Thank you so much for this video. I've been looking at retraining as an accountant but thought I'd never be able to get the experience I would need. Now I have hope that I can move my life forward in this new direction. Keep up the great work 👍
I have previous experience in multiple roles in IT (web dev, system administrator, research assistant) and I literally combined them all into one as if it had been a single experience. I merged the dates into one range, wrote all the roles and companies on one line (fortunately they were all in the same city), wrote a line saying "IT experience combined in this CV for clarity and conciseness" and added 3 bullet points briefly explaining responsibilities. Massive space saver, but I hope it'll be well received. I'm already a Xero certified advisor and I will take an Excel certification too because I think "Excel Certified" sounds much better than the millions of "Good Excel knowledge" they must already be reading 😂

I have recently graduated with a bachelors in Economics and I am very keen to get into accounting. Should I begin by studying for the the ATT qualification and then start applying for entry level trainee accountant roles or should I just apply to these roles anyway without starting the ATT - there are many which provide study support/training and are willing to pay for qualifications as well as some that provide study support for ACA/ACCA straight away so I would prefer this, however I'm worried applying with just my degree and no professional work experience may seem as though I am less serious about this and as a result less employable. What do you think?
Hi I recently started in practice a year ago, the learning curve has been steep, to say the least! How long would you give it to then start thinking about doing an ACA or ACCA qualification?
