Mario doesn't die (or even "die") in Donkey Kong Jr., though he is defeated. In the arcade version of the game, after Mario and Kong fall, you see Junior hop off screen to the right carrying his father. Mario takes off in pursuit. Mario is then kicked back onto the screen by Donkey Kong, and flees off the left side of the screen. This is omitted in the NES version, probably for memory reasons- but even there it should be noted that the oval over Mario's head when he falls is the cartoon "seeing stars" trope.
I remember the Minnesota lottery giving my dad a tester for banking. He have me a box and said its some game for Nintendo. I wasnt a great reader yet so i spent a whole day trying to play the game onbit till dad got home from work and finally saw it on the tv and said oh sorry son its not a game its for banking. I remember him taking me to buy a game cuz i was so upset. Sure enough it introduced me to kid icarus...and yes dad eventually got a call saying it had to be returned
" @Retroman8000 "I remember the Minnesota lottery giving my dad a tester for banking. He gave me a box and said its some game for Nintendo." Bro, your dad was pretty dumb. There's no way they didn't clearly tell him what they were giving him, wtf
I just finished watching your Contra episode and was browsing your latest video list and realized I had watched many of them and wasn't subscribed! I remedied that. I'm pretty picky in what channels I subscribe to. You talk quickly, but are easily understood. You're funny, but don't stray from the point much. I like how your videos aren't too long, but still give good info on adjacent subjects/products. I dig it. You deserve more subscribers.
While yes you can not hurt the Duck Hunt Dog on the console you can in the VS. version. He don't "pass away" in it, but he is animated to be injured in a Cartoonish manor. The VS. System is just a NES for arcade use with harder versions of said NES/Famicom titles. The auction for the Super Mario Brothers game should have a gigantic asterisk by that fact those involved in the grading & selling (WATA Grading and Heritage Auctions) have a past involving fraud with other collector markets/auctions. In fact there are legal actions that are taking place as I type this that may prove that these auctions are fake, and/or a scam. Fact 30 is wrong in multiple ways one Nintendo did not innovate the multi ending that would be KOEI & ENIX, and it was for computers in 1983. However the same two games were ported to the Famicom those two are "Nobunaga's Ambition" (march of 83), and "The Portopia Serial Murder Case" (June of 1983). Also note "The Portopia Serial Murder Case" was ported to the Famicom in 1985 one year before Metroid in Japan so it also gets the First for Nintendo. Metroid was the first Nintendo made as well as the first for the North American NES market.
The games may have not used players' names, but it was Mattel's Intellivision that had their Hockey, Baseball, and Football, games endorsed by their respective leagues.
I am sure we are all aware of the famous password for Metroid "Justin Bailey" with the second row being nothing but dashes. By defeating the game with this password, Samus is revealed wearing a bikini. Well, the password has meaning behind it. "Justin" means "Just" "In" and "Bailey" is a style of Australian bikinis. This breaks down to "Just in her bikini."

Just stumbled across your channel. I'm enjoying what I've seen so far. Keep up the great work! Also, what song are you playing in the background?
Thank you! I think it's just a TH-cam library one...had some complaints so bailed on them in future videos.
5:52 this game was awesome, along with Mario Fundamentals
Your content deserves 100,000 views!!!
Thanks man!! Appreciate it.
Someone made a hack of donkey kong called Pink Floyd, The Wall, and well, you just have to see it for yourself.

wouldn't the first powerup be the hammer from Donkey Kong
"no use of ethnic stereotypes"... Annnnnd they made Punch Out lol!
A lotta good facts that I legit didn't know!
But I gotta say, the background music is waaay too loud (and also crappy, imo)
Agreed. Future videos have no music
