Absolutely brilliant. Your videos are incredible your editing and photography stunning. Absolutely loved sitting here in the freezing cold UK watching these videos. Africa my Africa. Xx
Another great video, Tim! That feeling of near anxiety, of being almost overwhelmed by isolation is, I believe, not uncommon among people who find themselves alone in the wildernis. I remember the first time I felt that: I was six and had walked into the veld about an hour from Jansenville where we lived at the time, I I vividly remember feeling that someone or something was watching me, and a general sense of unease that only went away when I saw the church spire again.
Huge respect to you. Your emotion flowed and we were swept along with it. I hope you always stay safe. Look forward to more. As for us, tomorrow we fly out to Johannesburg to begin our journey north to Pafuri to begin our 21 night stay in the Kruger. Greetings from the UK.
Nature doesn't stop, does it?. The more you pierce into it, the more it expands. It's a miracle. "Seven days in Kalahari" - a pilgrimage, almost became an inner journey! The site of that burnt car was like a rude awakening in surrounding nature - unprecedented. Thanks for another masterpiece!
What an intro Tim. This is camping solo at next level, bird animals' sightings epic. Bosobogolo camp 2 flippen epic thanks for sharing the journey Tim take care
Tim i say it too at Lost in Krüger..This is like National Geo wild Doku ..☝️👍👌..Awesome Job ..Thanks for Share with us and hopefully für the Next Episode 🎉💪🍀🙏
Aiming to be posting every second week going forward, recently invested heavily in a beast new mac, and now have a full time editor! So hopefully we start to post more reliably! And thank you!
Woww what an amazing video and coverage. Superb videography. Ur such a passionate person on what your doing. Solo adventure like this is too thrilling and your mind keeps thinking lot of things on what could be next..have a safe trip and enjoyyy
Great Video! It was a Toyota Prado that caught fire because of grass wrapped around the exhaust system. The damage caused to it was the grader that pushed it off the road.
Awesome episode again Tim. That Prado has been there for years and if memory serves me correctly, it was a grass fire, seed against the radiator/exhaust.
@@LostinAfrica But still, 100% a stark reminder of how quickly things can go wrong. A simple stop to check tyres could of been all that was needed for the fire to start. This is why it is so important to get under your vehicle and inspect for anything that isn't right while out there.
Good one Tim! Its fascinating how our brains become programmed so to speak. If you had another person next to you, your thoughts would not be nearly as focused on the possible dangers around you in such an environment, even though the risk is pretty much the same. Good on you for taking on these solo trips, I think I would probably last 2 or 3 nights before I went a bit bossies!
Awesome trip. Fantastic videography. Whatever using are as your external camera holder, I want it badly. I’m in a process of fabricating my own, that would save me a headache.
I went solo into the CKGR, 5 nights. 1 night in piperpan 1 (when there was nobody in piper 2), 1 night Lekhubu, knowing no humans in dozens of kilometers. But man, you take going solo to another level. Wow, respect! Awesome video's.
@@LostinAfrica with everything that you allready have accomplished and the hurdles you have mastered, you will succeed in that also. All the best and know if you feel lonely that there are so many people travelling with you and wishing you the best (and save travels).
Great video, thx for sharing. The saad part is, one can never get a booking. We watch many, many over landers, and many times they make the same comment, there is no one they passed, or signs of other people.
Thanks for all videos. Love them, I grew upp i Tanzania. Do you have a rescue bag that you just catch if something happens. Do you train for that situation eg fire?
Beautifully shot and edited, but just a reminder to everyone, you can not just turn up at a campsite and pitch camp there. Mabua has truly been discovered now and most folks are struggling to get the best camping sites 11 months in advance and even longer in the sites managed by inter-tourism. The last thing anybody wants having planned and prepared for a trip like this is the confrontation of finding somebody has pitched in your allocated campsite and then they have the gaul to say “ can I share”. Then they make you feel bad because they have to pack up and try and do it at another campsite. If you haven’t got a reservation you should not be in the park. You must go to the DWNP office at the entrance gate and they will allocate you with any spare sites that are available.
Thanks Steve. And while I do agree, and normally wouldn’t recommend it. The park was so empty, and I never set up camp till after the ‘gates’ closed. But yes i wouldn’t recommend it.
We’re looking into it, the margins on this type of overlanding are so so low though that it would have to either be very large tour groups (which I wouldn’t want), or exorbitant pricing (which no one would book). So i think most likely will be premium photographic tours to some iconic locations! Many things planned for 2024, so hopefully this materializes!
An ostrich group, called a herd, numbers about 12 individuals. Male ostriches compete for control of a group of several females. A herd has a dominant male and a dominant female.
Please guys just a reminder..you can not "choose" a campsite when arriving, a campsite is allocated to you and needed to stick to your reservation and NO arriving a day sooner as you need to go to the main gate where they can allocate you with payment to the correct campsite..too many to my shame south africans just ajust the rules in our neighbour countries.
Really enjoy these longer 45-60 min episodes vs. the older 20-30m ones!
Glad to hear! We’re testing these longer form videos, basically 1 hour tv slots, every second week, vs the shorter ones weekly!
Incredible video Tim, the best part of a solo trip is the freedom to be creative - without stressing that others are getting bored! 😂
Haha exactly! Why are you stopping agaaaaain to put a tripod down and film yourself driving away, only to have to come back to get the tripod! Haha!

Ah Mandy, I love comments like this, thank you! The power of transporting someone from across the world to this continent I love so much! 🥰

Good video bud thanks for coming to our country we welcome you
Thank you! One of my favorite countries on the planet!
Fire extinguishers are an absolute must and not packed away, mounted at a door or easy to grab spot. Safe travels everyone!
Really enjoying this series from the Kgalagadi! Keep up the amazing work and thanks for sharing your story!
Awesome episode Tim. Please keep the episodes coming we really enjoy your trips.
Pushing extremely hard to keep them coming every second week at least! There will probably be 4/5 from this trip! And thank you!
I like the cinematography 👌

Thanks brother! More to come in two weeks!
Love your choice of music with this one!! Keep it up.. It's very funky and awesome to see you going solo so well
Thank you, have another employee helping with the edits now, even though the channel makes about $100 a month haha! His music design is beautiful!
Such a good episode! Thanks Tim. Really cool to see more of the Kgalagadi.
Glad you enjoyed it Asher! 😊
the amount of effort and energy needed to get those vehicle passing by shots, astounds me !!! amazing job Tim
Thank you brother! Its a labour of love!
Amazing experience, it certainly looks like there's a lot less animals than when we were there 10 years ago.
Were you in the Kaa area?
What an episode. Great work!

Oh interesting! Thanks for letting us know!

Yeah I don’t understand it to he honest, it’s one of the hardest parks to get a booking for!

It depends where you want to be. The Kaa area almost always has space, Mabua is so so. Rooipunts & Polentswa are impossible.
Thanks for all videos. Love them, I grew upp i Tanzania. Do you have a rescue bag that you just catch if something happens. Do you train for that situation eg fire?
Hi Paul, thank you! I don’t have a rescue bag, but fire extinguishers and first aid kit are always very easily accessible!

Totally agree, but this was 18 months ago post covid and no one was in the park.
Man trip looks amazing, how was this one as a solo trip and would you recommend doing this one solo ?
Honestly probably not, you’ll see why in the rest of the series. As amazing an experience as it was, it’s just too risky in Mabua.
You should consider coming to Swaziland 🇸🇿 hey
Ah i love swaziland, have been many times! But we should do a series there for sure!!
