I found on mine the buffeting was much better after I fitted mirror extenders which means I can also now see everything behind. I think a lot of the buffering comes between the screen and mirrors
Very honest review. I know from a bit of online research, there are so many options and variables for screens. I've left mine as standard, as returning to a full-face helmet was the best improvement. Something else I picked up from another channel, was that much of the buffeting comes around the screen, rather than over it. If you move your left hand in and around the void between the screen, mirror and forward mounting area, you'll see what I mean. Obviously you'll need to be riding the bike, and preferably on a long straight road #safetyfirst
I recommend hypoallergenic silicone earbuds like Alpine MotoSafe Ear Plugs for non-vlogging noise reduction. For me, it was the noisy Himalayan motor that did it. The Alpine buds come in 17dB black and 20dB red noise reduction - I prefer the 20dB red ones. You can still hear a bit so you can leave them in for bakeries and petrol stations. I can also still hear my helmet audio system, make calls etc. Bit of a shock though if I put on the helmet at full blare without the plugs in. For the microphone, surely there's a physical fix for the microphone to reduce the wind noise? There are software fixes to remove/reduce wind noise, but that will take extra time and money and might remove the engine and other noises that you might want to keep. Voiceover and music in post? My comment for this video though is that I felt a bit travel-sick watching the parallax through the tall screen - could you get the camera higher? Helmet or handlebar mount?
Thanks for the ear plug recommendation 🙂. I've tried everything I can think of at much time and expense 🤦♂️. If you want to see a real horror take a look at my Triumph Street Triple video towards the end (thankfully we've come a long way since then) haha. I must admit with the taller screen I'm not a fan of the camera looking through it. I do have a helmet mount that I moved away from, but think I might just go back in that direction again 😊
With the new 450 coming, does anybody think it still makes sense to consider getting one of these previous model 411’s? Not by comparison to then 450, just in absolute terms, and of course for the lowering prices, that are inevitable, would a 411 Himalayan purchase make sense in someone’s opinion? I’m thinking it might be ok, perhaps even a good idea.
It's not distorted when riding, but I must admit it doesn't look great on camera. I'm going to play with my camera position so it should look better on future videos 🤞

Thanks for the tip Stephen, I'll take a look ☺️

Thanks Iain. I'll give it a test when I'm next out!

The 411 is a great bike in its own right and in my opinion has some advantages over the new 450, it also has some disadvantages (video coming soon).
Get rid of the screens all together.
I did try that Joe, but it was the least optimal set up for me unfortunately

😄Its the weather in this country..
Too true. Maybe a good enough reason to persuade the Mrs to emigrate.......? 😂
Now you have to look through the distorted plastic. I also don't like how it looks. Although similar its uglier. You should probably go shorter.
