- On this installment of my MK2 GTI 1.8t shell swap, I fix the rest of the rust, including cowl panel replacement, door sill repairs and fixing up the rear quarter glass frames.

Quick question please.... why are you doing SO much work to your rally car? and quick comment... I've never seen a factory VW windshield frame rust.... it's only when the aftermarket ones are swedged in there...

Only the GTI G60 had glued front windshield all other had rubber to Seat in only
I think only the g60 and maybe the 16v had glued in windshields in Europe
I must say to the untrained eye, you're pretty okay at sticking metal together with electrocity.
Will you clear coat it to preserve your work? They do make a matte clear in rattle can
Probably not, rattle can clear probably won't hold up any better than the paint I used
The nickname i gave that little air saw at my shop is “the duck saw” because it goes wuack whack

Hey man.i bought a Golf C 1.3l tour edition. The car has 3 Doors. Is it true that these cars are getting rare? My car has 71000 km (43k miles)
It depends on your country/market. Here in the states, they were fairly unpopular to begin with and got eaten up by rust. Regardless, your low mileage makes it pretty uncommon.
