Cool video. Honestly besides the feats I feel like the reason Solid Snake always comes out on top is because he simply wants to win more than his opponent. He just has more willpower. I mean the dude managed to more or less kill the greatest living soldier ever without a gun.

This for some reason reminds me in a way of how we use to look at power levels in dbz back in the day although those characters are leaps and bounds more powerful than anyone in the MG series. Cool to see these different rankings as it gives things more context in the MG universe. Good video!

I agree with most of these but I continue to be reminded of the fact of big boss in pw stopping and even lifting the cocoon boss ai and it was beyond any natural abilities and is on par with Raiden throwing multiple metal gears
Superman and Batman have both kicked down doors, that doesn't mean they're just as strong as the other. Everyone above Big Boss in the video would be stronger than him despite his being able to lift Cacoon.

Everyone keeps saying shit about Raiden doing crazy bs in Revengance, but fail to realize it is purposefully made to be a different genre of game than the mainline series. Yes Raiden is cool and powerful, however we consistently see the Snakes preform much more impressive feats albeit without as much hype due to mainline being a relatively more grounded experience than the action game which is Revengance. If Snake was in an action game I’m sure he’d do the same type of shit as Raiden, you don’t see Snake doing hype action shit because thematically it doesn’t fit, it’s as simple and meta as that.

I mean against every foe that Snake faced, it was questionable if he could beat them; and he always did. All the bosses have weird powers and superhuman abilities and Snake just solos.
Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't aren't power suits by MGR's time meant to be superior then from snakes era. When talking about Sam's exploits in a codec call, Kevin says that he took down a bunch of guys with just his sword and the conversation implied it was just his sword. (For the life of me I can't remeber where I heard this but wasn't it stated that he only started using a power suit to even the playing field once usage of cyborgs became more mainstream? Wouldn't his suit be cutting edge for the time if it could match all the insanity that is MGR's campaign)

Solid Snake is the greatest soldier who has ever lived. Even Big Boss said Snake has surpassed both him and the Boss. Take into account that Solid Snake has been fighting forever, while the rest of the characters only fight in specific wars or conflicts.

This was great but I feel you should go more logically than using statements never meant for powerscaling as concrete. Considering I doubt Snake is throwing a metal gear in any rendition, and Raiden only gets stronger after that
Calculations prove that Raiden throwing Ray and suplexing Excelsus are less impressive than Big Boss lifting Cocoon. The best lifting feat in the series is Raiden stopping Outer Haven which Snake scales to for physically overpowering Vamp who was shown to be stronger than Raiden. Raiden gets more powerful in MGR and believes Snake is stronger than anyone he's fought, pretty blatant.
I always figured Grey Fox during MG1 is slightly below Older Venom Snake, since he was captured and couldn’t finish the mission. I suppose it’s always possible that the real Big Boss did give Venom a heads up
Just NO with Old Snake vs MGRR Raiden. Old Snake is being supplemented with a lot of drugs and a Muscle suit. Maybe MGS 2 Snake with a muscle suit can contend against Cyborgs like how Sam can fight equally against Raiden having only a muscle suit and a cybernetic arm but Old Snake is David's weakest state. His missions happen months and days after the other because of how much maintenance Snake has to do with his dying body. He is also not mentally well adjusted which is his greatest weapon against anyone.
Despite being older he was still able to overpower MGS4 Vamp who scales far beyond everyone Snake and Raiden fought prior in MGS1 or 2; his feats are just better in 4. Snake in MGS1 beat cyborgs and in 4 he bullies characters that can gnoogie cyborgs. None of the missions in MGS4 have gaps between them, you just made that up. People in MGS4 also call him sharp as ever, and he solos enemies who have prepped against him and are using techniques and weapons combined from the bosses of the prior entries. Canon > headcanon.
@@CRISIS_COMICS He wasn't able to overpower vamp or Raiden. Vamp is either knocked out or being sneaked on by Snake. Snake is even struggling against the mini hand gekkos. Raiden is someone who can stop a whole naval ship with his own strength. Are you saying Snake can do that? Then why catapult himself and sneak in the Haven when he can just turn the ship upside down. Snake is seen being given oxygen respiration inbetween chapters and he only has a year at best while his cancer grows. He's also not "as sharp". His psyche drains every time he hears the word "old" or when his back hurts. He also forgets things(like the password if you didn't put the correct one) and even Sunny explains things to him for someone who has an IQ of 180. MGS 4 is supposed to humanize him not scale him with whatever BS power scaling. The only thing stronger with Snake in MGS 4 is his nicotine intake and his will power. But he is mentally and physically weaker than he usually is that the muscle suit does most of the physical labour to compensate for his lost strength.
@@Deuces10 Again, Snake needs to "kill" him first before you can choke him out especially in higher difficulties where sneaking is impossible against Vamp. While still recovering, Snake has to quickly inject him the nanomachines suppressor. By then it's Raiden finishing Snake's work. Snake is still an effective assassin despite his weakened old self. He's still Solid Snake as old Snake but in a hand to hand combat he can't chase Vamp who can jump 1 to 2 storeys high.

I did not ignore that. The same way I didn’t ignore that after Raiden halts Haven with one arm (a better lifting feat than anything in Rising) Snake overpowers the same Vamp that could overpower that same Raiden but with all of his limbs. Proving that Snake can beat people stronger than Raiden’s best display of lifting strength.

Raiden gets stronger with his upgraded bodies puls Blade and Ripper Mode, but Snake is still stronger due to the fact that Raiden stated he would defeat Sam who scales to full power Raiden and Senator Armstrong.

Why didn't Big Boss lift the Shagohad or Raxa like he did Cocoon, Peace Walker, and Zeke? Or why didn't Cyborg Raiden just overpower and kill Jetstream in their first fight since Sam's just a human?
Willpower.. the absolute will to live and to complete the mission and the genius mind is second to none. Old Solid Snake is the greatest soldier in the whole Metal Gear Universe, because of the genius and willpower.
Tbf on Venom, the fact that he was just some combat medic at first and actually beat a Metal Gear is nothing short of impressive, aswell as successfully facing the Skulls multiple times
I would like to mention raidens upgrade was unneeded. He could have beaten them all if he came to the conclusion he did half way though the game. Mgs has a funky way of making people stronger the more will power they have.
I think some of these placements are a little iffy, like with Ocelot you left out his time in GRU, his parents, the fact that he _picked up CQC by watching Snake do it,_ and that by 4 he had Solid beat in CQC on the Volta. That, and the idea that being able to win a fight or shoot more FROGS than Raiden could kill does not mean more power. There’s strategy, situation, motivation, mental state… you know, PLOT that makes the fight more interesting than x is stronger than y.
I have other videos that go into more detail about Ocelot. As for MGS4, Old Snake improves throughout the game to the point that while fatigued and without his sneaking suit he managed to beat the same Ocelot that dominated him before. Guides even state that Liquid was hoping to test himself against Snake by the end, so he knew the Volta fight wasn’t definitive. The Haven Troopers would have better training than MGS2 Raiden, better exosuits amping their strength and speed, and their potentials unlocked on top of that. None of the placements are iffy!
I'm pretty sure both the suit of Solidus and Solid Snake in MGS4 aren't better than the shit in rising, but they would definitely hold the test of time. They're not the NANOMACHINES SON, so it would make sense that Liquid Ocelot would be able, with his strength and ability, to land a good stab through it.

No metal gear is continental. Nuke scaling doesn't make any sense as Raiden is shown to be FAR below a nuke in destructive output, but still capable of besting supposedly nuke proof MGs.
@@priestofronaldalt destructive capacity doesn't always equal striking strength. Cell stated he can destroy the solar system but was only shown destroying islands and King Kai's tiny planet. Raiden is leagues above Gray Fox who can tank the destruction of a Metal Gear that fodderizes Metal Gear's that can take nuclear bombs with no damage. Also Monsoon was calced to be able to throw vehicles with more kinetic energy than the Tsar Bomba which Raiden can tank and slice through.

Didn't the O. G. Big Boss aka John best David at the end MGS 4? Granted David was weaker due to his age acceleration, and he wasn't wearing his muscle suit. A 70 plus year old Big Boss still bested him in that cemetery 🪦🪦🪦🪦🪦 that day. But John's body isn't his own , they had to reconstitute and reconstruct him with parts from Liquid and Solidus, with nano machine augmentation. Therefore, it probably gave the the elder O. G. Boss an edge over Old Snake that day. . Love that scene in MGS 4.. "This is good , isn't it ?"
Like u mentioned Snake didn’t have his tech, he also didn’t want to kill Big Boss as shown by his putting his gun down in hesitation. Liquid and Solidus were stronger than Big Boss so him getting their body parts would only make him stronger compared to Snake who just went through hell, had none of his equipment, and didn’t want to kill. Snake essentially shit in Big Boss twice in the franchise.
Solid Snake vs Raiden would be interesting. If Raiden got too close, he would either cut him with his blade mode, or just obliterate him with his cybernetic strength. But since Snake is just more strategic and skilled, and has God on his side, idk if Raiden could win.
Snake can't be cut since his OctoCamo was made to resist High Frequency Blades nor will he be obliterated since Raiden stated Snake is either stronger than or comparable to himself.

Ive only played mgrr and mgs2 ( a long time ago )so take what i say with a grain of salt, but the arguments used for liquids knife could also be made for raiden post murasama no? Armstrong is able to catch and destroy The hf blade but cant do the same to murasama, while murasama is clearly able to harm and damage armstrong which raidens ordinary hf blade cannot. Also i feel like this ignores one large chunk of a fight, sure solid might be stronger, more skilled and smarter but isnt raiden just much, much faster? Sure snakes snakes statement's could mean hes outright winning the fight, but isnt solid snake a stealth operative? Sure so was raiden but hes clearly not anymore so wouldnt that statement only apply to that? Also the whole decapitations thing, if he only wears a mask wouldnt that leave his kneck exposed and thus prone to decapitation? Also mgrr raiden is far stronger then mgs4 raiden, as prior to his new body he was inable to even get close to beating sam, while post it hes able to honestly thrash him, so all of snake>raiden feats as of mgs4 are simply outdated. In terms of sheer speed,strength and durability raiden has shown much greater feats as of mgrr, while all of solids statements can be boiled down to being outdated, atleast as of rising, raidens statement of saying " but its not only that... Hes knows whats right, and he just gets it done. Period. No one can stop him" is again a tad to ambiguous, as this can quite easily mean he completes missions regardless and noone can stop him, not that hed outright be able to defeat anyone in a fight. Anyway im probably completely wrong and this is most likely a horrible take.

Raiden halting Haven is a better feat than tossing Ray or Excelsus and Snake scales to that per physically overpowering Vamp.

This for some reason reminds me in a way of how we use to look at power levels in dbz back in the day although those characters are leaps and bounds more powerful than anyone in the MG series. Cool to see these different rankings as it gives things more context in the MG universe. Good video!

I agree with most of these but I continue to be reminded of the fact of big boss in pw stopping and even lifting the cocoon boss ai and it was beyond any natural abilities and is on par with Raiden throwing multiple metal gears
Superman and Batman have both kicked down doors, that doesn't mean they're just as strong as the other. Everyone above Big Boss in the video would be stronger than him despite his being able to lift Cacoon.

Everyone keeps saying shit about Raiden doing crazy bs in Revengance, but fail to realize it is purposefully made to be a different genre of game than the mainline series.
Yes Raiden is cool and powerful, however we consistently see the Snakes preform much more impressive feats albeit without as much hype due to mainline being a relatively more grounded experience than the action game which is Revengance. If Snake was in an action game I’m sure he’d do the same type of shit as Raiden, you don’t see Snake doing hype action shit because thematically it doesn’t fit, it’s as simple and meta as that.

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't aren't power suits by MGR's time meant to be superior then from snakes era. When talking about Sam's exploits in a codec call, Kevin says that he took down a bunch of guys with just his sword and the conversation implied it was just his sword. (For the life of me I can't remeber where I heard this but wasn't it stated that he only started using a power suit to even the playing field once usage of cyborgs became more mainstream? Wouldn't his suit be cutting edge for the time if it could match all the insanity that is MGR's campaign)

Solid Snake is the greatest soldier who has ever lived. Even Big Boss said Snake has surpassed both him and the Boss. Take into account that Solid Snake has been fighting forever, while the rest of the characters only fight in specific wars or conflicts.

Calculations prove that Raiden throwing Ray and suplexing Excelsus are less impressive than Big Boss lifting Cocoon.
The best lifting feat in the series is Raiden stopping Outer Haven which Snake scales to for physically overpowering Vamp who was shown to be stronger than Raiden.
Raiden gets more powerful in MGR and believes Snake is stronger than anyone he's fought, pretty blatant.

Just NO with Old Snake vs MGRR Raiden. Old Snake is being supplemented with a lot of drugs and a Muscle suit. Maybe MGS 2 Snake with a muscle suit can contend against Cyborgs like how Sam can fight equally against Raiden having only a muscle suit and a cybernetic arm but Old Snake is David's weakest state. His missions happen months and days after the other because of how much maintenance Snake has to do with his dying body. He is also not mentally well adjusted which is his greatest weapon against anyone.
Despite being older he was still able to overpower MGS4 Vamp who scales far beyond everyone Snake and Raiden fought prior in MGS1 or 2; his feats are just better in 4. Snake in MGS1 beat cyborgs and in 4 he bullies characters that can gnoogie cyborgs. None of the missions in MGS4 have gaps between them, you just made that up. People in MGS4 also call him sharp as ever, and he solos enemies who have prepped against him and are using techniques and weapons combined from the bosses of the prior entries. Canon > headcanon.
@@CRISIS_COMICS He wasn't able to overpower vamp or Raiden. Vamp is either knocked out or being sneaked on by Snake. Snake is even struggling against the mini hand gekkos. Raiden is someone who can stop a whole naval ship with his own strength. Are you saying Snake can do that? Then why catapult himself and sneak in the Haven when he can just turn the ship upside down. Snake is seen being given oxygen respiration inbetween chapters and he only has a year at best while his cancer grows. He's also not "as sharp". His psyche drains every time he hears the word "old" or when his back hurts. He also forgets things(like the password if you didn't put the correct one) and even Sunny explains things to him for someone who has an IQ of 180. MGS 4 is supposed to humanize him not scale him with whatever BS power scaling. The only thing stronger with Snake in MGS 4 is his nicotine intake and his will power. But he is mentally and physically weaker than he usually is that the muscle suit does most of the physical labour to compensate for his lost strength.

While still recovering, Snake has to quickly inject him the nanomachines suppressor. By then it's Raiden finishing Snake's work. Snake is still an effective assassin despite his weakened old self. He's still Solid Snake as old Snake but in a hand to hand combat he can't chase Vamp who can jump 1 to 2 storeys high.

I did not ignore that. The same way I didn’t ignore that after Raiden halts Haven with one arm (a better lifting feat than anything in Rising) Snake overpowers the same Vamp that could overpower that same Raiden but with all of his limbs. Proving that Snake can beat people stronger than Raiden’s best display of lifting strength.

Raiden gets stronger with his upgraded bodies puls Blade and Ripper Mode, but Snake is still stronger due to the fact that Raiden stated he would defeat Sam who scales to full power Raiden and Senator Armstrong.

Willpower.. the absolute will to live and to complete the mission and the genius mind is second to none. Old Solid Snake is the greatest soldier in the whole Metal Gear Universe, because of the genius and willpower.
Tbf on Venom, the fact that he was just some combat medic at first and actually beat a Metal Gear is nothing short of impressive, aswell as successfully facing the Skulls multiple times

I think some of these placements are a little iffy, like with Ocelot you left out his time in GRU, his parents, the fact that he _picked up CQC by watching Snake do it,_ and that by 4 he had Solid beat in CQC on the Volta. That, and the idea that being able to win a fight or shoot more FROGS than Raiden could kill does not mean more power. There’s strategy, situation, motivation, mental state… you know, PLOT that makes the fight more interesting than x is stronger than y.
I have other videos that go into more detail about Ocelot. As for MGS4, Old Snake improves throughout the game to the point that while fatigued and without his sneaking suit he managed to beat the same Ocelot that dominated him before. Guides even state that Liquid was hoping to test himself against Snake by the end, so he knew the Volta fight wasn’t definitive. The Haven Troopers would have better training than MGS2 Raiden, better exosuits amping their strength and speed, and their potentials unlocked on top of that. None of the placements are iffy!
I'm pretty sure both the suit of Solidus and Solid Snake in MGS4 aren't better than the shit in rising, but they would definitely hold the test of time. They're not the NANOMACHINES SON, so it would make sense that Liquid Ocelot would be able, with his strength and ability, to land a good stab through it.

No metal gear is continental. Nuke scaling doesn't make any sense as Raiden is shown to be FAR below a nuke in destructive output, but still capable of besting supposedly nuke proof MGs.

Raiden is leagues above Gray Fox who can tank the destruction of a Metal Gear that fodderizes Metal Gear's that can take nuclear bombs with no damage. Also Monsoon was calced to be able to throw vehicles with more kinetic energy than the Tsar Bomba which Raiden can tank and slice through.
@@Deuces10 who calculated that cause that's crap. When you try and "calculate" the strength of fictional characters you often will have to apply real physics to moments where real physics don't really apply, leading to humorous results that go against everything else that character does.

Didn't the O. G. Big Boss aka John best David at the end MGS 4? Granted David was weaker due to his age acceleration, and he wasn't wearing his muscle suit. A 70 plus year old Big Boss still bested him in that cemetery 🪦🪦🪦🪦🪦 that day. But John's body isn't his own , they had to reconstitute and reconstruct him with parts from Liquid and Solidus, with nano machine augmentation. Therefore, it probably gave the the elder O. G. Boss an edge over Old Snake that day. .

Like u mentioned Snake didn’t have his tech, he also didn’t want to kill Big Boss as shown by his putting his gun down in hesitation. Liquid and Solidus were stronger than Big Boss so him getting their body parts would only make him stronger compared to Snake who just went through hell, had none of his equipment, and didn’t want to kill. Snake essentially shit in Big Boss twice in the franchise.
personally in terms of overal stats, skill and experience, big boss takes the cake, but physical strength goes to raiden for sure

Solid Snake vs Raiden would be interesting. If Raiden got too close, he would either cut him with his blade mode, or just obliterate him with his cybernetic strength.
But since Snake is just more strategic and skilled, and has God on his side, idk if Raiden could win.
Snake can't be cut since his OctoCamo was made to resist High Frequency Blades nor will he be obliterated since Raiden stated Snake is either stronger than or comparable to himself.

Ive only played mgrr and mgs2 ( a long time ago )so take what i say with a grain of salt, but the arguments used for liquids knife could also be made for raiden post murasama no? Armstrong is able to catch and destroy
The hf blade but cant do the same to murasama, while murasama is clearly able to harm and damage armstrong which raidens ordinary hf blade cannot. Also i feel like this ignores one large chunk of a fight, sure solid might be stronger, more skilled and smarter but isnt raiden just much, much faster? Sure snakes snakes statement's could mean hes outright winning the fight, but isnt solid snake a stealth operative? Sure so was raiden but hes clearly not anymore so wouldnt that statement only apply to that? Also the whole decapitations thing, if he only wears a mask wouldnt that leave his kneck exposed and thus prone to decapitation?
Also mgrr raiden is far stronger then mgs4 raiden, as prior to his new body he was inable to even get close to beating sam, while post it hes able to honestly thrash him, so all of snake>raiden feats as of mgs4 are simply outdated.
In terms of sheer speed,strength and durability raiden has shown much greater feats as of mgrr, while all of solids statements can be boiled down to being outdated, atleast as of rising, raidens statement of saying " but its not only that... Hes knows whats right, and he just gets it done. Period. No one can stop him" is again a tad to ambiguous, as this can quite easily mean he completes missions regardless and noone can stop him, not that hed outright be able to defeat anyone in a fight.
Anyway im probably completely wrong and this is most likely a horrible take.
