So happy that I found your channel through the AAT magazine. What an amazing story you have and one I hope to achieve in years to come. It’s very refreshing to see a modern view of the accounting industry 💞☺️

With my Associates in Accounting and working on my Bachelors in Finance, I have just started my hunt for an entry level job. Your videos are very helpful!

Brilliant video! Totally agree with your points on pay. Once of my students got a pay rise after each AAT exam he passed. Wow, was he motivated!

Thank you. I really like your videos. I'm a partly qualified accountant and still getting used to and finding out about the profession.. I also didn't do a degree, went straight in the professional accountancy like you, maybe.

So I am currently 19, I went to college and obtained a Level 2 and Level 3 Merit AAT from my 2 college years, but during my second year of college (when covid struck hard and so did lockdowns, I fell out of love with it as I was at home alone studying while everyone went back, (shielding) and I went down a dark spiral with my mental health so I, over time, stopped enjoying accounting and was kind of lost in myself) and for a year I was dead set on finding an apprenticeship in the electrician field)) but with no luck finding one and colleges starting up, I am now thinking back to my college days where I actually very much enjoyed learning about accounting and I think I will go back to it. But after a year of not thinking about accounting I fear I have forgotten a lot and since I've got a level 3, I fear I cant find an apprenticeship as a way into it but if I went straight into a job with the level 3 I would be pretty lost.. anyone here got any advice if they we're in my shoes?

I did AR with job title as Accountant but folks said AR is not accounting job 🤔
Also, just wanting to say accounting is very hot market so even lowest level position, HR will consider those candidates with degrees and experience.

I didn't know that you could be an accountant without going to University. How do you become qualified?

    • @accountantshe

You absolutely can! I became qualified through an apprenticeship where I studied AAT

wait really? i did not know that, the only reason im going to college for it is because i need to stay on my dads insurance. now theres another bonus to this decision hahaha

@@tavrosnitram1529 Yes in the Us south Affrica you need a degree plus a masters or maters credits, to sit the board exams to become a CPA in the us and a CA in south Africa. Actully the profession is not Accounting but Accountancy where you are either a CPA or a CA, if you are not any of the two, you are not a professional.
