    There's plenty of TH-camrs banging on about elbow in front of pocket/ hips on the downswing, but the focus on pointing the elbow pit forward coming into impact made a massive difference for me. I caught my torso rotating a lot more without me thinking at all about it to support that pit forward. Nice one!

    I tried concentrating on this at the driving range today and it really help me make better contact with the ball. What I like about this tip is that you can do it during your setup and you really don't have to think about it when you swing the club. It helped me swing more from the inside and not over the top.

    This video really helped simplify my swing as a new golfer. I have seen a lot of different takes on how it should feel during the down swing (right vs left). Where should it feel like the swing is coming from (obviously with hips included)? Right, left, equal?
    i.e. I’ve seen it’s like throwing a baseball down (i.e. right dominant). I’ve also seen your swing speed comes from the lead hand.

    This setup position has revolutionized my swing. One simple change has given me a consistency and compression that I have never had. I have found the most important aspect is to make sure that at setup, the right elbow is in front of the abdomen and not on the side of it where my was. I ended up getting stuck and the consistency and compression went out the window.

    • @wallstreetoneil
      @wallstreetoneil ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As a golfer that has moved to this very right-hand dominant, lead elbow delivery, the secret (imo) to a repeatable powerful golfswing is to completely remove the left hand/wrist/anything from your brain/swing feels - the 97% of us that are naturally Right Handed, have spent a lifetime of building neurons in our brain that skillfully controls our right side - therefore use this to your advantage and put it in charge. I would also add that using a bigger grip that is also a +4 will give your right hand more real estate to apply this power and control - imo, every male should be using at least a Mid Sized +4 for this reason.

    sometimes our ‘bad’ set up isnt quite exaggerated like that…that’s why it’s difficult to realize
    it’s not a correct move cause most of the time it is just seems normal for us. I know when coaching it’s necessary to exaggerated things to help us understand, but would be great sometimes not to and just show us the regular ‘normal’ fault that could be existed.

      @CogornoGolf  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Orson!
      I wouldn't say "doesn't move", as the trail arm will be more forward in space (towards the target) at impact vs. at setup...but keeping it in external rotation so you can keep the elbows close together throughout the entire swing would be a great start.

    Inside of the elbow pointing to front camera encourages an open face at impact. I’m surprised you’re coaching this. If you look at top players like Rory, his right arm is turned-in by about 20-25 degrees at address.

I’ve always been very conscious of my trail arm pocket pointing away, but I tried to setup with my lead arm out more then my trail arm and i can’t it feels so alien and terrible. And watching him address the ball his shoulders are tilted mine are not, he has shaft lean I don’t. The club almost looks like a line off his lead arm. Mine is nothing like that sits centered. Felt decent about my swing going into this video feel terrible about it now 😂

    Completely understand and agree with this right arm position
    Take it up and WIND it up like a waiter holding a platter. Power and accuracy in this move
    BUT I do not understand what "the face closed to the shaft" means
    I think that is a confusing and unfortunate choice of words
    The club face needs to be square through impact. Even if only a milisecond. Simple. Closed to the shaft? All the heads of my clubs are fixed on the end of the shaft.

    • @CogornoGolf
      @CogornoGolf  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Richard!
      The club face can be open or closed to the target through impact to start the ball more left or right to play for a predicable curve. If your club face is 0* square to the target at impact and your path isn't also exactly 0*, your ball will always be curving away from the target. This is why you'll see all elite ball strikers playing curves, because hitting a dead straight shot perfectly at the target is the hardest shot in golf :)
      "Closed to the shaft" is just making sure the face is literally closed to the shaft. We go over some more details on this in these videos:

    that is over exaggerate to show bad address regards right elbow. NO ONE DO THAT. Yes, there people who have no ideas about that position but no one do like what video is showing.

    I am going to skip any video where you have this guy.
    The in to out path he describes is ON PLANE relative to center mass of the body and low point.
    In to out becomes out to in after impact.

    Good clickbait dude. How would you know 99% of amateurs don't know that? Did you take a survey? Clickbait

      Haha thanks for the feedback! The reality is you have to play the game with youtube to get enough people to watch. Wouldn't it be a shame to spend so much time on a video to help everyone and have a title that no one watches? ITs a trade off you have to make.

      @@garystewart6979 I know the golf swing very well also. It's annoying how many channels over exaggerate things to get clicks. Mind your own business

      @@CamaroKidd2022 I golf out of DCreek where this video was done. I’m in Ontario. Last day of golf for the season today. Snow Saturday. I took this little tweak to the range & the course yesterday. Didn’t miss a fairway. Greens were punched / sanded. I’d forgot how important this is. One of 200 little things in the golf swing. 😂

    I guess I missed the promotion by a couple days XD.. I've tried the right elbow out, both elbows facing out and a thousand other things and none have cured my right elbow from folding way to early and quickly.. it's driven me loony for years.
