sthere any performance difference or is that one modified with a 5th injector. I heard that was for e 85 fuel and that some b8's actual have additional port injection (in europe) Is there any advantage to upgrading to the aluminum? I know this is 7 months too late but this happened to me too. I believe the tensioner is shot and the chain is probably stretched too. This along with worn chain guides allows the chain to jump under hand cycling the crank. Audi's ain't no Mercedes I can tell you that. Audi engine guys should have had lunch with some Merc engine guys and learn how to make a tensioner.

    Can you do it this quick on a transversely mounted engine? What about the turbo? Most of the how-to's show the turbo coming out from the bottom(transverse engine).

    • @NaptownTuner
      @NaptownTuner  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      transverse intake is maybe a little more complicated and yes turbo comes out of the bottom on those. I don’t look for those cars mostly because they don’t have as widespread oil consumption issues but also I like real awd to I mostly do longitudinal. It’s fast and easy to put the transverse engines on a table from the bottom with a lift, I just don’t like them as much.. they are also more of a pain to do most things to with the engine in the car in my opinion. Maybe it’s because I don’t work on them as much. Eventually I’ll work on more and different things but need to cover all the bases on what I have first. I’m close to the end of riding the wave with these things that’s why I decided to show everybody how to work on them

    • @David8k8
      @David8k8 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NaptownTuner I feel like I occasionally hear of people complaining about expensive bills when it comes to the water pump and intake manifold at shops on the transverse engines, so it would make sense that it is a little more complicated. I was just thinking dang, you can do it in 10 minutes, and people are getting charged close to $1k at shops.
      It seems the orientation of the engine definitely makes it harder to get to certain things. I tried to swap the downpipe on my GTI, jacked up on the floor, and it was nearly impossible to do. I am not that technically savy though, lol. I ended up taking it to RS Performance here in Indy and they got it done without any issues, but it still took a few hours.
