- When you think of rarity, you usually don’t think of video games. However, some video games extremely difficult to find, particularly if they were made in an age where the only source available is a physical copy. In fact, at least two of the games on this list are so rare that there is only believed to be ONE COPY in existence.
Check out the video for a look at the seven rarest video games of all time - as well as the most valuable rare video game ever sold. - บันเทิง
There's also Chase HQ II on the GX4000, only two known copies went out to retail.
Now I have to find this game!!! Thanks for the comment
LARRY, THIS IS A CHANNEL WITH LESS THAN 600 SUBS AND A VIDEO WITH 2.6K VIEWS, HOW ARE YOU HERE?
Not sure of the answer either, but I will HAPPILY take it!!
@@AlmostSomething It isn't even the first time I've asked him that question under similar circumstances.
Super cool of larry to show up
I enjoy Tucker Carlson's appreciation for rare video games
That was NOT on the list of comments I thought I’d get!
Now that I've read that comment I can't unhear it. Spot on observation
@@AlmostSomething🤣
Thoroughly enjoyed the video, subscribed!
Awesome! Thanks so much!
I appreciate your delivery; too many gaming youtubers have an extremely unnatural cadence.
Thanks man! Just trying to sound like a human LOL

Scott the Woz: _There is that one game for the PS4 that I refuse to say because I'll (bleep) die laughing_
Great video!
I got suggested this out of nowhere on my homepage, had no idea you were such a small channel until the end of the video. Looks good, comment for the algorithm.
Replying for the algorithm :) Thanks so much and glad you enjoyed!!
@@AlmostSomething Yes i was truly shocked i hadn't seen this channel before, and as we speak is under 1k subs. I am officially subscriber 600. I'm doing my part o7
The rarest game I own (with concrete sales data at least) is Robotrek for the SNES, known in Japan as Slapstick. In North America, the game sold 20,000 copies, while its Japanese counterpart sold 45,000. I paid $90 Canadian for a loose copy back in 2020, but it’s now being listed for over double that.
You're gonna go far. Great video
Aww. Sincerely appreciated. Thank you!!
@@AlmostSomething of course
@@AlmostSomethingWhat he said. You're pretty good, just got to find your niche. Lots of similar channels out there, gotta make yours stand out.
Honestly, I wish we could go back to games being expensive and needing to go to the store and it being easy to make and release a game system. Now, games are so realistic that you can easily frame someone for murder from game footage.
The Nintendo Campus Challenge, you talked about the 1992 SNES Campus Challenge but showed off the 1991 NES Campus Challenge cart...good grief. And I should know cause I am the 1991 Nintendo Campus Challenge champ.
Great video :)
Thank you very much, Philip!!
Nice video! :)
Thanks so much!!
I didn’t expect a game that uses those overused polygon unity models to be featured in this video also cool video
Wild right? And thank you!
I remember the commercials for that exercise bike. I thought it was cool back in the day
$2 million? WATA scam!
😬
I'm kinda surprised the Mother 1 English NES carts weren't mentioned on this list. I believe somewhere between two to four prototype carts have been found, containing the fully translated game which was going to be released until Nintendo of America axed the project close to the last minute.
I didn’t see that story! This video seems to be doing well - I may do a part two for NES and will check that out. Thanks so much!
Great video, all produced software not prototypes, that list would be a lot longer!
@@AlmostSomethingRoo from the old days of TH-cam used to host a show called “16-bit Gems 💎 “ that covered the history of Earthbound in the US & the history of the NES Prototype (which at the time of the video Roo shows off his personal copy of from his collection and tells the story of how he got it).
I’m surprised Pepsi invaders and Flintstones: surprise at dinosaur peak didn’t make the list😯.
ha! Did not hear of these games but now have to look!
AFAIK the guy who bought Mario for 2 million was scammed. An auction house and a game rating company were working together to hyper inflate otherwise worthless games. That Mario game sold in the millions so anyone willing to pay a 7 figure sum for a copy deserves to be scammed like that.
LOL. gotta look for that story!
why waste 7 figures on a videogame when you can play it on a browser for free?
i had a dream where my world class track meet turned into stadium events in my hand but i had to try to hide it from a wizard for some reason and then i woke up happy to live in a world with no wizardry but sad that my world class track meet was world class track meet
LOL. Hey man, if it was Stadium Events, you'd be a lot richer!!
commenting on the intro, toys r us was never here where I am in the U.S.
in fact theres not even a walmart in my town
Whoops. My bad :)
@@AlmostSomething lol
just unlucky with life XD
I didn't expect a comment, but thanks for noticing and I appreciate the video.
Back in my day toys R us did not exist for games
Tragic! :)
Toys Я Us didn't exist where I lived when 8 was really young. They came when I was like 11 I think. Before that we had Lionel Play World
It did for me....I'm 42 and in England. 90's were happy times 😂
It existed for me but I am fairly confident I never found a single game for my Atari 800XL there. That was purely the domain of "maybe two games at Waldenbooks, maybe three games at Target, possibly a game at the computer store, the rest mail order" haha.
No mention of Socks The Cat Rocks The Hill?
Never heard of it! But now must dig.
Got a subscription from me
Awesome! Thanks and enjoy!
@@AlmostSomething I did enjoy your video, just replying to help you out with the algorithm
And it is appreciated!!
now i buy games for gameboy but there is no digital copy so i have to go to a comicon and pray my dad for Pokemon games
Find the right game, strike it rich!
If these games are that rare, there's a reason for that. And if you can't deduce what that is, I'll tell you: they aren't any good.
Have you ever heard of, MACS Multi-purpose Arcade Combat Simulator M.A.C.S Basic Rifle Marksmanship SNES?
It sounds fimiliar - and now I have to research it!
@@AlmostSomething I used it for marksmanship training, while stationed in Germany. Can't say it's better than the training aid I used in Basic, but I think it was more cost effective.
Wow! That's...actually really cool. Had no idea NES had capabilities like that.
@@AlmostSomething it used a modified rife as a light gun.
Love the video, style, editing, and bitching about being nearly 40 😂
The end though, with the SMB game being the most expensive sale ever, while true, is unfortunately a money laundering scheme between a few bad actors who were trying to artificially pump up the WATA cart grading system. I guess the "SMB hanging tab sale" still counts, but it was not in good faith, didn't truly change hands, and is currently under investigation, it should be known.
Pat The NES Punk has a breakdown video on it if you want more info.
So I found that one out AFTER this video - you are correct of course. Wish I'd seen that! Amd thank you for the kind words!! Glad yu liked it.
Where is Sonic 2 with a line?
Hi! The what now?
@@AlmostSomething It was a Scott the Woz reference.
I got to the semi finals at the Nintendo world championship at worchester ma
nice!!
Ummm...rare games are still being created today. All they are is games with a limited print run. For those of us who refuse to be a participant in the destruction of the industry, physical games are still a viable resource.
If a game has only one copy then it's NOT A COPY.
Unless you mean there are two instances and only one is a copy, in which case carry on.
If something isn't the original, it's a copy. It doesn't matter if it's the only one left.
