some of these early 05,06, Had deflective fuel pumps . Bought 06 gt brand new with less then 3k on my gt starting going out . In 08 ford replaced common problem . Now have 70k on it , you guys did full bolt on and novi 2200 490 at wheels with 410;s 3500 stall and 91 octane . 15 years later no problems knock on wood . But thank you for the tip I will be checking do to age. . long story shot if i had to do it again i would go with the Edelbrock . I love how much more TQ at low rpm. And much more accessible in the engine bay , It Was a nightmare changing the belt on the novi 2200 . And you guys are over 600 mile away lol .
I know someone who supercharged one of these with that motor, (stock) this dude made 630rwhp and he told me 620rwtq or something. I’m not sure if he was joking, but his car lasted like 2 months driving it like crazy, tells you how strong these motors are stock
Awesome ride and thanks for the info Brent! Gonna take my 3v out right now and go do a couple of pulls and some data logging. If I need a fuel pump...that will be a good excuse to get back out to Indiana and see u guys!🙂 . Thanks for always putting out great content and building sick rides! Including mine. I love it!!!! 🍻
Hey Bren, I Boss 302 swapped my 2014 V6. I put a new front body harness, the ecm, sjb, and fuel pump and relay in the car. The car starts, but after 2 seconds the wrench pops up and the engine chokes down to idle really fast. After that, I basically can’t rev it past 3k rpm or it’ll start sounding like it’s starving for fuel. It makes like a blat blat blat sound. Idles perfectly fine. Do you have any guess on what may be going on? Or what I can do to make my car just work easier? I still want my car to run like a stock Boss with ABS, PS, and radio/ac.
@BrenspeedEngineering OK. Thank you, sir. I am just putting together my list of mods I will need/can afford for my project. Your videos have helped a lot!🙏🏾🙌🏾🫡
I have a 2008 mustang gt edelbrock supercharged as well with 94k miles and I got codes for running too lean in bank 1 and bank 2, my car was idling fine until I went and drove it after I I changed sensors and checked fuel filter, and hoses for any cracks, I get back home and it throws the codes again and started running like absolute $h!t would barley even stay alive and didn’t want to barley respond to throttle, I’m thinking it’s my fuel pump I’m just gonna upgrade it to this one anyway thank you for the video hopefully this works
@@BrenspeedEngineering hey Brenspeed if you do get a chance to reply to this I put the new pump in my mustang and it didn’t do anything by itself but I did change the MAF sensor and now seems to be running better and no check engine lights coming back on but now the car is shutting off shortly after start and idle as if it’s not getting proper fuel pressure wondering if the boost a pump that’s hooked up could be interfering with the upgraded pump is that possible?
No likely or you would have that on all cylinders. P0303 is a cylinder mis fire. Step 1 change all 8 spark plugs. Still got code switch coil pack from cylinder 3 to 4 and see if code switches to PO304 then you know its the coil pack as the code moved with the coil that you moved. Those are first 2 steps.
Hi sir mine show at sct x4 .23 at idle mustang gt 2006 fbo is that weak fuel pump ? How much psi should be fuel pump pressure at gauge when idle ? Thank you for all information
Stock fuel pump only that would appear around normal if it is .23, if you have .23 with stock fuel pump and a fuel pump voltage booster then it would be a weak pump. You are looking for below .2 with a stock pump AND booster, not just a stock pump alone which would be around .23
Hey Brent, i actually live in central indiana, i drive an 09 GT with BBK LTH and off road X pipe with a muffler delete. i understand it’s a ridiculously aggressive exhaust setup but from around 3,000 to 3,500 rpms i get a terrible raspy exhaust note change. what kind of addition or change would you guys recommend to help with that without changing too much of the volume?
Well thats 100% what those cars do with your set up. Have a local muffler shop weld in some resonators to your over axle pipes that will reduce it a lot yet still have a nice sound. Thats step one. Still dont like it. Add mufflers
@@BrenspeedEngineering thanks man. any recommendations on a set of resonators? i would prefer to keep some of the sharp tone it gives now, just want to mellow it out a bit….
I have the catted x pipe and still get that nasty rasp at 3-3500 with resonators. Getting a custom h pipe made next week been battling that sound for years 😡
@@cadensunsdahl4837 I've tried many different mufflers mid mufflers etc only thing that got rid of it was magnaflow magnapaks but they also killed my cam lope so I couldn't keep them
Hey Brent. Have a 2007 Saleen supercharged . Took your advice and used my x4 to datlog my fuel pump duty cycle at idle. It sits at .22 at idle. Is that dangerous if I was to drive her hard? Will she lean out at 6500rpm?
If you have a stock Saleen with the stock pulley that would be normal as it does not have a fuel pump upgrade. A stock pump will be around that with no boost a pump. You are looking for below .2 if you have a fuel pump upgrade or boost a pump. If you have an upgraded pulley and tune add a boost a pump.
One more question Brent. I think I am OK fuel wise but if I was to add a boost a pump for peace of mind safety do I need to change the tune at all or will it automatically do its thing? Saleen, 39lb inj, jlt cold air and 3.6 pulley. Came with 2 tunes jdm and your tune. Thx in advance. Should be safe but thinking about a bap
I was never really a fan of those. Back in the day I felt like they straight tried to copy Hellion with Chinese parts. I could be wrong but I dont use them.

I have the same setup except I have the GT500 fuel pump. Should the trims still be the same? Running your email tune.
I believe 500 pumps will have below .2 duty cycle at idle.
I had a Whipple Kit put on my stock 2005 GT and they recommend the same thing (Whipple) so I've had no fuel pump issues at all.
Awesome setup. Thanks for sharing
No problem 👍

No way to tell with that description. Does sound like fuel, and limp mode, but who knows it could be 100 things.
Another great video. I actually look forward to Wednesday now😂😂😂.
Question 🤔?.. Will the short headers also fit on my 07 ford explorer sport trac v8?
No they will not because of the steering shaft issue. There are none made to fit. It is crazy tight and you need crazy bends to get them in.

Have you ever dynoed a car with Howard's rattler cams in it? It seems that is becoming a popular choice because of the price
No sorry I have not
@@BrenspeedEngineering Any chance of you doing it in the future?
I think those Howard cams and hotrod racing cams are just for sound, not actual performance mod
@@LordCornholio31 you change the sound your definitely changing the performance one way or another
What's the idle set on that 3v, it chops really nice🔥
That was one set at around 850.
Those Detroit rockers ❤

During a WOT pull is any drop below 38-39 an issue? Say a drop for 1/2 second or less then is it back above 38.
Typically no that is not an issue.

I seen a video where a guy had a nice gt and got that on package and blew the turbo, I think he got rid of the car after that
