  • The trimmer came down to install the headliner to the car, I trimmed the A,B & C Pillars. We then moved on to getting the braking system installed and then got the fuel system started.

    Good work Dan but only negative is you seem to be rushing the end, I don't know when you first mentioned this deadline but after 18 months of hard graft and perfection on the body work, everything is just been rushed to get to some show in a week?? take your time and finish it the the same standard as the better than factory body is 👍

    Seeing clean colour in the boot is nice, that is what I was thinking right before that floor went in. It’s old school and clean.

    The GTI is progressing very well Dan, I love the attention to detail that you are putting into the build it's all those small details like having the boot totally trimmed out so there is no metal showing that makes the car unique. Headlining looks mint and the colour is perfect and so is the centre console, it's a shame the dash won't be finished but that can be done at a later date.
    I hope all goes well for you next week Dan and you don't have to many issues getting the engine fired up 🤞🙏👍

    Looking fantastic Dan, great build! Don't worry about no anti roll bars. I have none on my 1982 Mk2 Scirocco which is the same A1 platform, and I don't even notice. These cars are so light it's not an issue...
    Looking forward to the first run! 👍🇬🇧

    Dan was the ECU inside the car before? Looks like it has a barometric pressure sensor built in to it (the little black round thing). Will this cause problems being inside cabin with the heaters on?

    • @scottyc6087

      It's just a vent. The ecu would've been mounted in TT from factory

      Sadly does seem to have lost the love for it, i love my mk1 Gti, i open the garage most days just to look at it even if i don’t take it out 😂
      He will finish it, Early edition it, then it will be sold i reckon

    • @DanChambersDAC
      @DanChambersDAC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Not lost the love for it. It is just the most stressful part of it trying to put all of the last 18 months of effort together to make a working car. Hopefully get the next week out of the way and the car will be running then I might seem happier? With all of my mental health issues and stress being the main problem the smallest things can stress me out so maybe that is what is coming across on the videos?

    • @DanChambersDAC
      @DanChambersDAC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Replied on another comment. The car will eventually be for sale as I need the funds for the next project but I do intend on keeping it for a while and getting out as much as I can this year to enjoy the last 18 months work. If I could keep it and build something else I would but I have everything invested in it so the channel would just stop when it is finished.

      @@DanChambersDAC mate, it’s cool and absolutely get it, don yourself a favour.. Take 5 minutes step back and look at what your producing!! It’s amazing mate.. and every reason to be proud..
      Please don’t take what I said as negative, I’m a long time follower and understand your mental challenges so please don’t beat yourself up matey..
      Just look at that car man… It’s cool as f^€$ so be happy and proud of yourself! 👍🏼👍🏼👌🏻

    Hey Dan, long time fan and circling back around to this one. I'm doing a VR6 swap in my MK1 and be running my fuel pump and filter similar to yours. I am curious as to your thoughts about whether the filter goes pre- or post- fuel pump? I was going to run mine pre-pump, but I see you have yours post-pump.
