Hello, I just watched this video even though you published it last year. It was full of good information. I am beginning the process of looking for an accounting job in the UK, particularly Scotland. I am a US CPA with 10 years of experience. I'm not sure how this certification corresponds to your ACCA, but it is the highest certification in the US. I am glad you have listed so many resources on your channel and I will begin my search there.
Hi and thanks for watching. I think the best thing would be to call a few agents and speak to them about it to establish if the CPA would be sufficient and accepted in the UK. But I’m pretty sure it should be ok as you also have lots of experience. May I ask why move from US to the UK?
I listen to my viewers and try and answer their questions. Thank you for suggesting the topic and fire up with even more questions- no question is too small or too silly to ask.
Waw! This really helpful, i got a friend who has Bsc accounting 2.1,ACA and Msc accounting with 5years working experience hope she can get a good sponsorship job in uk
Hi Agnes love your last video about your ACCA journey I am a career changer, from the UK but working in Pakistan as a university lecturer in finance and accounting. Moved back into the UK and working as a customer service advisor and have started the ACCA taking two exams in September. I have applied for many accounts assistant and assistant accountant roles and so far been unsuccessful. Can you recommend how people like me can get our foot in the door as I am 42 with 10 years of teaching experience. Thank you
I would recommend getting in touch with the employment agencies as they would be the best to help in your case. But I would suggest perhaps go to teach in secondary schools business studies or accounts as you already have teaching background, Once you done with ACCA you can teach ACCA then.
@@AgnesMann Thank you for your reply. I have looked into teaching and you need the teaching qualification and honestly, I want to move away from teaching and look towards the corporate sector. I will take what you have mentioned in the video and will get CV checked and look at google jobs and other websites.
Very helpful video. I would like to find out more about assessment centres. I will be graduating in July and will be entitled to 9 ACCA exemptions. I am looking for a trainee accountant job, but I find assessment centres difficult and all big companies have it- Deloitte, KPMG etc.
Congrats on getting your degree out the way, and great move to go into ACCA. I hope you find the job asap. Assessments centres is juts a big hall where lots of people sit the exam with invigilators making sure that no-one is taking unfair advantage. You don't really notice them when you are in the zone of writing. The tables are tiny and chairs often uncomfortable lol. Anything else you would like to know specifically? Thank you for watching comment and stay connected.
I would like more info as I am AAT fully qualified and have never had a job in Accounting. Nobody wants me even for the interview as I do not have the relevant experience
@@smbduno3078 for that I can see potentially two things that you can do- a)contact a good agent (mentioned in the video). B) improve your CV. Even if you had no accounts job you would have some transferable skills. We all start from zero and no experience. I’m sure you will find a job eventually if you keep looking into all the places I’ve recommended. Best of luck
Congratulations on passing you exams. Sorry to hear that you can’t find any job. Did you work in accounts while studying. Many students leave this part til they finish with exams and have no experience record to get any job

Great video. Just a question: what are the chances of getting a sponsorship? I reckon candidates who don’t require sponsorship are already at an advantage, no?
You might be right but there are some companies (smaller private businesses I’d suggest) that would prefer such option as usually it ties the employee to stay for longer and put more effort in fear of loosing the sponsorship. I’d look into small practice for such opportunities. Thank you so much for watching
I am an ACCA part qualified student from India ..how can I find a job in uk...I don't have any work experience...I have applied in many companies..but have not got any job....could you please help me with this..
It is really hard as you need to be looking for a place that offers visa. If you have acca done it will be easier. Get a good experience while finishing off you acca and them look for a job in the UK. Good luck
Thanks for the video, I’m at the last stage of my Ican , I want to ask , how can I get an accounting job with that , also I do I relocate with it, should I relocate through school, or is there any other way I can get a visa with that
yes you sure would and you should so that you can qualify. you need 36 months of practical experiance on top of the exam to become a member of ACCA which means the sooner you get an accounts job he better
Hello, Please can you let me know if ACCA AFFILIATES have a good demand in the job market in UK? I am an ACCA AFFILIATE with just 6 months of work experience from Ernst and Young. I am going to UK to study for my masters- MA in Strategic Financial Management. CAN I GET A GOOD SPONSORED JOB IN MY PSW PERIOD IN THE UK?
You can get a job for sure but it might not be at the salary level that fully qualified would get especially having only 6 months of experience. I hope this helps and good luck
