I started doing this today and hit some of the best shots of my life. Funny thing is, I hadn't seen this video yet. I was doing it because it felt right. So glad to have found this video to confirm that what I was feeling was not only natural but also correct. Great video with outstanding explanation.
Great video about the pull back golf swing. Best explanation for the so called Miracle OTT swing ever! Simply that the trail shoulder cannot possibly be going OTT on the downswing because both Hogan and Bobby Jones loaded their trail shoulder at the top of their swing. Now for the downside Bobby Jones simply stated that he uses the fast twitch muscles of his lead hip. That it! The rest is automatic. Cheers 🥂😊👍
Already had picked up a lot from Chris before his sabbatical. Key for me was to stop lifting club, sometimes unconsciously, on the way back. Also implemented the 7.5 degree downswing but clearing the hips instead of shooting them out toward right field. Was late winter, unseasonably warm at 50 but balls were cold and I was rusty. Whistled hybrids so pure and penetrating I couldn't believe it. This is the truth and Chris is to be saluted for his commitment in the face of the haters.
The reason Mr. Hogan's right elbow folded so nicely is because he kept his arms together (as if they were tied together) throughout his swing. Study Hogan's 'Five Lessons' book and let Mr. Hogan teach you how to swing a golf club.
Not one golfer has perfected Hogans early transition at the top of his backswing, his hips have made an early turn, which lowers the club still horizontal, then his terrific continuing hip turn increases the club head speed. If anyone can show a golfer who comes close to this configuration, I will patiently wait. OK
Players shoot lower scores than Hogan day mainly because of far superior equipment. Today's golf balls are far superior to yesterdays, irons and drivers made from titanium are also allowing players to hit further. On some fairways today some drive are reaching close to 400 yards, manicured fairways are helping to achieve these results, and possibly there are other factors that we don't know about, would be pleased to hear of any.
Please do not simply pull the trail elbow. look at 13.14 all out of position. Yes open the scapula but keep the forces of trail elbow in line with the trail hip.
This is all fine and good, Hogan had a great swing, everyone agrees. THe modern players shoot much lower scores today than Hogan did so there is nothing wrong with the modern swing in not duplicating Hogan's movements. 😊
Terrible coach. human body understand repeat motion. You have to stretch during back swing. You cant have short back swing pulling elbow. Long wide back swing and short downswing
@@jamesfitzgerald6636based on hogan's height he would have swung flatter with the longer clubs. You saying only short stature can pull off this swing?
You’ll get infinitely more value out of 3 golf lessons with a swing coach than you would paying $497 to have some guy on a screen explaining how Ben Hogan swung. Don’t waste your money.
@@NoMoreSecrets.BenHogan it’s not an opinion. It’s advice to help people not waste money. Reading something will never improve your swing. Training and practical guidance will. I understand you need to sell your product, but don’t be a slimy salesman.
Total nonsense. Look at actual videos of the incredible Hogan swing. He does no such thing. He has a perfect one piece takeaway. Hogan's "secret" was a combination of athletic talent and HARD WORK!!
Hogan’s secret to me is maximizing the breaking of both wrist at the top of the backswing and maintaining the right angle between the left forearm the shaft of the golf club on the downswing until you hit the ball with sharp descending blow! if you are right handed
If you purchase the book, The Complete Hogan, by Jim McLean, you will see frame by frame analysis of Hogan's swing, from face on and down the line. After awhile, I realized that his "secret" is that he does EVERYTHING right!
This has go to be the worst golf swing advice ever. These classic swingers didn't pull their trail elbow back. It was in front of them. OMG....don't listen to this falsehood. Pulling the trail elbow back is a recipe for fat shots.
I was shanking the ball and having a lot of trouble making good contact all year. This changed everything for me. It is so simple and absolutely keeps your shoulders on a repeatable rotational plane. That is what creates the correct swing slot.
My best score 64 at 64 years old for me with my understanding of Ben Hogan swing thanks to you....
Wow that is elite golf at any age 😮👏👏
Fantastic. That really is elite at any age for sure. Thanks for sharing.
Nice man 👍 bout to try this on the course tomorrow
Great tip! Thanks a lot.

This is absolutely a repeatable powerful move, I've studied Bobby Jones for a long time. Ty for the video
It really is.
Great observation Chris. Thank you Sir. 🇨🇦💝🇺🇸🙏🥰
Awesome - just brilliant instruction - thankyou sooooo much
You're one of the best instructors on the web.
Thank You.
This was great. I have always been fascinated with Hogan's swing. Can't wait to try this at the range. 🏌️
Let us know how it goes.
Great video - keep the Big Boy - it helps to visualize the swing.
Priceless! Power! Precision!
Yep!!!
Chris..this is a sick video..meaning I feel sick I've been swing for 40yrs wrong..wow🍺🍺🍺😎..Don from Canada🤘
Best episode. Thanks so much!

what does using the fast twitch muscles mean? Just firing lead hip?
@@insomnia4life yes fire lead hip instead of the trail hip
Thanks for sharing.
Brilliant
Unbelievable , tried this evening …it works .. now to take it to the course ..

GOOD STUFF
Wow listening, learning and improving every step of the way... Thank you

Great, great information, so simple to understand, thanks from Georgia.
You're welcome. Thanks for watching.
Very very good info 👍👍

Ah..... There it is. Thanks Chris
Thank you for your instructional video. I will begin practicing the Hogan swing tomorrow.

Helps to elaborate the ben Hogan book. Im having hard time understanding the downswing rotation

Thank you very much, this helps a great deal. Yes!!!

hay chris don't forget to mention my 7 birdies 5 in a row 69 in your videos, it will prove your the best teacher in the world bar none
Will do. Awesome.

Hi Chris , great video , I just recently noticed that the Jewish tree of life ‘Kabbalah’ is the golf swing polygon,
CheersRobin from downunder
Cool.
I've studied the Ben Hogan swing over the years. The one thing that intrigued me was how little the clubheads were in his time.
You are the master of the swing
Thanks.
Let's see you at the ball
Pretty hard with his toy clubs
This is like starting my lawn mover by pulling the rope back!
Just make sure you pull it all the way around your body on the trail side.
Played yesterday missed only 1 fairway all day right shoulder elbow moving back!
Beautiful.
This clicked just reading it
Where is the Ben Hogan part?
Very good thank’s

Nice video. What is your handicap?
Well and good, but there aren't any 75 yr olds on tour swinging the "modern" swing are there?
IT Work
👍
Keep coming back

But your lead wrist is cupped?
Oh no! The dreaded cupped wrist 😢

Ben Hogan's swing does not work unless you have irons with a flat lie angle.
Not true at all, all my clubs are standard loft and lies from years ago, not all this juiced up stuff of today.
Hogans club were 2%open and 2% flat
Your clubs are plastic Chris

None of this mans blather is necessary to learn how to swing a golf club. 😖
