Its like those Nokia 3310, durable AF. Some people even said its easy to repair and parts easily available from third party or source company, but I dont know that its true or not cause I have no knowledge in mechanical vehicle.
Also let's not forget it depends on the person who owns it, oh wait secondhand cars which are overused are sold and still used as military vehicles where they put machine guns on it. And its mostly Toyota's pick-up 🛻

However these trucks had better maneuverability and driver farther in worse terrain the Libyan tanks & APCs. SubhanAllah! So beautiful! Thank you for taking me along! When my daughter was in Cairo for her 3rd year of college, we took a holiday foray to the Siwa Oasis. I was completely awestruck at our encounter with the Sahara; i will never forget it. Apart from the feeling of being lost in the midst of the great ocean of sand, there was the absence of sound, except for the whisper of the wind over the dunes. Our guides/hosts spread a great wool rug and prepared sweet, hot mint tea as we sat watching & wondering how they'd manage to return us safely to our inn with the sun seeming to melt like a pat of butter over the tops of the dunes.
A brilliant doco..places that have not changed in the Sahara for many years..truly beautiful scapes with the Tuaregs having the freedom hard won to be able to cross borders as they wish…thankyou..

What a life! I too a few years before that I crossed the Sahara from Sudan to Libya and then to Europe,and it was my best and worst memories of my life! Sahara is magnificent but the same time deadly!!

I loved watching you sand ski down the high mound and across the sand. Wow! Ancient customs and kind people taking you into their country and showing you the way and you bring this this adventure into our lives as a gift. You are so kind and respectful. Their world is so remote from the genocide of the Palestinians. I hope they find out what the Israelis are doing and pray it ends now and Israel exists no longer because they have been forced to leave and return to Europe.
A year ago I drove from the French Alps to the Sahara -(ferry across the Med) what surprised me most was how bloody cold its gets at night in the desert !!
I am slowly realizing how important tradition is, even in today's fast-paced world. These people have managed to preserve their traditions because modernity has not yet reached them, allowing them to live their lives fully in their own way.

Living in a country neighboring Niger Republic, I am really fascinated by your documentary. We call the touaregs Buzaye and we do business with them before. Now things have changed a little bit.
In the beginning when he grabs that vendors salt and then throw it. The guy is like 😮. I find it distracting how he pronounces Niger two different ways. Also the fact he’s English and knows zero French is baffling. Idk. Those poor animals …how they are treated. But the culture is incredible and what a treat to glimpse it so intimately. I wonder how it is now 22 years later. Camels are fascinating animals. They’re chill and badass at the same time. David cracks me up skiing in the desert. That guide was really helpful and informative

This was once all forest land and grass lands, perhaps even all rain forest.
Before that it was once covered in Glaciers miles deep.
